Shang Ning wanted to say that was not necessarily true, but then she felt that if she said that, she would be met with a barrage of criticism.
However, Shang Ning felt that the idea that these gang leaders treated Jin Yining like a treasure simply because he was good-looking was complete nonsense.
"So it's okay if I do this research?"
"I have no objection to you taking credit for nothing if you're willing to do it," Leng Yexi said, standing up abruptly. "I'll be leaving tomorrow afternoon, waiting for your answer."
As Shang Ning watched Leng Yexi leave, she bit her lip inwardly. If she were to disregard all shame and associate with these gentlemen, she would genuinely want to say that she was willing.
After Jin Yining arrived, he called to tell her that he had arrived and had just entered the hotel. He said he would video call her later, otherwise she would see him as a monk tomorrow.
"Tsk tsk tsk, my teacher Jin has finally become a monk." Shang Ning chuckled softly, took out some dumplings from the refrigerator. Jin Yining had left them for her, enough for two days, just in time for her departure.
"Stop talking nonsense. I've packed your luggage for the day after tomorrow. You don't need to touch the suitcase, just take it with you." Jin Yining went into the room, and her assistant went to get this week's schedule. Jin Yining nodded to him to leave, then hung up the phone and made a video call.
Shang Ning answered the call quickly, put the phone aside, and started cooking dumplings.
"Sure, since Teacher Jin is here, I don't have to worry about anything," Shang Ning said, adding water and turning on the stove.
Jin Yining looked around the hotel room and sat down on the edge of the bed. "Keep an eye on the pot."
"I know, I know," Shang Ning replied, not really paying attention. "Teacher Jin always stays in hotels that make you think, 'It's good to be rich.'"
"Come and stay for free."
"Forget it, I'm not going to be a monkey for people to watch." Shang Ning said, and put the dumplings in after the water boiled. "Teacher Jin, I have a question."
Jin Yining nodded and leaned against the headboard, gesturing for her to speak.
Why are your master and the others so protective of you?
As soon as Shang Ning finished speaking, Jin Yining's expression changed slightly, and she frowned as she asked, "They've already looked for you?"
Shang Ning didn't intend to hide it from Jin Yining, after all, this matter couldn't be kept secret, and the little princess had a bad temper. If it was really kept secret, there would be more arguments later.
"Hmm, if it weren't for your age, I'd suspect you're his illegitimate son," Shang Ning joked, since anyone would have that suspicion.
"You're overthinking it." Jin Yining chuckled. "It's not that strange, it's probably just that she's good-looking?"
Shang Ning: "..."
"Pot, pot, pot, add cold water!" Jin Yining wished she could run over and cook the dumplings for her herself. "Oh my god, are you sure you can do this?"
Shang Ning hurriedly added water.
"No, I'll have someone book a plane ticket for you. You can fly directly from here to Norway."
“I’m not stupid.” Shang Ning added water and couldn’t help but retort, “I just think that what your master said is something I can really consider.”
"What are you thinking about? It's only a matter of a few decades. Don't drag yourself into this." Jin Yining was genuinely worried this time, keeping a close eye on her. "Just listen to what he said and move on. Don't take it to heart. Okay, turn off the stove."
Shang Ning gave an "oh," turned off the stove, and then ladled out the dumplings. "But Jin Yining, this is good for you."
"Did you know you'd be on the assassination list too?"
Shang Ning's hand trembled slightly as she looked up at the person on her phone.
