Chapter 317 A Glance Back

"We happen to have some free time recently, so why don't you and Uncle see if there's anywhere you'd like to go?" Qin Wei asked with a smile, putting one arm around Xia Tian's shoulder.

Qin's mother looked at her son in shock. Her son was usually not talkative, so it seemed that he was really interested in going out to play this time.

"Yes, yes, we should all get together during the Chinese New Year. Didn't you say there was a nice resort? Let's go there together."

"Auntie, no need." Xia Tian declined their offer before her mother could speak. "My parents are going to my grandmother's for the New Year, so it's inconvenient for them. Thank you for your kindness."

"I see." Qin's mother was a little disappointed, but the New Year is a time for family reunion, and it was understandable that people wanted to go home.

"Yes, her grandmother is still in the countryside, and we're planning to go there in the next couple of days," Xia's mother replied with a smile, but her gaze towards her daughter held a more scrutinizing look.

"That's really unfortunate. Qin Wei, why don't you see them off?" Qin's mother gestured for her son to go and see them off.

"Auntie, no need, it's easy to get a taxi at the door." Xia Tian was the first to refuse, but she still maintained a smile.

After Xia Tian and his family left, Qin's mother gestured for Qin Wei to go out and see them off.

After Qin Wei left, Qin's mother looked at the old man and said, "Grandpa, isn't there a problem with this?"

"That kid thinks he can fool me by finding someone?" Grandpa Qin scoffed, his son helping him to his feet. He tapped his cane on the ground. "I think this girl can handle your son. Just you wait and see."

Qin Wei escorted her to the door and politely helped her into the car. Before Xia Tian got in, he reached out and grabbed her, whispering in her ear, "We're not in a hurry, we have plenty of time."

Xia Tian scoffed and bent down to get into the car.

Qin Wei watched the car leave, his eyes narrowing slightly. Xia Tian's past was simple. He worked as a freelance writer during college, and started learning editing skills three years ago. He was a very sociable person, but he didn't have many friends. His only friend in recent years was probably Shang Ning.

Aside from editing videos of him and Jin Yining, they had no interaction whatsoever.

So why does this woman hate him?

Playing hard to get?

Her acting skills are simply too good.

Shang Ning has been at home for three days, found a nanny, and it's about time for her to leave.

Before leaving, I went to look for Chen Dongyang, but still received no news.

But now that she's gone, it's probably really hard to say when she'll be back.

After agreeing on a time, Shang Ning quickly packed her things and headed to the airport, where Liu Cheng and the others had already arrived.

When Shang Ning arrived, it was already too late. Liu Cheng was waiting for her, while Jing Kun and Yan Yan had already gone inside.

Shang Ning brought very little stuff, so she could take it directly onto the plane, thus avoiding the time spent checking it in.

"Have you contacted the lab over there? And have the previous experimental data been exported and recalculated? This matter..."

They walked briskly, almost jogging, to the boarding gate.

A large crowd was approaching, and I brushed past them.

After walking a few steps, Shang Ning suddenly stopped.

Meanwhile, the crowd on the other side also stopped.

Shi Pinjing stopped and looked at the person who had suddenly stopped beside her. "Yi Ning, what's wrong?"

The person Jin Yining glanced at was Shang Ning.

Even though they were walking very fast, he could still tell that it was Shang Ning.

When Jin Yining turned around, Shang Ning also turned around, separated by layers of fans.
