Chapter 259 Summer Story

“He has more important things to do. I can handle this myself. After all, someone like Teacher Jin shouldn’t be dealing with such trivial matters.” Shang Ning chuckled. Teacher Jin was protecting her life. Apart from her life, everything else was insignificant.

Summer seemed to want to say something, but in the end she didn't, saying, "Just let me know if you need any help."

Shang Ning nodded, then, remembering it was on the phone, replied, "Actually, I've always wanted to ask you why you're helping me so much? After all, I dragged you and your father into this last time."

After a moment of silence, Shang Ning wondered if she had asked someone something they didn't want to talk about.

“I used to have a really good friend,” Xia Tian said, though her mood was a little down. “She really liked a celebrity and did a lot of things for him. Because of her liking him, she learned a lot of skills, such as video editing, image processing, and even how to write her own web pages. So she became a fan site manager for that celebrity and even made it her career because she wanted to improve herself.”

"Then what?"

"Once, she posted a photo of her idol with another male actor and said something. She was then subjected to cyberbullying by that star's fans, who were also her fans. Later, she committed suicide."

Shang Ning: "..."

Shang Ning opened her mouth, but suddenly felt that the story was a bit unbearable.

"You should have seen that photo, the inaugural photo of the 'Qin-Jin Alliance'." Xia Tian's voice was cool and sarcastic.

Shang Ning lowered her eyes, her fingertips tapping on the windowpane, the taps slowly sliding down with the rainwater outside.

"So I'm not helping you, I'm just helping myself." Xia Tian said, seemingly helpless. Over the years, she edited videos of Qin Jinzhi's relationship, which was actually more of a revenge against the fans who drove her friend to suicide, and it was more of a rebellious act.

Moreover, she has no ability to do anything else besides this.

So when she saw Ning Kong step forward, she chose to help him.

There are also components that are utilized.

Shang Ning's fingertips felt slightly cool, and the people on the other side quieted down.

"But both your videos and what you did later really helped me a lot, thank you." Shang Ning smiled frankly, "You used me to do what you wanted to do, and I used you to accomplish what I wanted to do. I think this is called mutual benefit, not mutual exploitation."

The person on the other end chuckled softly, and Shang Ning laughed along with them.

Sometimes, friendship with a clear purpose is the purest form of friendship, as it avoids leaving any emotional debts or causing any worries.

When Lian Jingyan rushed home, Jin Xujing was already waiting for her.

She handed the umbrella to the maid, glancing at Jin Xujing, whose face was still grim. This sister-in-law was usually reluctant to come to the house because she had always looked down on her and felt that she was not good enough for Jin Xuguo.

"Xu Jing, wait a moment, I'm going upstairs to change my clothes."

"I don't know what's so great about being a teacher. Is the Jin family unable to support you?" Jin Xujing sneered.

"Auntie really likes to contradict herself. When my mother was home, who said that my mother was being supported by your Jin family?" Chen Yiyang came downstairs and sneered.

Lian Jingyan squeezed her daughter's wrist, telling her not to talk nonsense, and went upstairs to change her clothes.

"What are you saying? Is this how your mother taught you to talk to your elders?" Jin Xujing slammed her hand on the table, looking at her niece who had always been at odds with her.

No, she can't really be considered her niece.

"You haven't done what an elder should do, so why should you expect others to respect you?" Chen Yiyang retorted without any politeness.
