Gu Xiaoqi watched as Shang Ning took the chip. "There's something else Leng Yexi asked me to give you." As she spoke, Gu Xiaoqi handed her a black box that she had previously put in the bedside drawer. The box wasn't big; it could just be held in the palm of your hand.
"What is this?" Gu Xiaoqi looked at the child curiously. Hadn't Leng Yexi already given her the port he promised?
"I don't know what's inside, but he said you might need it now, but don't open it for the time being." Gu Xiaoqi was also curious, but Leng Yexi's words were mysterious, so she brought it over herself.
Shang Ning raised an eyebrow. Was there really such a thing as a buy-one-get-one-free deal?
A torrential rain has triggered floods in many countries, and even in China, many places have been affected, with at least many film crews having to suspend filming.
The Qing Dynasty drama starring Jin Yining has temporarily returned to the studio to film the indoor scenes after shooting several scenes in natural rain.
When Shang Ning arrived at the film set, the rain had stopped, but the weather was still bad.
She was in much better health than before, and when she arrived at the film set, she went directly to the hotel instead of going to the set.
The assistant led her back to her room and put her luggage aside. "Sister-in-law, Brother Ning will finish filming early today, around five o'clock. Why don't you wait a bit?"
"Okay, thank you." Shang Ning thanked the assistant and saw her off before lying down to sleep.
She hasn't been feeling well lately either.
Jin Yining returned before five o'clock. His assistant said that Shang Ning didn't seem to be feeling well, and he rushed back after his last scene.
Jin Yining hadn't even changed out of her clothes when she came in and sat down by the bed. She touched her forehead and was relieved to find her temperature was normal.
Shang Ning raised her eyelids slightly and took his hand. "You're back?"
Jin Yining helped her up. "Why do you look so pale? Have you been to the hospital for a checkup?"
Shang Ning leaned back against the pillows, looking at Jin Yining's furrowed brows. "I'm really fine. Even if something were wrong, President Leng wouldn't let me come back."
Jin Yining's expression was not good. "I shouldn't have let you go."
"Where is that scientist?"
"Dead."
Shang Ning: "..."
That's how fast the big shots get things done.
"Are you hungry? Should I have someone buy you some food, or should I cook something for you?"
Shang Ning shook her head, "I don't want to eat right now." She looked up at Jin Yining, "Go remove your makeup first. I just experienced a fantasy, and I don't want to watch any more time-travel stories."
Jin Yining kissed her forehead. "Wait a minute, I'm going to take a shower. I'll take you out to eat later."
Shang Ning nodded, watched Jin Yining go inside, took her phone and called Xia Tian.
"I thought you were planning to disappear for another year or six months."
"That's not quite right. Where are you now?" Shang Ning said, glancing at the time and then looking towards the bathroom.
"In City A, you've run off with the studio's affairs, so I have to keep an eye on things, right?"
Shang Ning felt a little guilty after hearing this, and she gave an awkward laugh. "I'll be going back in a few days. If work isn't urgent, you don't need to worry. Have you and Qin Wei been doing well lately?"
"Nothing, what could possibly happen?" Xia Tian sneered. "Didn't you go to find your teacher, Mr. Jin?"
"You know that?"
"Ning Kong is obsessed with Jin Yining, and he even chased her to the film set."
Shang Ning clicked her tongue upon hearing the headline. Why couldn't these people accept reality? It was clearly Jin Yining who called her eight times a day, insisting that she come over, okay?
