Chapter 313 He Treats Me Well

Chapter 313 He Treats Me Well

Tang Yutong sat blankly at her desk, the blue light from the computer screen reflected on her pale face.

The words on the document blurred before her eyes and her thoughts had drifted away until three crisp knocks on the door woke her up.

“Dongdongdong——”

Tang Yutong finally reacted and shouted towards the door:

"Come in."

She quickly adjusted her sitting position, lowered her head and pretended to flip through the documents, but her fingertips trembled unconsciously.

The door was gently pushed open, and Chen Mo walked in holding a stack of documents. He smiled and said to Tang Yutong:

"Sister Yutong, the cooperation contract with Fang Corporation has been drafted."

His voice was clear and full of the youthful vigor.

Tang Yutong raised her head and was obviously startled when she saw it was him:

"Why did you send it here? Where's Lao Xiao?"

"Lawyer Xiao went out for something urgent."

"Then put it here. I'll look at it later."

After Tang Yutong finished speaking, she quickly lowered her head, her long hair covering half of her face, and her fingertips unconsciously stroked the edge of the document.

Chen Mo gently placed the document on the edge of the desk. When he looked up, he keenly caught the redness in her eyes:

"Sister Yutong, are you... okay?"

Women are really very emotional creatures. They can keep their thoughts to themselves the moment before, and hide the wrinkles of their emotions with a nonchalant smile, as if all the waves are being smoothed out without making a sound.

But when someone shows me some care, that shell I've managed to hold onto shatters instantly. My nose starts to sour before my mind even registers it, and heat creeps up my eyes. Before I can even register, tears are already flowing from the corners of my eyes.

She bit her lower lip, but still couldn't stop a tear from falling on the document in front of her, creating a small splash on the paper.

Tang Yutong really didn't want to cry in front of Chen Mo. She suppressed the bitterness in her heart and sorted out her emotions:

"I'm fine...you can go out first."

Her voice was as light as a feather, as if saying this had taken all her strength.

Tang Yutong wanted Chen Mo to leave, but Chen Mo didn't understand her embarrassment after all. He didn't plan to leave. He stood there, looking at her slightly trembling shoulders, and his Adam's apple rolling up and down:

"Sister Yutong, did something happen to you? Is it Chu Ci?"

As he said this, his fists hanging at his sides clenched quietly, as if he was trying hard to endure something.

Tang Yutong raised her head suddenly, a trace of panic flashed in her eyes, and then she forced a smile:

"Don't guess blindly, he treats me very well."

"Then why are your eyes red?"

Chen Mo obviously didn't believe what Tang Yutong said. Seeing this, Tang Yutong pretended to be relaxed and said:

"Something just got in my eye."

As Tang Yutong spoke, she took the opportunity to rub her eyes, quickly wiping away the tears from the corners of her eyes. Her fingertips stayed on her eyelids for a few seconds to make sure there was no trace of crying.

She raised her head and looked directly at Chen Mo, with a perfect smile on her lips:

"I'm really fine. Don't make wild guesses, and don't talk too much in front of my parents. I don't want to be nagged by them."

Chen Mo stood there silently, looking at Tang Yutong with sharp eyes.

He knew Tang Yutong too well. This girl who had taken care of him like a sister since childhood, was pretending to be calm at this moment, but instead revealed more of herself.

The more she emphasized "it's okay", the more serious the problem became.

Tang Yutong had no idea what Chen Mo was thinking and could only continue to act:

"Okay, you can go out now. I have to start working. I have an appointment with Chu Ci for dinner tonight."

She pretended to be relaxed and began to organize the documents, the papers making a rustling sound in her hands.

Chen Mo wanted to say something, but after hearing the second half of the sentence, he said nothing. He just nodded and left the office.

Tang Yutong looked at Chen Mo's back as he left and felt relieved. He had finally gotten away with it.

Chen Mo and Tang Yutong's families have been neighbors for more than ten years. In Tang Yutong's eyes, Chen Mo is the little follower who has been following her around since she was a child. She has always treated this boy next door as her own brother.

A few months ago, when Tang Yutong returned home for dinner, she happened to meet Chen's mother visiting her home.

The two elders mentioned Chen Mo's internship after graduating from university during their chat. Tang's mother suddenly had an idea and suggested that Chen Mo go to Tang Yutong's design studio for internship.

Tang Yutong thought that since she was now capable, it would not be a problem for her to take care of this "younger brother", so she readily agreed, but added: "Of course, it depends on Chen Mo's own wishes."

To her surprise, Chen Mo agreed without hesitation after knowing the situation. In this way, Chen Mo became an intern at Yihe Design Studio.

But Tang Yutong never expected that the little follower back then would now become someone she needed to be on guard against at all times.

"It's like having a surveillance camera installed next to you."

Tang Yutong rubbed his temples, regretting his decision.
