After Tang Rumeng entered the house, Leng Chuchen already knew her purpose. He glanced at her and nodded in acknowledgment.
"Please..."
Tang Rumeng slowly made her way to the bedside, each step heavy and laborious.
When she came to the bedside, she immediately saw the jade pendant hanging around her neck. She instantly covered her mouth, forcing herself not to cry out.
Just as she was about to lift her clothes, Leng Chuchen stepped forward to stop her.
What are you going to do?
She answered, her voice choked with emotion.
“My daughter has a birthmark on her right back shoulder. I want to check if she has one on her body.”
Hearing her say that, Leng Chuchen asked directly:
"Is it crescent-shaped?"
Tang Rumeng stared at him with wide eyes.
"What did you say?"
“I told her she had a crescent-shaped birthmark on her right shoulder. I asked her about it, and she said it was from birth. She even joked that maybe one day someone would come looking for her because of the birthmark.”
Upon hearing this, Tang Rumeng burst into tears. In disbelief, she lifted her collar, and when she saw the crescent-shaped birthmark on her shoulder, she covered her mouth again, managing to keep herself from crying out.
She raised her hand and gently touched the birthmark, her thoughts returning to the scene when she left her in the grove outside Phoenix City.
"child……"
She called out softly, but tears were already streaming down her face.
When she confirmed that Luo Zhiwan was indeed her daughter, Emperor Wei angrily rebuked Emperor Leng:
“She is my daughter, my daughter. Who says she has no status or position? Who says she is just an ordinary citizen? You people are really looking down on people.”
Upon hearing this, the Cold Emperor was stunned, and Empress Qi could hardly believe it.
However, at this moment, she was too frightened to say anything more. She was afraid that the Emperor Wei would blame her for injuring Luo Zhiwan and thus punish the Heavenly Dynasty. The Emperor would then place all the blame on her.
While waiting for Zhiwan to wake up, Zhiruo sat slumped weakly under the tree by the door.
If the eldest sister inexplicably becomes the daughter of the emperor of the Southern Yuan Kingdom, then she can be exempted from punishment.
However, she felt a strange, indescribable bitterness in her heart.
"Ruo'er..."
Wei Tiancheng couldn't help but come to find her. When she saw him, she got up and prepared to leave, but he grabbed her hand.
'Ruo'er, I'm sorry.'
She forcefully shook off his hand.
“Your Highness, you are a prince of the Southern Yuan Kingdom, of noble status. How can you apologize to a commoner like me? You are truly making me feel ashamed.”
"Ruo'er, don't say that."
"Don't call me, I don't know you."
As she was speaking, she tried to turn around, but he grabbed her hand again...
"Ruo'er, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to lie to you. I have my reasons. Please let me explain."
"I'm sorry, I don't know you. Although you look a lot like Mo Kai, whom I know, you are not him. He is dead."
Finally, she shook off his hand and turned to leave.
If she weren't worried about her older sister's health, she would want to leave right now and never see this man again.
However, when she thought of the past, she still couldn't help but burst into tears.
This Wei Tiancheng, he really fooled her so badly.
His name is fake, his identity is fake. He's lived in the Crown Prince's residence for so long, he probably recognized her long ago, but he doesn't acknowledge her. Haha!
It seems that all of this was fake, and all those touching words he said before were lies.
She thought it was a huge joke.
She was pregnant with someone else's child, but the person dared not acknowledge her as their child.
She gently stroked her lower abdomen, looked up at the sky, and tried her best not to let tears fall from her eyes.
Luo Zhi woke up late at night.
When she opened her eyes and saw Tang Rumeng sitting by the bed, she thought she was dreaming.
She glanced at the ceiling above the bed, and when she confirmed that this was indeed her bed, she turned her head again and heard Tang Rumeng's gentle and refined voice.
"You're awake?"
She asked in surprise,
"Who are you?"
Tang Rumeng suddenly burst into tears. She grabbed her hand and looked at her with heartache.
“My name is Tang Rumeng. Twenty-five years ago, I abandoned a child near a grove of trees outside Phoenix City. The child had a crescent-shaped birthmark on her right shoulder, and there was a purple jade pendant with a dragon pattern next to her…”
At this point, she was already sobbing uncontrollably, and Luo Zhiwan instantly understood what was going on.
"You...who are you?"
Tang Rumeng nodded.
“I am your biological mother. It was my fault for abandoning you back then. My child, I am sorry for making you suffer all these years.”
This scene left Luo Zhiwan momentarily stunned.
All she remembered was being beaten with a board in the main hall. How come she woke up with another mother?
"Then...who is my father?"
She was quite concerned about this issue because she understood that she was now in the Crown Prince's residence, and this woman wouldn't be summoned to the Crown Prince's residence to be her mother for no reason.
Tang Rumeng raised her handkerchief to wipe the corner of her eyes and began to tell her about her past with Emperor Wei.
Finally, she grasped her hand and choked back tears, saying:
"My child, I'm sorry. I know you'll be angry with me. I'm so sorry."
She narrowed her eyes, sat up abruptly from the bed, and stared blankly at Tang Rumeng.
"Wait, this happened so suddenly, let me process this for a bit."
Tang Rumeng blinked a few times and then nodded.
"You don't need to rush to acknowledge me as your mother. It's your mother who has wronged you. Your mother has no right to demand that you acknowledge me now."
Zhiwan looked at her suspiciously, "You just said that my biological father is the emperor of the Southern Yuan Kingdom?"
