Chapter 25 [VIP]
Han Shu had just stepped into Jielang when spring scenery greeted him.
"I heard from Xiao Yang that you came to see me the night before last. I'm so sorry—" Seeing Wen Zhiyu behind Han Shu, Chun Jing almost stammered, then changed the subject, "Are you two taking class together today?"
Wen Zhiyu nodded as a greeting, "No."
Seeing his aloof and distant attitude, Han Shu thought to herself, "What a hypocrite!" But she had no choice but to speak up for him, "He came with me; he doesn't have class. Do you have any seats near the power outlets?"
“Yes,” Chunjing said, leading the two around a potted plant that could be called a tree. “This way.”
Han Shu was so nervous about the classes and the dark-skinned men during her last visit that she didn't realize the club actually had a hidden gem inside. Rounding the corner beside the bar, the view suddenly opened up, offering a panoramic view of the sea.
Chunjing pointed to the window closest to the window, "Here."
Wen Zhiyu said thank you, walked over and sat down, took out his laptop from his laptop, and nodded to Han Shu, "I'll wait for you here."
Han Shu nodded and, after returning to the bar with Chun Jing, said, "Could you please give him a glass of lemonade? I'll have a latte."
Chunjing's gaze swept over her for a moment before drifting behind her, her smile carrying a deeper meaning.
The window facing the sea is like a landscape painting hanging on the wall, framing the refreshing blue sky and also the focused silhouette of the man.
Han Shu's alarm bells rang loudly, waving his hands at a rate comparable to a coffee grinder, "No, no, please don't misunderstand!"
Chun Jing continued applying powder with her hands, "What misunderstanding?"
"..." Han Shu stiffened his neck, "Anyway, we have nothing."
Springtime scenery smiles but remains silent.
Han Shu suddenly thought of something very important. Chun Jing knew she was single, and Wen Zhiyu often came to the store. Although he wouldn't bring it up himself due to his aloof personality, what if...?
"Um... I'm really sorry, but could I ask you for a favor?"
Seeing her cautious demeanor, Chun Jing put down the milk cup, placed her hands on the bar counter, and said, "Go ahead."
Han Shu found it difficult to speak, so she lowered her voice, "For various reasons, I have to maintain the image of being married and having children in front of him... Please keep this a secret for me!"
"Married and with children?" Chun Jing was stunned. "He believed it?"
"hold head high."
"...Does he have bad eyesight?"
Han Shu was stunned for a moment, "Huh?"
The two stared at each other for a moment, then Chunjing smiled and shook her head, "Okay, it'll be a secret."
Relieved, Han Shu finished his coffee and went into the sea with Coach Xiao Yu.
Today was another spectacular freestyle wrestling show, but because I was mentally prepared, I didn't experience the same breakdown and helplessness as in the first lesson. I even had the energy to joke with the coach after climbing back onto the board, soaking wet from the fall.
"Didn't your entry into the water just now resemble a three-meter diving springboard?"
Xiao Yu held onto the tail of the board, saying, "It's like jumping off a three-meter building."
"..."
That hurts.
"Again! Ready!"
As the waves crashed against the surfboard, they gently brushed against Han Shu's hands, which were braced against his chest, before quietly receding.
"three--"
Han Shu tightened her core, blinked, and shook the water droplets off her eyelashes.
"two--"
A sea breeze was blowing from behind, foreshadowing the approaching waves.
"one!"
Han Shu took a deep breath, braced himself with his arms and feet, and the white walls and black tiles of the Jielang Shore came into view.
The tightness in her chest dissipated, and an indescribable sense of exhilaration swept through her body and slowly seeped into her bones via the sea breeze that brushed against her fingertips, the seawater that felt as solid as the earth beneath her surfboard, and the gentle morning sunlight that fell on her cheeks.
She rides the waves, her eyes fixed straight ahead.
Behind him, Xiaoyu shouted, "Yes! Yes! Keep it up—"
As the waves shifted near the beach, Han Shu lost his balance and tumbled violently into the sea.
She seemed to have bumped her knee, but didn't feel any pain. After standing up, she waved to Xiaoyu, "I'm standing up! Aren't you standing up!"
Xiao Yu helped her pull the overturned surfboard back, walked over, and raised his hand, "Yes! Congratulations!"
Two palms clapping together, the splashing water droplets shimmered in the sunlight.
