Shang Ning: "..."
I'm so angry!
Didn't that just now almost make me explode with anger?
But if she really died, and the experiment was attributed to someone else, she would die with even more resentment. If she knew that He Zhiyan's words were attached to her, and that the experiment was indeed conducted by the two of them in its early stages, she would be a little more at ease.
“But I think it’s not worth it for you to quit for this. There’s darkness everywhere that we can’t see. Do you think there isn’t any in the school? We just haven’t seen it yet. He Zhiyan, let’s have a competition and see who can make a result first this time.”
He Zhiyan straightened up and looked at Shang Ning, who had issued the challenge to him.
"Actually, if you think about it carefully, the initial part of this experiment was done by the two of us. It wasn't entirely my idea. It's fine for you to restart it. So this time, let's have a competition to see who finds the optimal wavelength first."
He Zhiyan was still looking at her, seemingly trying to figure something out.
This is nothing like Shangning; the Shangning of the past was not like this.
"Give me a straight answer, whether it's going to work or not." Shang Ning tugged at He Zhiyan's clothes. "I've noticed you've become so indecisive lately."
He Zhiyan: "..."
"This isn't being fussy, this is a matter of principle," He Zhiyan roared.
Shang Ning gasped, suddenly realizing that her tooth hurt.
“I’ll make Chen Yiyang apologize to you, will you go back?” Shang Ning pursed her lips and looked at He Zhiyan. He Zhiyan didn’t say anything and turned around. Shang Ning moved in front of him. “Chen Yiyang is just a quick-tongued person. If you reason with her, she will listen.”
"Not necessarily." He Zhiyan thought of the woman's confident demeanor earlier and realized that he really didn't think she would realize she was wrong.
Shang Ning: "..."
How did they all become ancestors?
The experimental data wasn't finished running until after 4 a.m. Shang Ning and He Zhiyan went home to their family compound together. He Zhiyan didn't say a word until they reached the door. Shang Ning watched He Zhiyan push the door open and go home, raised her hand, but still didn't call him to stop.
Shang Ning sighed, turned around, and went back to his own home.
The room was still lit at four in the morning, and the living room was quiet. Shang Ning carefully entered the room and pushed open the bedroom door. Jin Yining was still resting.
Shang Ning raised his hand and patted his chest, relieved that he hadn't woken anyone up.
"You're back?"
Just as Shang Ning was about to turn and leave, Jin Yining suddenly spoke up. Although he knew that she and He Zhiyan were completely innocent and that the rumors about her fiancé were false, Jin Yining had to admit that he was jealous when he thought about how the two of them had spent several hours in the lab and had so much to talk about.
Shang Ning paused for a moment, looking at Jin Yining who had sat up, "Did I wake you up?" As she spoke, she raised her hand to touch the mole at the corner of her eye and slowly swayed inside, thinking about how to start the conversation.
Jin Yining looked at the person sitting by the bed who didn't dare to look at her. The indicator light on her wristband was green, proving that she was currently fine.
The laboratory was where she used to spend most of her time, and it was indeed the safest place.
"Is there something you want to say?" Jin Yining looked at the person who kept touching the mole at the corner of her eye and knew that she had come over to talk to him about something that he might not want to hear.
“Um…” Shang Ning put down her hand and looked up at Jin Yining, “Um…”
Jin Yining: "Which one?"
