Chapter 77 A Blazing Gaze

Even though they were discussing such a serious issue, Lu Jingheng still had the mind to joke around.

Xu Rubao pursed her lips. "Don't talk nonsense. I'm just speaking from a doctor's perspective."

"Look at your face, it's all red. You still say you're not interested in me?"

Xu Rubao couldn't help but touch her face; it was indeed a little hot.

She couldn't stand his intense gaze. Every time he looked at her with those eyes, she felt like a little white rabbit, and her heart would involuntarily tighten.

"I don't like you. Don't think everyone is like Xia Zimo. Don't worry, I'll remember this and won't have any improper thoughts about you. I'm just your servant under your contract."

"Xu Rubao!"

Her words sounded particularly harsh to him, even though he had said them to put her on the defensive.

Xu Rubao looked at him and yelled at her again, "I didn't say anything wrong, why do you always yell at me? You're so angry, take care of your health."

She wanted to continue, but the look in his eyes was frightening, and the last sentence she uttered became increasingly petty.

She quickly lowered her head and ate a piece of pineapple to calm her nerves.

"From now on, talk less while eating. Your talking will ruin your mood."

"oh……"

After that, the two didn't speak again and ate quietly. Xu Rubao was afraid that he would get angry again, so she didn't dare to make a sound while drinking soup.

After all that commotion, the girl forgot to take his pulse.

Lu Jingheng knew she meant well, but he didn't want her to know about this yet; it wasn't something she could worry about.

After lunch, in the afternoon, Lu Jingheng went out and said he wouldn't be back that night.

In the huge villa, only Xu Rubao remained.

She called her grandfather, genuinely worried about him, given his advanced age and the fact that he was still working so hard.

Fortunately, Xu Ziyang still had some conscience and stayed with his grandfather.

Most of the medicinal herbs have been purchased, and some have already been shipped back ahead of schedule. We are still short of three relatively expensive herbs, but the suppliers we should have received are all out of stock.

Given the magnitude of the problem, Xu Jinnan was determined not to allow any more instances of substandard products being passed off as superior ones. Therefore, he decided to purchase more medicinal herbs from their place of origin.

This resulted in a lot of wasted time, but fortunately the other distributors were understanding and gave us time.

Of course, the fact that this matter was resolved so smoothly, and that no other distributors made things difficult for the Xu family, is also inseparable from Lu Jingheng's influence.

Now that he has spoken up, the others won't be so foolish as to oppose him.

After making the call, she felt a little relieved. There were still quite a few leftovers from lunch, which she could just reheat for dinner.

Since she had some free time, she wanted to read some more books.

The next day marked the start of a new week.

Xu Rubao had just left the villa when she ran into Lu Mingyu.

Lu Mingyu rode his bicycle with his usual dashing style. He was just trying his luck and never expected to run into Xu Rubao here again.

"Ru Bao, good morning."

Xu Rubao saw Lu Mingyu, nodded slightly, and replied with a faint "Good morning".

Do you live around here?

He had previously escorted her and Xu Ziqing back home; the Xu family wasn't located on this side of the street.

This area can be described as an affluent neighborhood; the people who live here are all either rich or powerful.

Xu Rubao didn't want him to know that she was working for Lu Jingheng, and there was no need to tell him about her affairs.

"Lu, I think it's necessary to tell you again that we're not that close. Goodbye."
