Chapter 56 Gossip Spreads

He seemed to be enjoying it, his eyes slightly narrowed.

This scene reminded her of that night four years ago, when he seemed to have kissed her forcefully in the same way, then taken her without leaving her any dignity, and without even asking if she was willing.

She suddenly raised her leg and, with her knee, viciously struck his most vulnerable spot. He immediately recoiled, his face contorted, and took a few steps back. He then raised his hand to cover that area, frowning as he looked at her.

"Luo Zhiwan, you woman..."

Her face was ashen, and she warned sharply:

"Chu Chen, stay away from me from now on. My reputation isn't good. Don't end up getting yourself into trouble instead of getting anything out of me..."

After saying those words, she turned and left. He watched her retreating figure, his brows furrowed tightly.

He didn't know when it started, but he felt like he had fallen for this woman who was despised by everyone. In fact, the more indifferent she was to him, the more he wanted to conquer her.

The warmth of her lips was still lingering on her tongue, but little did she know that this scene would be witnessed by a few gullible women on Yanglin Street.

Chu Chen's family is wealthy; he casually bought a large mansion in Phoenix City, and now Luo Zhiwan is seducing him in the street.

The news quickly spread through Liulin Lane and Yanglin Street.

Upon hearing this news, Luo Tianhe angrily paced back and forth in the room with his hands behind his back.

Yiming rested his hands on his chin, his large eyes constantly moving as he moved.

Jiawang's mother waved her hand impatiently.

"Please sit down for a while, it's giving me a headache."

"How can I sit here? The whole alley is buzzing about it now, how can I possibly sit still?"

"We'll know what happened when Zhiwan gets back. All this pacing around is making me dizzy."

At that moment, Yiming grinned, raising his eyebrows triumphantly.

"Grandpa, Grandma, I think this is a good thing. Anyway, my father is unmarried and my mother is unmarried. It's perfect that they're together!"

"Shut up."

Yiming is three years old, and this is the first time Luo Tianhe has ever yelled at him so loudly.

He pointed at him, giving a stern reminder.

"Luo Yiming, let me tell you, if I ever hear you call someone surnamed Chu 'father' again, I'll sew your mouth shut."

Seeing his grandfather get angry at him, Yiming pouted, wanting to cry, but didn't dare to make a sound.

Seeing this, Grandma rushed over, picked him up, and scolded him repeatedly:

"Why are you yelling at the kids? You're getting more and more temperamental as you get older."

At this point, she glanced outside and muttered a few more words to herself.

"Just like your mother, she believes everything she hears. When she hears others saying bad things about Zhiwan, can't she say something back? She's still angry, thinking Zhiwan is embarrassing her. Why doesn't she say anything when Zhiwan makes her look good? She eats Zhiwan's food and drinks Zhiwan's drinks, why doesn't she mention that?"

"alright."

Luo Tianhe raised his hand impatiently.

"Your temper has really grown these past few years. Before, whatever my mother said went, but now that your daughter has become more assertive, you've straightened your back too, haven't you?"

After he said that, Jiawang's mother, holding Jiawang in her arms, straightened her neck and replied proudly:

“You’re right. Ever since the government sent the plaque, no one in this alley has dared to speak ill of Zhiwan to my face, and no one has bullied me anymore. How can I not stand tall?”

Luo Tianhe waved his hand impatiently.

"I can't explain it to you. I'm going to find her now."

"You are not allowed to go."

Jiawang's mother quickly took two steps and blocked his way.

"There are many patients these days, so don't go and cause trouble for the child. You can ask about it when you get back."

Luo Tianhe hesitated for a moment, then replied helplessly:

"Okay, can I go outside for a walk?"

Jiawang's mother then made way for him, and he flicked his sleeves and stepped out the door.

Yiming looked at his grandmother with great confusion.

"Why is Grandpa angry? My father... I mean, isn't Young Master Chu good enough?"

Jiawang's mother raised her hand and gently pressed the tip of his nose.

"Children don't understand adult matters, but remember from now on, you can't call Young Master Chu 'father' anymore. It's very impolite, understand?"

Yiming pouted and nodded, seemingly understanding but not quite.

"I see."

His mother hadn't let him go out for half a month. He looked at his grandmother with a pitiful expression.

"Grandma, look, it looks like I've grown horns on my head?"

Grandma looked at him in horror, then reached out and touched his forehead.

"No, where are the horns? Don't scare Grandma!"

Yiming pursed his lips and chuckled:

"I mean, if Grandma doesn't let me go out to play, these horns will grow out!"

"You brat."

Grandma couldn't resist patting him on the head, then said mysteriously:

"Okay, you go play in the back street for a while. Grandma will cook first and call you when it's ready."

Yiming was overjoyed and danced with joy. He raised his mouth and gave his grandmother a big kiss on the cheek.

Grandma was beaming with joy, but she didn't forget to remind her...

"You can only play at the entrance, you can't go far, understand?"

Yiming nodded hurriedly.

"I understand. I'll just stay outside for some fresh air and be right back."

After leaving those words, he rushed towards the back door. Jiawang's mother watched his retreating figure, gave a helpless bitter smile, and turned to go to the kitchen to cook.

In the evening, Zhiwan and Zhiruo returned to the backyard, and Luo Tianhe immediately called Zhiwan into the house.

Zhiwan knew that her father had called her over because there had been more and more gossip about her and Leng Chuchen in the alley these past few days, and it was getting more and more outlandish, to the point that someone said they saw her and Leng Chuchen taking off their clothes in the street.

She was speechless about it, but she didn't care; she was already used to these gossips.
