No comparison, no comparison, it'll drive you crazy.
Jin Yining looked at the person in her arms with a wrinkled nose, thought about her words, and her first reaction was to say, "You don't look like someone else's girlfriend either."
But after he said that, he was probably not far from the sofa.
So Jin Yining simply bent down and picked the person up.
Shang Ning: "..."
Shang Ning exclaimed in surprise and reached out to hug Jin Yining's neck, "What are you doing?"
"Lift her up high." Jin Yining said seriously, turned around and carried her to the bed. After putting her down, she lay down next to her, pulled the blanket over her and hugged her. "You haven't slept all night, get some sleep. The sky isn't going to fall."
When Shang Ning touched the pillow, she realized that she was really sleepy, and extremely sleepy at that. So the first thing she did after touching the pillow was to close her eyes.
Jin Yining stayed with her lying down for a while before getting up to wash up. She then contacted Chen Dongyang and learned that Chen Dongyang had already spread the word. Now she was just waiting to see what the other party would do.
Looking at the time, it should be midnight on Chen Yiyang's end. Jin Yining raised an eyebrow slightly and dialed the number directly.
The phone rang for a long time before being answered, and the person on the other end was clearly impatient, saying, "I have something to say."
"Looks like you're not in a good mood." Jin Yining started preparing breakfast, her feigned ignorance only adding to the annoyance.
"Jin Yining, don't you know what time it is here?" Chen Yiyang was clearly displeased, even though the person on the other end of the phone was his own younger brother.
"I know, I just wanted you to experience what it's like to be unhappy." Jin Yining took out the eggs and continued her breakfast preparations methodically, only hesitating between egg drop soup and fried eggs.
The person on the other end seemed to have calmed down, clearly having sobered up, and asked, "What do you mean?"
"Having your experimental results stolen is like being woken up in the middle of the night, only to find that the person who woke you is someone you can't yell at. That's probably what they call swallowing a bitter pill."
Chen Yiyang must have known what had happened by now. She was quiet for a while, and Jin Yining didn't say anything either, continuing to prepare breakfast.
"That womanly man is quick to tattle," Chen Yiyang said after a long silence.
Jin Yining had no objection to that adjective; in fact, he thought his sister was right.
"Two choices: first, explain it to me in person; second, I'll have Mom talk to you."
Chen Yiyang didn't like either of these choices. Perhaps because their mother was a teacher, a large part of the reason why Jin Yining and Chen Yiyang were well-behaved when they were young was that they didn't want their mother to give them moral lessons, but rather to explain things to them personally.
What do you mean by "explain"?
"Jin Yining, if an experiment is beneficial, why not continue it?"
"Then why change your name? Chen Yiyang, that sounds like 'taking credit'." Jin Yining said calmly, "Don't tell me you don't know what they're thinking, that you just find it troublesome and don't want to get involved. But knowing that Shang Ning is still alive, do you really think there's nothing wrong with what you're doing?"
Chen Yiyang finally came to his senses. "You're saying this now because she's your wife."
“Of course,” Jin Yining did not deny it, “but at the same time, I do not approve of your approach. What you’re doing makes no difference to Uncle Chen.”
"Don't compare me to him." Chen Yiyang growled, clearly offended. "I don't know anything about this and I'm not involved. You can't control everything. Is your wife some precious crystal ball? Will she break if you touch her?"
