Chapter 616 The Significance of Fame

Shang Ning exited the airport under the escort of security guards, where Qin Wei's car was waiting for her.

Seeing her come out, he immediately opened the car door and said, "Get in."

Shang Ning glanced down, then bent down and got into the car while holding the fruit shells. "Teacher Qin isn't busy?"

"Take a few days off," Qin Wei said, glancing at the sleeping Xiao Guoke. "Are you two catching bombs? Is it okay to rush things like this?"

"It was just a coincidence. I didn't expect his magazine to be released so early." Shang Ning gently rocked her son. "Aren't your promotions still going strong? The movie's going to be released tomorrow."

Qin Wei nodded. "You're doing this for nothing, and there aren't many people who will truly be grateful."

Shang Ning chuckled softly, "People who truly know how to be grateful are busy figuring out how to survive; they won't shout it out for you to hear."

"Okay, Professor, you're really insightful." Hearing her say that, Qin Wei was no longer worried that the things online would hurt her.

Qin Wei escorted her downstairs. "You shouldn't look at your phone lately. There's really no need to listen to those things."

Shang Ning chuckled softly as she held her son. "Okay, thank you for your comforting words, Teacher Qin. By the way, Xia Tian's flight should be this afternoon."

Qin Wei nodded and left.

Shang Ning carried her son home, put him down, and found the house was very clean as it had been cleaned regularly.

Jin Yining wouldn't be able to get there anytime soon, so she wasn't in a hurry to contact him. She just told her mother-in-law that she was back with the child.

After talking to her family, Shang Ning lay on the bed looking at her sleeping son. It had been a while since she'd seen him, and she felt the little guy had grown a bit more, and his skin was even whiter and smoother. She couldn't help but kiss him.

When Sister Yang arrived, Xiao Guoke had just woken up. Seeing her mother at home, she didn't cry or fuss, but happily played with her.

Shang Ning opened the door and let Sister Yang come in by herself. She took the fruit peels to the kitchen to pour water.

Seeing her busy, Sister Yang said, "I just wanted to ask you today, are you really sure you want to go on like this?"

Yang Jie came all the way to my door to ask about something that could have been clarified with a single phone call, which shows how seriously she took the matter.

Shang Ning brought out a glass of water and placed it in front of Sister Yang before saying, "Sister Yang, I'll say it again: once I've started, I won't give up. I can't abandon those who need help just because of the people who criticize me."

Sister Yang nodded and took out a report. "This is the effect analysis of this event that I had someone compile. The number of tourists has increased, but not by much. It is at least less than one-tenth of what we estimated."

Shang Ning glanced down at the data but didn't open it to check it. Instead, she looked at Sister Yang and asked, "Sister Yang, does the company still have money to compensate me?"

Upon hearing this, Sister Yang suddenly laughed, "You won't go bankrupt. Even if you do go bankrupt, there's still your Teacher Jin's salary."

That's true.

"Sister Yang, thank you."

"No need to thank me, I should thank you for letting me be great for once too," Sister Yang said with a smile. "I've never met someone as upright and righteous as you, who became famous for the sake of others. Keep up the good work, time will not let down those who put their heart into it."

Shang Ning nodded; she believed that statement too.

"Then I'll be going. I'll have someone arrange the next place. Check the schedule and let me know when it's ready."

"Okay, thank you, Sister Yang." Shang Ning got up to see Sister Yang out, secretly relieved. This industry wasn't like she had imagined, was it?
