Chapter 22: Lu Yiran is not okay?
The Lu family's old house.
Lu Yiran's Maybach stopped in front of a large and magnificent courtyard. Mu Nanyan and Lu Yiran got out of the car together. Mu Nanyan was a little shocked when she saw the old house.
"No wonder the Lu family is the most affluent family in the capital. This is simply inhumane and inhumane!"
This mansion is not only a symbol of power and wealth, but also a crystallization of art and craftsmanship. It is quietly located in a well-tended garden, surrounded by towering walls and intricate iron gates. It seems like a secret place isolated from the world, where the hustle and bustle of the outside world are gently isolated.
The mansion's exterior features classic European architectural style. Its off-white exterior gleams with a gentle sheen in the sun, accented by delicate reliefs and intricate lines. Every detail exudes elegance and nobility. The roof, covered in deep blue glazed tiles, contrasts beautifully with the blue sky and white clouds, creating a fairytale-like palace, a truly unforgettable experience.
Mu Nanyan followed Lu Yiran into the Lu family mansion. The first thing that caught her eye was a long marble corridor lined with a variety of rare flowers and antique porcelain. The air was filled with a faint fragrance, slowly released from precious spices hidden in the dark, which was refreshing. At the end of the corridor, a huge crystal chandelier hung in the center of the empty hall. The dazzling light filtered through the crystal and filled the entire space, illuminating the entire hall with a golden and magnificent atmosphere, like a dream.
Mrs. Lu and Mr. Lu were sitting on the sofa waiting for Lu Yiran and Mu Nanyan. Mu Nanyan took Lu Yiran's arm and walked in front of the two old people. Lu Yiran first introduced:
"Grandpa and grandma, this is your granddaughter-in-law, her name is Mu Nanyan. Nanyan, this is grandpa and grandma."
Mu Nanyan smiled sweetly at Mrs. Lu and Mr. Lu, then called out:
"Hello, Grandpa and Grandma. I'm sorry I came to see you just now."
As a long-time superior, although Mr. Lu has retired now, his majesty is still there. He was afraid of scaring Mu Nanyan, so he just nodded and didn't say much. However, when Mrs. Lu saw such a beautiful and polite granddaughter-in-law, she was immediately delighted.
"Hey, okay, okay, come sit next to me and let me take a good look at you."
Old Lady Lu called Mu Nanyan over. Mu Nanyan glanced at Lu Yiran, and when she saw Lu Yiran nod, she sat over.
Mrs. Lu became more and more satisfied as she looked at him, and said to Lu Yiran, "You are not a good person, but you have a good eye for choosing a wife."
Lu Yiran was immediately displeased by the old lady's words. He had never thought that he would be outshined by Mu Nanyan. Could this grandma still be his real grandma? She actually said this to him in front of Mu Nanyan.
Mu Nanyan couldn't help but laugh in her heart. She didn't expect this old lady to be so interesting. However, she still had to protect Lu Yiran in such an occasion and not let him lose face.
"Grandma, Yiran is fine. He's usually very nice to me."
Mu Nanyan said this while pretending to be embarrassed and not looking at Lu Yiran. Lu Yiran didn't expect Mu Nanyan to speak up for him. Although he knew she was pretending, he couldn't help but look at her twice. Mu Nanyan looked like she was defending the man she loved. That shy look didn't seem to be fake at all. It was the first time Lu Yiran saw Mu Nanyan like this.
"Hey, look, I haven't even said anything to him yet, but you're already defending him. I thought your relationship wouldn't be very good after your flash marriage, but I didn't expect it to be too much. It seems like you two are getting along very happily."
Old Lady Lu even started teasing the two of them, and Mu Nanyan's face immediately turned red. She had been pretending before, but this time it was real, but not because she was shy, but because she felt guilty for lying to this kind old lady.
However, Mrs. Lu thought Mu Nanyan was blushing because she was embarrassed, so she didn't think much about it and continued, "I'm relieved that you two get along well. Maybe one day I can hold my great-grandson in my arms."
Mu Nanyan felt even more embarrassed now. She hadn't expected that the old lady would urge her to give birth the first time they met. Her marriage with Lu Yiran was a fake marriage, and Lu Yiran didn't even allow Mu Nanyan to approach his room, let alone give birth to a child.
Mu Nanyan could only look at Lu Yiran and ask him to answer. However, Lu Yiran seemed not to have heard what Mrs. Lu had just said. He sat on the sofa on the other side and drank tea by himself.
"Lu Yiran, you are really great. If you are like this, don't blame me for being rude."
When Mu Nanyan saw that Lu Yiran didn't speak for her, she immediately changed her attitude and said to the old lady:
"Grandma, I don't have the final say on having children. Yiran..."
Mu Nanyan paused when she mentioned Lu Yiran. Her hesitation turned into...
Mrs. Lu turned to look at Lu Yiran and said:
"Yiran, you can't be incapable, right? This is not okay. We have to treat our illness and can't delay it. My granddaughter-in-law's future happy life depends on you. If you can't do it, what will happen if my lovely granddaughter-in-law runs away..."
Old Mrs. Lu was still talking and was about to find a hospital to register for him. She didn't notice that Lu Yiran's face had darkened. He stared at Mu Nanyan intently. If looks could kill, Mu Nanyan would have died hundreds of times.
Mu Nanyan noticed Lu Yiran's look, but she said she was innocent. She just wanted to put the blame on Lu Yiran. She didn't expect Mrs. Lu to be so bold and say anything. How could she bring up Lu Yiran's shortcomings? She was also helpless. Mu Nanyan didn't dare to speak, fearing that she would make more mistakes the more she spoke.
"Yiran, why didn't you tell me earlier? I'll ask the housekeeper to find some deer antlers and goat penis to replenish your body. They are very useful."
Seeing that Mrs. Lu was getting more and more outrageous, Lu Yiran couldn't stand it anymore and quickly explained:
"Grandma, you misunderstood. Nan Yan didn't mean that just now. She said that I'm too busy at work and don't have time. Besides, Nan Yan is still too young now. Let's talk about it after she graduates from college."
"Oh, it's not you who can't do it. Then I feel relieved."
Mrs. Lu turned to look at Mu Nanyan and said, "Nanyan is indeed too young now. Let's wait until you graduate from college before having children."
"Okay, let's go, let's go eat. It's almost twelve o'clock. I can't let my precious granddaughter-in-law go hungry."
After saying this, Mrs. Lu pulled Mu Nanyan towards the restaurant. But Mu Nanyan had just eaten breakfast before leaving today, so she wasn't hungry at all. She didn't know that there was a kind of hunger called being hungry because your elders thought you were hungry.
