In the darkness of night, amidst a thunderstorm, a large spaceship almost completely covered the sea area, spying on everything below.
Qin Wei leaned back on the sofa playing games, looking quite lazy.
Chen Dongyang watched the horrifying scene below from the command post.
“There’s a ship approaching from the south. Should we land?” Chen Dongyang turned to look at Qin Wei.
"No rush, let's wait for Lao Jin's news." Qin Wei said, glancing at the time. "The big fish hasn't come out yet."
Chen Dongyang nodded, then turned back to continue observing the ship, asking someone to zoom in for a closer look.
"It's a ghost ship. There doesn't look like anyone on board. The big fish should still be behind."
Qin Wei frowned as he played the game. When he saw the screen showing his team wiped out, he didn't hesitate to report it. What kind of game is this during the Chinese New Year?
After making the report, Qin Wei put down his phone and went to stand by the command center to look at the images displayed on the surveillance camera.
"A ghost ship?" Qin Wei scoffed. "Today, we'll turn it into a complete ghost ship."
"To be able to pull off such a massive operation right under our noses and keep it a secret for so many years, I'm curious to know who that person really is?" Chen Dongyang kept a close eye on the situation below.
The staff member responsible for monitoring the situation below, having overheard something, turned to Qin Wei and said, "Mr. Qin, it seems Professor Shang is in trouble."
Qin Wei instantly dropped his nonchalant demeanor, reached out and took the headset, putting it on. The first sound that came through was almost a hysterical scream from Shang Ning.
"Don't touch me," Shang Ning shouted hoarsely, shoving Bai Yi away as she tried to approach, and crashing into the door herself.
She wanted to breathe, but all she felt was suffocation.
No matter how much air I inhale, all I feel is suffocation.
"Shang Ning, Shang Ning." Jin Yining pounded on the door, trying to calm the person inside down. She couldn't get excited; her heart couldn't handle such stimulation.
Bai Yi was pushed down by Shang Ning, and the floor cut her palm, but she felt no pain.
"Ningning, let Mommy explain..."
"Don't come any closer, don't come any closer." Shang Ning slid down the door, hugged her knees tightly against the door, and desperately tried to absorb Jin Yining's voice and scent.
They simply refused to believe what they were seeing, and refused to believe what they were hearing.
Shang Congfeng helped his wife up and looked at Shang Ning, who was curled up and trembling. This seemingly spacious house was like a gladiatorial arena, barely confining their family inside.
"Ning Sang, this is what you wanted to see. Now that you've seen it, are you satisfied?" Shang Congfeng shouted loudly as he looked at the monitor.
"Little friend, didn't you have a lot of questions you wanted to ask? Why aren't you asking them now?" Ning Sang's voice came from above, with a hint of laughter in it.
"Ning Sang," Bai Yi suddenly called out, her voice filled with boundless hatred.
"Ningning." Jin Yining pressed his forehead against the door and called out softly. At this moment, he wanted to break down the door, but he couldn't.
This door holds the weight of Shang Ning's life.
Helplessness, despair, and powerlessness were like a net, tightly binding him within.
He couldn't find a way out.
Hearing Jin Yining's voice, Shang Ning wanted to follow him regardless of everything.
But she couldn't.
This door weighs down on Jin Yining's courage and the thousands of lives he has taken.
But how is she supposed to face all of this?
