Hearing his grandmother's words, Yiming stuck out his tongue guiltily, but Zhiwan seemed to have thought of something and grabbed his collar.
"Tell me, where were the noodles sent?"
It turned out that it wasn't his grandmother who asked him to deliver noodles to Leng Chuchen. He had taken it upon himself to lie to his grandmother, saying that his mother hadn't eaten breakfast and that he was going to deliver noodles to her. That's how he managed to trick his grandmother into giving him a bowl of noodles.
Actually, he took the bowl of noodles next door and gave it to Leng Chuchen.
Luo Zhiwan had already guessed most of it in her heart, but she had to wait for him to admit it in person.
Seeing his mother's distress, Yiming quickly looked at his grandmother with pleading eyes.
Zhiwan knew his ulterior motives perfectly well, and she rebuked him sternly again:
"Luo Yiming, if you don't tell the truth today, no one can help you. I'll lock you up and you're never allowed to leave the house again..."
As soon as she said this, Yiming hurriedly said:
"Mom, don't lock it, don't lock it, I'll talk, I'll talk."
Seeing that he finally gave in, Zhiwan let go of his collar.
"Tell me, who did you send that bowl of noodles to?"
Yiming lowered his head and said in a low, aggrieved voice:
"I delivered it to Uncle Chen next door..."
It seems she was right. This little kid actually lied to his family just to bring Leng Chuchen a bowl of noodles, which really made her angry.
Seeing her expression turn sour, Yiming quickly tried to explain in a conciliatory manner.
"Mother, Uncle Chen is so pitiful. He hasn't eaten for three days and he's become so thin and pale from hunger. You're beautiful and kind-hearted, you can't just watch him starve to death. Besides, he helped us before, so it's only right that I bring him some food!"
"I won't say anything if you want to give the neighbor a bowl of noodles. I'm not a stingy person. But why did you lie to them? If Grandma hadn't mentioned it, would you have just gotten away with it like this?"
Hearing her mother's scolding, Yiming pouted, her eyes brimming with tears, but she didn't dare to cry out loud.
"Mom, I know I was wrong. I promise I won't lie again."
Seeing that Yiming was about to cry, Jiawang's mother quickly stepped in to smooth things over.
"Alright, alright, Yiming knows he was wrong. Come and eat, let's not talk about him anymore."
At this point, she turned back to look at Yiming.
“If you want to do something in the future, you can just say so directly. You don’t have to be so secretive. It’s not a big deal for you to deliver a bowl of noodles to your neighbor. Why do you have to do this?”
"Wow!"
After holding it in for a long time, Yiming finally couldn't help but burst into tears.
"Grandma, I know I was wrong. I was worried about Uncle Chen these past few days because he hadn't eaten, so I thought of bringing him a bowl of noodles. But I was afraid Mom would be angry, so I came up with this idea. I was wrong, and I'll never do it again."
Seeing that Yiming had admitted his mistake, Zhiwan quickly stepped forward to hug him, gently patted his back, and comforted him:
"Yiming, don't lie anymore. Lying is not the way of a good child."
"mother……"
Yiming wrapped his chubby little hands around her arm and nodded affectionately.
"Mom, I'll remember. Can I go visit Uncle Chen more often in the future? Can I bring him a bowl of Grandma's cooking? If you feel it's inappropriate, I can just eat less or not eat at all. Uncle Chen is really pitiful."
Yiming's words left Luo Zhiwan feeling both amused and exasperated.
What exactly did Leng Chuchen say to Yiming that made Yiming feel so sorry for him?
However, she really couldn't bear to refuse Yiming's offer.
She thought to herself that perhaps it was the blood relationship that made Yiming so affectionate towards Leng Chuchen!
Some relationships are simply beyond her control.
"Alright, Yiming, let's eat first. The shop has been very busy these past few days, and we'll have more patients coming in soon."
Yiming grinned and nodded, then took her hand and sat down at the stone table in the courtyard to eat with his family.
In the afternoon, Zhiwan made a special trip to Leng Chuchen's fabric shop. As soon as she entered, Li Ping called out...
"Miss Luo, what brings you here? Please come in..."
Her arrival surprised Li Ping.
Hu Ke also warmly greeted them.
"Miss Luo, my young master is in the backyard. Let me take you there!"
Thank you.
She did not refuse and followed Hu Ke straight to the backyard.
As soon as they arrived in the backyard, Hu Ke couldn't wait to shout loudly.
"Young master, Miss Luo has arrived, young master..."
Leng Chuchen was sleeping in the room when he heard Hu Ke's shout. He sat up abruptly and eagerly opened the door.
When he saw Luo Zhiwan come to find him, although he was very excited, he still pretended to be calm and waved to Hu Ke.
"Go down!"
Hu Ke nodded knowingly, then quickly turned and headed straight for the front yard.
Seeing Hu Ke leave, he took a few steps towards her and asked in surprise:
"Miss Luo, what brings you to my place?"
Zhiwan had no interest in chatting with him and went straight to the point:
"What did you say to Yiming?"
Yiming?
He blinked a few times, then shook his head.
"He didn't say anything!"
"Were you playing the victim in front of Yiming?"
ah?
When this matter was brought up, he was indeed somewhat in the wrong, because he had indeed played the victim in front of Yiming.
However, he stubbornly shrugged.
"No, Yiming brought me a bowl of noodles, which I ate with relish. We chatted for a bit, and that was all."
“Leng Chuchen, I don’t care what you said to Yiming, I hope you don’t take advantage of his sympathy. He’s only three years old and doesn’t have the ability to distinguish right from wrong.”
