The weather isn't going to get better anytime soon, and her sister-in-law's mood probably won't be good anytime soon either.
In order not to disturb Jin Yining's meal, Shang Ning decided to hang up the phone and come back after buying lunch.
When Shang Ning returned, Chen Yiyang was vomiting in the bathroom. At that moment, Shang Ning really wanted to say that he deserved it.
After putting down her lunch, Shang Ning went to the bathroom door and knocked.
"roll."
The voice inside was filled with suppressed pain, likely caused by excessive drinking and a bad mood, resulting in a harsh tone.
Shang Ning went inside to get a water glass, filled it with water for her, and then squatted down next to her to hand her the water glass.
Chen Yiyang felt a little better after vomiting, but his gaze towards Shang Ning was still displeased. "Are you here to laugh at me?"
"What jokes do you have that I can't believe?" Shang Ning gestured for her to take the water glass to rinse her mouth, then stood up. "I bought some food, I'll come out after I throw up."
Shang Ningchu placed lunch on the table and had just finished tidying it up when she saw Chen Yiyang come out of the bathroom and lie down on the bed.
"Who hasn't been lectured by their parents at some point in their life? Is it really that serious?"
"I don't."
Shang Ning: "..."
Okay, you're such an outstanding student that you must have been someone else's child since you were little. No wonder Jin Yining likes to tattle. If she had a brother or sister like that, she would tattle to her mother seven, eight, or nine times a day.
"Even if you want to drink, you should eat something first. If you really end up in the hospital, you won't be able to drink even if you want to," Shang Ning said, gesturing for her to come and eat.
Chen Yiyang glanced at her and sneered, "You're laughing at me."
"Why should I want to see you make a fool of yourself? Aren't I making a fool of myself enough?" Shang Ning said, gesturing for Chen Yiyang to come and eat.
Chen Yiyang looked at her for a while before getting up from the bed and walking over. He reached for the chopsticks, pulled over a chair, sat down, and started eating.
Shang Ning held her chopsticks and looked at Chen Yiyang, who was eating with his head down. The fact that he could still eat proved that the problem wasn't serious.
"You're really annoying," Chen Yiyang said while eating. "I never expected you could even bribe my dad."
"Professor Chen is a very capable person." Shang Ning sincerely admired this.
“He almost killed you once,” Chen Yiyang reminded him, “so there’s no need to be so hypocritical.”
Shang Ning looked up at the woman who was eating her food while still criticizing her, and said, "You have to look forward."
Chen Yiyang sneered and continued eating with his head down.
Shang Ning took a few bites and then didn't want to eat anymore. She reached for the water, turned it on, and drank while looking at Chen Yiyang, saying, "I'll take you somewhere after we finish eating."
"You'll take me there?"
"What's wrong with me taking you there? This is the place I grew up in."
Chen Yiyang scoffed, realizing he wasn't entirely convinced.
And as it turns out, sometimes you still have to trust your own self-awareness.
Chen Yiyang stood under the bus stop sign, looking at the people looking at the sign. This was the third bus they had gotten off, and they still hadn't found their way.
Why would she believe the words of someone who has no sense of direction?
"Shang Ning, you did this on purpose, didn't you?"
"Don't rush, don't rush. I'm just checking the route." Shang Ning looked at the bus route on the bus stop sign and the route shown on her phone. "Life is always about having some different experiences. You're not in a hurry, and you have nothing to do right now."
