Bombed the world

Bombed the world

Five days later, on January 18th.

Zhuang Yanbin's jealousy eventually spread to Liu Tianhua and Shen Ningyi.

Zhuang Yanbin had taken action against Ning Yi first, but Zhang Chenglin and Xin Jie were both too busy that day to find out about it immediately.

The next morning, when Xin Jie received the message from the informant, he almost jumped out of bed at four in the morning.

Holding the piece of paper with only a few words in his hand, Xin Jie knelt by the bed in utter despair, praying to all the gods, hoping that when Zhang Chenglin heard the news, he would consider his health and not be too sad.

Zhuang Yanbin truly deserved to die; by then, all 47 key KMT members who voted for Zhang Chenglin at the KMT annual convention had been murdered.

He originally thought that Zhuang Yanbin was just making an example of Zhang Chenglin by killing two people to give him a warning.

Putting aside the fact that Zhang Chenglin never cared about his position to begin with, even after he made some changes to his personnel, Zhang Chenglin didn't take any action. He simply sent letters to a few close friends in the Kuomintang, telling them to be careful.

Unexpectedly, Zhuang Yanbin made a terrible mistake by targeting Liu Tianhua.

Everyone knows that Liu Tianhua is Zhang Chenglin's last line of defense. I dare not say anything else, but Xin Jie knows that Zhuang Yanbin is really going to have to bleed a lot this time.

Otherwise, does he really think Zhang Chenglin is some kind of easy-to-bully kitten?

Just as he expected, Zhang Chenglin learned about this while eating breakfast, and upon hearing it, he immediately stood up and overturned the table.

Having been by Zhang Chenglin's side for many years, he is actually not good at expressing his emotions, and he can endure many things.

Perhaps it was due to his upbringing, but whether he was out or at home, he always had a nonchalant attitude towards everything.

So this was the first time Xin Jie had ever seen someone flip a table like this, and even that first time was enough to shock him for many years to come.

“Go,” Zhang Chenglin said, his voice trembling slightly as he issued the order, “Have the people from Suqian and Tangshan make their move.”

Xin Jie was stunned after hearing this, but before he could respond, Zhang Chenglin spoke again: "I need the results before dinner tonight."

This suggests they're planning to openly demonstrate during the day.

Xin Jie reluctantly agreed, "Yes."

As Xinjie left, Fengyue immediately walked in from outside and stood next to Zhang Chenglin: "What's wrong? Why are you so angry again?"

“How can you be so careless when you’re just healed…” Feng Yue said, gently pulling his arm and leading him out. She kept talking softly all the way until she led him into the bedroom and made him sit on the bed before changing the subject: “You haven’t eaten much. I’ll go and cook you some more porridge.”

She had barely turned around, and hadn't even taken a step, when the person sitting on the bed suddenly reached out and grabbed her wrist, pulling her into his arms.

"You..." Before Feng Yue could finish speaking, Zhang Chenglin lowered his head and kissed her, swallowing all the remaining words.

Having known Zhang Chenglin for so long, this is only the second time he's been so fierce towards her, aside from the last time we talked about "old friends," as if he's really taking it out on her...

She had overheard some of what Xin Jie had said and knew how important Liu Tianhua was to her.

I never expected it would affect him to this extent.

He has never been a man of strong emotions, so his current behavior must be due to extreme anger.

Around noon, Fengyue woke up on his bed, gently rubbing her aching back before looking at the person sitting next to her against the headboard.

Zhang Chenglin's face was expressionless, his eyes filled with ruthlessness and coldness, as if he had just come out of the deepest hell.

Feng Yue reached out and gently stroked his cold brows and eyes, saying softly, "Don't be angry."

Zhang Chenglin glanced at her, opened his mouth, but said nothing.

Seeing him like this, Fengyue couldn't bear it. She propped herself up on her arms and planted a kiss on his lips.

"Fairy." Zhang Chenglin still didn't lower his head, but looked at her with a slight smile on his face.

However, the smile that lingered above the coldness and ruthlessness between his brows was truly chilling to behold.

"Why are you joking at a time like this?" Feng Yue pretended to scold him, reaching out to gently pinch the bridge of his nose.

“You’ve gotten bolder,” Zhang Chenglin said, grabbing her wrist and looking at her. “You’ve even dared to act arrogantly in front of me.”

Hearing his words, Fengyue laughed instead: "Then tell me, what do you want to do to me?"

Looking at her obviously fearless demeanor—a side she had never shown in front of him before—Zhang Chenglin couldn't help but pull her closer, resting his chin on her shoulder, and said in a low voice, "Thank you."

"Fengyue, thank you."

Feng Yue was taken aback, then reached out and gently patted the back of his head without saying anything.

Although Feng Yue never said anything, Zhang Chenglin understood perfectly well—

After Xinjie left, she disregarded his anger and boldly went into the main room to pull him away, chattering on and on all the way, just trying to distract him.

