Chapter 19 Are you investigating me?
Twenty minutes later, Song Rui called. After seeing the results of his investigation, he didn't know how to tell Mr. Lu. He was afraid that Mr. Lu would take his anger out on him.
"Mr. Lu, um, we've found Miss Mu's location."
"Where?"
Lu Yiran's tone was full of displeasure, as if he was about to get angry in the next second. Song Rui could only bite the bullet and say, "Amber Night Bar."
When he heard the word "bar", Lu Yiran couldn't hold back his anger for so long. He smashed his phone down hard. The phone hit the corner of the coffee table and broke into two pieces.
Song Rui on the other end of the phone only heard a bang, and then the phone was forced to hang up. He called again, but the phone was turned off. He suddenly understood what the noise was. His boss Lu smashed his phone. It seems that he has to get up early tomorrow to deliver a phone to Mr. Lu. Well, he has to work overtime again, and he will miss the wonderful weekend.
Lu Yiran was not satisfied after throwing his phone, so he overturned everything on the coffee table. When the housekeeper heard the noise, he hurried out to check and saw Lu Yiran smashing things. The housekeeper was a little bit unbelievable, because this was the first time he saw the cold and indifferent young master lose his temper so much. The housekeeper did not dare to make a sound to disturb him, for fear that he would be implicated.
Lu Yiran was truly furious with Mu Nanyan. He'd been waiting for her home hungry, thinking she was working overtime. Although he was angry she'd made him wait so long, he'd said nothing. But then, it turned out she'd gone out to the bar to eat, drink, and have some fun, leaving him waiting all alone. He'd really underestimated Mu Nanyan. A college student who hadn't even graduated yet was actually going to a place like a bar and having a blast.
"Mu Nanyan, you are really great..."
Lu Yiran suddenly felt his vocabulary was so limited that he couldn't find any insults to say about her. After all, he was usually too gentlemanly and rarely cursed. No one dared to make him so angry. Mu Nanyan was really the first one. If the old lady hadn't ordered that Mu Nanyan be brought back to the old house for dinner tomorrow, he would have really wanted to kill her. He had to settle the score with Mu Nanyan tonight, otherwise he would never be able to calm down.
Just as he was about to go out to bring Mu Nanyan back, he heard the sound of footsteps outside the door. It was Mu Nanyan who came back.
It was already past eleven o'clock, and Mu Nanyan finally came back. She saw the message sent to him by the housekeeper on the way. She felt strange that Lu Yiran just came back and why would he talk to her about it?
She walked into the living room and saw Lu Yiran still sitting there in a suit and tie. She felt very strange. Then she saw the broken cell phone next to the coffee table and the fruits scattered all over the floor. She couldn't help but feel even more confused.
"Who made him so angry that he even smashed my phone? Rich people are so arrogant, they smash things whenever they want."
Mu Nanyan complained in her heart, but her face was calm, showing nothing. When Lu Yiran saw Mu Nanyan coming back, he said sarcastically:
"You still remember to come back?"
"What's wrong?"
Mu Nanyan clearly heard that something was wrong with Lu Yiran's tone, but after thinking about it, she still couldn't figure out how she had offended him. They hadn't seen each other for a week and had no interaction.
The housekeeper saw that Mu Nanyan didn't understand what was going on, and quickly reminded her:
"Madam, the eldest young master came back after seven o'clock today and wanted to wait for you to have dinner together, but you haven't come back yet..."
The housekeeper couldn't continue talking. He felt that the young master was really miserable today. Mu Nanyan finally understood what happened after hearing this. She looked at Lu Yiran and said:
"You won't eat by yourself if I don't come back?"
This sentence made Lu Yiran speechless. He couldn't find any words to refute for a while. Mu Nanyan looked at Lu Yiran and continued:
"Did you come back today because you need to see me? If you have something, you can call me and tell me, or call me to come back. How did I know you would come back today when you didn't say anything? I went out to eat with my friends after get off work, and then I went out to play for a while when it was still early. I didn't pay attention to the time and came back so late."
"You haven't been home for a week. I'm the only one at home, and no one has stipulated that I can't come back so late."
Mu Nanyan explained that after all, they still had a year to live together and didn't want to make their relationship too awkward. She also felt that apart from the fact that she came back late, everything else was Lu Yiran's own fault. He made a problem so complicated that could be solved with just a phone call.
Lu Yiran did not reply to Mu Nanyan's words, because he found that he had no way to refute it. He could only change the subject and said to the housekeeper: "Housekeeper, you should go to bed early. It's getting late now."
"Yes, Master."
The housekeeper's mission has been completed. It is not appropriate for the housekeeper to interfere in how the young couple will solve this matter, so he returned to the small villa at the back to rest.
After the housekeeper left, Lu Yiran turned to look at Mu Nanyan and said coldly:
"So is it appropriate for you to go to a place like a bar today?"
"How did you know? Did you investigate me?"
Mu Nanyan was also a little angry now. She felt that her privacy was violated.
"Lu Yiran, you said before that we are just a contracted couple and we don't bother each other. I don't need to tell you about my private life. Where I go has nothing to do with you."
Hearing this, Lu Yiran's face became even colder, and the air pressure around him dropped a bit. It was clearly summer now, but Mu Nanyan actually felt a bit cold.
"But you are still my wife. Is it appropriate for you to go to that kind of place? I will never allow my wife to go out and get entangled with other men and cheat on me, even if we signed a contract."
"When did I get involved with another man? I just went to the bar with my friends and had a couple of drinks. Lu Yiran, don't make a big deal out of it."
Mu Nanyan felt that Lu Yiran was simply the epitome of tyranny and despotism. She clearly hadn't done anything wrong. If she had known that Lu Yiran was such a person, she would never have married him even if she had been beaten to death.
"From today on, you must come back before nine o'clock, otherwise you will never be able to leave this door again."
"Why, why do you restrict my freedom?"
"Why? Why? Because this is my home, I have the final say, and because you are now my wife."
Lu Yiran's words left Mu Nanyan speechless. She found herself falling from one fire pit into another.
