Chapter 561 A Scholar is Useless

Maodou chuckled softly, "Sister Ning, if you're feeling down, I can go for a walk with you. I've taken the last couple of days off."

"I'm not in a bad mood, your brother Ning is just making a mountain out of a molehill."

"Brother Ning is worried about you." Maodou took the cup and was actually envious of Shang Ning, after all, this was the person Jin Yining cherished.

Although he didn't know what had happened, Maodou could tell that Ning Ge was very anxious.

Shang Ning sat down at the table, reached for a small cake, and began to eat it. "I'm really fine. If you have something to do, go ahead and do it, so that Sister Yang won't have to come looking for me later."

Maodou held her cup and drank water, watching Shang Ning eat a small cake. However, her eyes were still a little red, clearly from crying. How could she be alright?

Maodou thought about Ning Ge's recent schedule, but felt that Ning Jie wasn't the type to cry over such a small thing. After all, the two of them hadn't spent much time together, always busy with this or that.

We managed to squeeze out a few days to get together, but we mostly only had time to meet and talk in the evenings, and that was when Ning Ge wasn't filming at night.

That's just how it is for people in the film and television industry; they're always rushing to meet appointments, especially someone like Jin Yining.

After all, they're open 365 days a year. Artists have to rush to their schedules according to their own, not the other way around. If you don't accept their gigs, someone else will.

Shang Ning felt a little better after eating the small cake. Anyway, she couldn't accept the title bestowed upon her after her death; she still had to find a way to have it taken back.

And we also need to investigate what the dean of that archaeology institute actually does.

"I'm really fine. If you're busy, go ahead and do your thing. You should still have time to go back now." Shang Ning checked the time. "I think I should still have time?"

"Sister Ning, Brother Ning told me to stay until he comes back tomorrow afternoon. If I leave now, I won't be able to explain it to him."

"He's coming back tomorrow afternoon? Isn't he going to the variety show place by himself?" Shang Ning thought he was joking, but now that she heard this, she knew he really was coming over here first.

"The variety show is being recorded the day after tomorrow. They said they'd go over the script tomorrow night. We can go over the script online, so it's not a big problem, as long as the people on the other end agree," Maodou explained.

Shang Ning nodded, having understood something else.

However, she didn't continue to chase Maodou away, otherwise she wouldn't know how to explain it to Jin Yining.

"Did you get on the plane without having lunch yet? I'll get you something to eat for breakfast, or I can go down and buy you some noodles. The noodles at our school—no, this school's noodles are pretty good." Shang Ning's words were on the tip of her tongue when she changed them, almost letting slip the secret.

"No need, I ate something on the plane," Maodou said hurriedly, then picked up his phone to reply to a message, "Sister Ning, is there anything you need me to do? I'll help you."

"Nothing much. It's a rare break. You can chat with your brother Yang for a while. I'll go back to my work now." Shang Ning chuckled, got up, tossed the cake box aside, and went back to her study to attend to her own business.

He sent a message to He Zhiyan, knowing that the publicity had been temporarily suppressed, and that it would probably have to wait until Jin Yining arrived to really resolve the issue.

So in the end, she still couldn't do it without Jin Yining.

"A scholar is useless in all aspects; our ancestors were wise enough to see this," Shang Ning sighed and opened his notebook.