"Yeeeees!!!"
"Enjoy your lemonade."
Chun Jing placed the glass next to Wen Zhiyu, picked up the tray and was about to leave when she saw the man who had been so engrossed in his work that he was oblivious to the crowds and noise around him, now raising his head and staring intently ahead.
There were quite a few people surfing today. Following her gaze, she looked around for a while and finally saw Han Shu smiling broadly, jumping and high-fiving Xiao Yu.
Chun Jing's heart stirred, and she looked at the man's petrified profile again, only to find a faint smile on his lips, which she hadn't even noticed before.
She unconsciously curled her lips and was about to leave quietly when her elbow bumped into the wooden shelf where the plants were displayed, making a dull thud.
Upon hearing this, Wen Zhiyu turned around, his smile vanished without a trace, and his half-closed eyes held only indifference and confusion.
Chunjing pointed to the table and said, "Lemonade, that's what she asked for."
Wen Zhiyu looked over, paused for a moment, and then said, "Thank you."
—His appearance and the appearance of lemonade.
As they spoke, Zhiyu's gaze swept over Han Shu and Coach Xiaoyu without finding them, before he adjusted his glasses and continued.
A surfing lesson takes two hours.
Back at JieLang, Wen Zhiyu was still typing away on the keyboard, seemingly having a sudden burst of inspiration.
She crept closer and suddenly patted his shoulder, "Hey!"
Wen Zhiyu was not startled at all, and didn't even turn his head. "The screen is reflecting light, I can see you."
"How boring." Han Shu pouted sullenly. "Are you done with your work?"
"No." Wen Zhiyu closed his laptop with a backhand. "Let's go, we'll write it when we get back."
Seeing this, Han Shu quickly stopped him, "Wait, wait."
"Is there anything else?" Wen Zhiyu turned around and then saw the girl's attire clearly.
Han Shu was still wearing a one-piece swimsuit, long-sleeved shorts, and wet sand still clung to his slender, white legs. He averted his gaze as if burned, only to meet a pair of wet, almond-shaped eyes. His hand, hanging limply at his side, had its fingertips curling uncontrollably.
"Teacher Wen, I feel really bad about staying at your house and getting free meals and drinks, plus being driven around all the time," Han Shu said with a smile, blinking her eyes. "How about giving me a chance to repay you?"
Wen Zhiyu put his hands in his pockets and said, "No need."
"Listen to this first!" Han Shu leaned closer. "Did you see me stand up on the surfboard just now?"
Yes, congratulations.
"Isn't that amazing?"
"……sharp."
"Then I'll give you a chance to be as good as me!" Han Shu clapped his hands. "I've booked a class for you, starting in ten minutes."
Wen Zhiyu raised both eyebrows simultaneously. "What?"
"Want to try out a class?" Han Shu stretched out his hand, which had been hidden behind his back. "Here, a swimsuit. I carefully selected it at great expense."
Wen Zhiyu took the plastic bag, picked up a piece of fabric with two long, slender fingers, and stared blankly at it. "A huge sum of money, carefully selected?"
White shirt and black trousers vs. red swim trunks—Han Shu almost burst out laughing.
Thankfully, she pinched her thigh to stop herself from doing so, and explained seriously, "This fabric is the most comfortable, and there are also tight pants inside to prevent wardrobe malfunctions. See how thoughtful that is?"
Wen Zhiyu raised his hand and threw it back, "No need, I'm not going."
"Oh dear, since you're already here!" Han Shu forcefully shoved the ball into his hand. "I have an interview to do, but there are no students this morning. If you don't go, we'll have to wait, and we might not be able to go back until six or seven in the afternoon."
Wen Zhiyu, a typical otaku, was torn between going home eight hours late and wearing red swimming trunks. Before he could come to a decision, Han Shusheng dragged him into the changing room.
I'll be waiting for you outside!
It was completely silent inside.
Han Shu then returned to the bar and burst into laughter.
Who told him to buy that Northeastern floral-patterned jacket? She has to get revenge today!
Chun Jing tilted her head to look at her, "You two aren't related?"
Han Shu's smile vanished instantly. "No, no, it was just a prank."
“Okay.” Chunjing handed her the camera and an umbrella. “It’s sunny, so sit on the beach and take pictures while holding the umbrella.”
