The next day
After a night's rest, Leng Chuchen felt a bit more energetic, but her wound was even more painful.
He sat on the bed, gritting his teeth, sweat pouring down his forehead.
Seeing him in so much pain, Li Ping rushed over to ask what was wrong.
"Young master, what's wrong with you?"
He gritted his teeth and shook his head.
"It's alright, it'll be over soon. You and Hu Ke should hurry and rent a temporary place. Since someone is trying to kill us, they'll definitely come back. We can't let the inn and the Luo family clinic get involved."
"Young master, I'll go find her. Tell Ke'er to stay and keep you company."
"No need, you can split up and search. More people will be faster. I'm fine."
"But you haven't eaten yet. Let me go buy you some porridge."
"I'm not hungry."
He was in so much pain that sweat was pouring down his forehead, and he had no appetite at all.
Just then, Jiawang walked in from the doorway, carrying a tray. He entered the room and said directly:
"Gentlemen, my mother has just cooked some porridge and eggs. Please eat!"
Hu Ke hurriedly ran over, took the tray with the bowls of porridge from his hands, and kept talking.
"Thank you so much."
Jiawang shook his head and chuckled.
"No need to thank me. My mother said that it's not easy for you to be away from home, so we should help you out whenever we can."
After saying this, Jiawang waved to them.
"I still have to go to school, you guys take your time eating!"
Seeing Jiawang leave, Hu Ke hurriedly brought the bowl of porridge to him.
"Young master, let me feed you something."
Leng Chuchen looked up and glared at him.
"I'm not hungry, take it away."
"Young master, Aunt Luo is just being kind, please eat some, it will help your wound heal."
"I said I'm not hungry, take it away..."
His voice suddenly rose, and just then, Luo Zhiwan pushed open the door and entered.
She frowned slightly and walked up to Leng Chuchen.
"Lie down, it's time to change the dressing."
Her tone was harsh and impatient, which made Leng Chuchen feel very uncomfortable.
He, the crown prince of a nation, is to live a life of being bossed around? That's a huge joke.
Although he was indignant, he obediently lay down with Li Ping's help.
Who told him to be injured now, and to be facing his savior?
"Isn't the dressing changed every three days?" he couldn't help but ask.
As she removed the gauze from his wound, her brow furrowed slightly when she saw the red mole, and she replied in a cold voice,
"Get well soon, leave here as soon as possible. This is a clinic, not an inn."
Leng Chuchen frowned deeply and tentatively asked:
"Miss Luo, my grandmother is really very ill. Could you please go and save her?"
His voice was so gentle that both Li Ping and Hu Ke looked at him with disbelief.
When has he ever spoken to anyone so gently? It seems like never.
Luo Zhiwan, however, showed him no respect whatsoever, replying without hesitation:
"I won't make house calls; please find someone more capable!"
"But I have consulted many doctors about my grandmother's illness, and they have all been helpless. I have heard that you are a skilled doctor, young lady. Could you please make an exception?"
After asking the question, he looked up at her. Her delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly, and her beautiful face revealed a hint of indifference.
He didn't understand why she was so cold to him.
"If you're angry because I almost hurt Yiming the day I came to Phoenix City, I apologize. But as a doctor, you can't just stand by and watch a patient go untreated. My grandmother's illness..."
"alright……"
Before he could finish speaking, she had already quickly changed his dressing and started packing his things.
"Dr. Luo..."
His voice suddenly rose, and he gestured for Li Ping, who was standing to the side, to come and help him.
Li Ping didn't dare to delay and ran over to help him up. He glanced coldly at Luo Zhiwan.
"Everyone says that Doctor Luo is kind-hearted and a good doctor who saves lives, but I don't know what I did to offend you so much that you are so indifferent to me. Now my grandmother is seriously ill and urgently needs your treatment. Why can't you help her?"
Seeing the dissatisfaction in his tone, she stopped what she was doing, looked up at him with her beautiful eyes, and said, word by word:
"If your grandmother had been born in Phoenix City, I could make an exception and go to treat her. But since she's in the capital, I won't go. The Celestial Empire is so vast, and there are so many patients. If I were to visit every sick person, I wouldn't be able to handle it all, even if I had eight hands. You don't need to bring this up again, and I won't answer you anymore."
Leaving behind this emotionless remark, she turned and left.
Only after the door closed did Li Ping angrily mutter to himself towards the doorway:
“She’s just a doctor, what’s there to be arrogant about? Young master, why don’t we reveal our identities and forcibly take her back, and see if she dares to disobey? Or we can go back to the capital and report that she’s just a quack doctor and has no ability to cure the Empress Dowager’s illness.”
Leng Chuchen's gaze darkened, and she looked up at him.
"What should we do about the Empress Dowager's illness? Who can cure her?"
This problem is indeed very difficult to solve.
Now, throughout the entire Celestial Empire, everyone with some medical skills has gone to the palace to try, but no one can cure the Empress Dowager's illness.
Although we cannot guarantee that this physician from Luoyang can cure the Empress Dowager's illness, how can we know without trying?
Thinking of this, he raised his hand with a serious expression.
"Get me paper and a pen..."
Hu Ke glanced at Li Ping and asked curiously:
"Young master, what's going on?"
“Write to Father Emperor and ask him to send someone to bring Grandmother to Phoenix City.”
"Absolutely not."
Hu Ke and Li Ping blurted it out in unison.