And then there's this matter... Because he'd been sick these past few days, she'd been personally taking care of him in every way. He'd only just recovered, and she'd strictly forbidden him from doing this. But just so he could temporarily put aside his troubles, she didn't say no.

Zhang Chenglin was truly grateful to her; she was such a wonderful person… But if asked whether he had ever even considered marrying her, he would be surprised.

His answer was absolutely yes—especially after learning that she was the old friend from Shanghai, he thought about her every moment and dreamed about her.

But how could someone like him deserve a home for her?

Before dinner, Xin Jie returned with the message that Zhang Cheng Lin had arranged for him to go there that morning.

"It's all been taken care of."

After saying this, Xin Jie quietly shrank to the side, trying to minimize his presence.

He had been to Zhang Chenglin's house countless times, and he had seen the house full of people before, but never before had he felt so breathless that he could hardly breathe.

"I understand." After a long while, Zhang Chenglin finally spoke, "You can go now."

"Okay." Xin Jie felt like he had been granted a pardon and rushed out.

At the entrance of the main room, Fengyue, who was carrying mung bean soup, came in and nodded as a greeting.

Suqian and Tangshan were the two most important strongholds among the "Eight Major Strongholds of the National Revolutionary Army". Almost all of Zhuang Yanbin's elite troops were stationed in the "Eight Major Strongholds of the National Revolutionary Army", and there were countless elite troops in Suqian and Tangshan. After all, although Zhuang Yanbin was in Shanghai, his base was still in Shandong. If something happened to him in Shandong, Suqian and Tangshan would always be the first to send people over.

This time, Zhang Chenglin directly cut off Zhuang Yanbin's two strongest arms, and did so in broad daylight. This shows that Zhang Chenglin may have genuinely considered going to Shanghai to take Zhuang Yanbin's head as a tribute to Liu Tianhua at some point.

Almost as soon as Zhang Chenglin made his move, Zhuang Yanbin received the news in Shanghai and immediately arranged a response plan.

But he still didn't expect Zhang Chenglin to act so quickly, giving him no time to react. His men were still on their way when the two strongholds in Suqian and Tangshan were completely wiped out.

This was the first time Zhuang Yanbin truly realized that Zhang Chenglin's strength far exceeded what he had thought.

It is certainly not as idle and inactive as the outside world perceives it to be.

"So what do we do next?" Han Lihun asked, standing behind Zhuang Yanbin.

"What can we do?" Zhuang Yanbin tapped his pipe to the side, his face cold and helpless. "He's showing off, and it's obvious that the power behind him is much stronger than ours. No wonder he's Old Zhang's son; he's definitely not someone to be trifled with."

Han Lihun stopped speaking abruptly, looking at Zhuang Yanbin's cold eyes, and said nothing more.

“Don’t go looking for trouble with him for now,” Jiang Rusu said as he strode in from outside, his expression not very pleasant. “I know my nephew well. Judging from his current attitude, if we provoke him again during this period, he’ll blow up the whole world.”

Jiang Rusu's words sounded like a joke.

But who are Jiang Rusu and Zhang Chenglin? Naturally, no one would think he was joking.

Based on Zhang Chenglin's current strength, if he wanted to blow up the world, it would probably only take him a few words.

After all, the soldiers from Suqian and Tangshan were truly the cream of the crop under Zhuang Yanbin and Jiang Ru's command. With just one sentence from Zhang Chenglin, they were completely wiped out without alerting anyone.

What about the things he hasn't revealed yet?

The more Zhuang Yanbin thought about it, the uglier his expression became, and in the end, he didn't even dare to think about it anymore.

Two days later, an auspicious day for burial.

Zhang Chenglin personally went to Shanghai to retrieve the ashes of Liu Tianhua and Shen Ningyi, and buried them next to Zhang Deyue's grave.

Zhang Chenglin stood in front of the grave, looking at the tombstone of Zhang Deyue, which had been buried two years ago, and the newly erected tombstones of Liu Tianhua and Shen Ningyi.

These three, once the most respected elders of the Kuomintang (KMT), now rest here in peace, no longer able to utter a single word within the KMT.

When will this broken world be illuminated by the righteous path?

Zhang Chenglin stood in front of the three tombstones for a long time, from sunrise to sunset, without moving or saying a word.

Seeing that there was no light on the horizon and that droplets of water were beginning to appear on the grass beside him, Xin Jie couldn't help but step forward and remind him, "Sir, let's go back first, it's getting late."

Zhang Chenglin turned to look at him and nodded.

After that day, Zhang Chenglin and Ji Yuxing went to Shanghai again. What kind of romantic escapades they went to do is unknown and unnecessary to know.

However, Zhang Chenglin was not in Shandong, so she naturally couldn't stay at Zhang Chenglin's residence indefinitely. In any case, she still had to return to Huayue Tower.

"Oh my, my little darling, you're finally back." As soon as Fengyue entered the door, Aunt Rong immediately greeted her with a smile, looking at Fengyue with great joy.

Feng Yue nodded gently, a smile on her face, and greeted her, "Aunt Rong."