"Thank you." Han Shu hung the camera around his neck, turned it on to take a test shot, and adjusted the parameters as he went.
The camera rotates 360 degrees.
Through the viewfinder, she captured images of green leaves swaying in the sea breeze, a half-finished iced latte by the window, a surfboard still covered in sand, and...
Han Shu slowly peeked out from behind the camera.
The man's bare upper body was muscular and toned, and his red swim trunks, far from being tacky, actually accentuated his fair skin, making him stand out like a bright spot among the group of dark-skinned men. She even forgot why she had bought the swim trunks in the first place, and sighed with genuine admiration.
Indeed, the success of a fashion statement depends on one's appearance!
As Wen Zhiyu emerged from the dressing room, he was immediately met with stares from all directions. He forced himself not to cover his chest with his discarded shirt and trousers, and awkwardly walked over.
Chun Jing tapped the bar with a smile, "Wow, what a stylish swim trunk, handsome!"
"..." Wen Zhiyu subtly moved closer to Han Shu, pursing her lips without saying a word.
Han Shu remained silent.
She forgot she was still pressing the shutter button, staring intently at Wen Zhiyu's shoulders and neck. As someone who had never been in a relationship, the only thing she knew about her sexual preferences was the veins on a man's neck and arms.
Wen Zhiyu was probably nervous at the moment; his neck was throbbing at a visible frequency, with the veins on his neck rising and falling.
Wen Zhiyu raised his hand and waved it in front of her eyes. "Shall we go?"
Han Shu hurriedly jumped off the bar stool, trying to cover up his momentary daze, "Let's go, Coach Xiaoyu!"
"Hey!" Xiaoyu gulped down half a glass of water. "Let's go."
The three headed towards the beach, attracting increasing attention.
Xiaoyu walked ahead carrying the surfboard, Han Shu followed behind holding an umbrella, and Wen Zhiyu stayed close to her, refusing to move aside even when poked by the edge of the umbrella.
Han Shu was both amused and exasperated. "Hey, why are you hiding?"
"Cough." Wen Zhiyu tugged at the hem of his swimming trunks. "It's nothing."
After walking for a while, Wen Zhiyu bent down and crawled under the umbrella.
Han Shu: ?
"Is it really necessary? What's wrong with people looking at your muscles?"
Wen Zhiyu tugged at the hem of her swimming trunks again, "I'm not used to it."
Han Shu assumed he was just shy and patted his arm to comfort him, saying, "Hey, look, Coach Xiaoyu is also shirtless and in his swim trunks, and look over there—look, they're all like that."
Wen Zhiyu sighed, "Could you please find me a bath towel before I get ashore?"
Han Shu found a suitable spot for taking pictures, plopped down, and put the umbrella on his shoulder. "I have an extra towel. I'll give you one when we get back to the club."
"A bath towel," Wen Zhiyu insisted. "Give it to me as soon as we get ashore."
Han Shu was speechless. "Why are you being so fussy, you grown man? What's the difference between a towel and a bath towel?"
Coach Xiaoyu had already set up the surfboards and was calling people over for lessons.
Wen Zhiyu had just taken a step when he heard this and stopped, his cheeks slightly flushed. He tugged at his swimming trunks again, both angry and speechless, but also embarrassed, and said something quickly and softly.
Han Shu didn't hear him clearly, so she opened the umbrella and looked up at him, "What did you say?"
"..." Wen Zhiyu almost broke his back teeth from biting so hard, and in a fit of despair, he said, "I said, the swim trunks you bought are too small!"
Han Shu's eyeballs moved downwards at a speed of millimeters.
She jumped up, tripped over the umbrella handle, and cried out in pain. She hopped on one foot while rubbing her toe, her gaze darting around. But even without looking at Wen Zhiyu, the scene from before was still deeply etched in her mind.
Do they still have swim trunks in any size? Aren't they supposed to be one size fits all? Help!
How come she didn't notice him when he came out of the locker room? With so many people looking at him, could they have all seen him?
Help! ! !
She is guilty.
She has committed heinous crimes.
She deserves to be torn to pieces.
Seeing her dazed expression and her bouncing around like a monkey playing in the water, Wen Zhiyu frowned and asked, "Are you alright?"
Han Shu turned around and ran away, "I'm so sorry! I'll go find it for you right away!"
