Chapter 27: Birth Ghost
"My Lady! Push harder!"
"My queen, please don't sleep! You can't sleep right now!"
"ah--"
Waves of pain almost enveloped her entire body. The blood drained from the Crown Princess's face, and the midwives felt as if knives were hanging over their heads, ready to chop off their heads at any moment.
The maidservant carried out basins of blood, and a beautiful woman in a plum-green cloak approached the delivery room with a bowl of medicine.
Su Tan narrowed his eyes and fixed his gaze on the beautiful woman.
Two maids stopped her on the left and right, their scrutinizing eyes fixed on her, "Who is it?"
The beautiful woman bowed and said, "I have been ordered to bring a bowl of labor-inducing soup to the Crown Princess."
The maids used silver needles to test for poison, and the female doctor checked again and again before nodding slightly, indicating that there was nothing else in the labor-inducing soup and it could be given to the Crown Princess.
The maid was about to take the labor-inducing soup from the beautiful woman, but Su Tan and Cui Wan looked at each other, and the next moment, Cui Wan reached out and snatched the labor-inducing soup.
"I have been entrusted by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to protect the Crown Princess's safety. I must personally test whether this medicine is safe to drink."
Su Tan stared at the beautiful woman quietly.
"The delivery room is a restricted area, no outsiders are allowed to enter. Madam, please follow me out."
The beautiful woman's gaze fell on Cui Wan and Su Tan. She paused for a moment, then said in a good-tempered tone, "Okay."
She turned around and left the delivery room without hesitation. When she looked back, her gaze was deeply directed at the Crown Princess. A long red line, like a spirit snake, meandered towards the Crown Princess's belly.
However, the maids and nannies busy in the yard were unaware of it, as if the "red thread" had never existed.
Su Tan held it expressionlessly. With a snap, the 'red line' broke. The beautiful woman paused, turned around abruptly, and her eyes suddenly became vicious.
Cui Wan kicked her out and slammed the door of the delivery room.
Su Tan pasted a yellow talisman on the door. The burning red light on the talisman seemed to devour the beautiful woman.
The beautiful woman finally took off her gentle mask, her eyes were gloomy and cold, staring at Su Tan and Cui Wan.
Su Tan made a hand gesture and a golden light enveloped the delivery room.
The Crown Princess cannot be frightened when giving birth. Covered by this layer of golden light, no matter how loud the noise is outside, the people in the delivery room cannot hear a single sound.
"hateful!"
"How dare you ruin my good thing!"
The beautiful woman's long hair swept towards Su Tan.
Su Tan drew out his sword and injected spiritual power into it. A cold light flashed, and the black hair in front of him broke.
Cui Wan threw out a talisman to suppress ghosts and stared at the woman in front of her with a cold expression. No, it should be said that it was a female ghost.
"Ghost, why don't you surrender quickly?"
The birth ghost is transformed from a woman who died in childbirth. She likes to wear green clothes and yellow skirts and looks no different from an ordinary woman in the world. However, all birth ghosts in the world have a red line called blood bait on their necks.
Whenever a woman gives birth, the birth ghost will wait for an opportunity to strike, connecting the blood bait to the fetus. When she pulls the blood bait hard, both the mother and the child will be harmed.
The ghost swept a gloomy look over Cui Wan and Su Tan, and the blood bait suddenly turned into a sharp blade, crushing the ghost-suppressing talisman that was pushed into his hand.
Cui Wan's expression changed.
This ghost-suppressing talisman can easily deal with evil spirits.
The fact that it was being crushed effortlessly showed that the ghost in front of him was extremely resentful and could not be defeated by any ordinary ghost.
Well, the East Palace is a place where ordinary ghosts would avoid it.
"You two better mind your own business."
The ghost twisted her neck with a crackling sound, and her voice was chilling enough to penetrate the bone marrow. She licked her sharp white teeth with her cruel tongue, and the thin red mark on her neck flashed a strange light in the ice and snow.
Infinite hatred burst out of her eyes.
She had waited for a long time, and finally today the Crown Princess was due to give birth. She was determined to kill this vicious woman no matter what!
No one can stop her!
The red mark on her neck turned into a thin long line and ran straight towards the delivery room, but was easily bounced back by the golden light above.
Su Tan held the sword in his hand, bit his fingertips to draw blood, and injected spiritual power into it, "Break!"
The blood bait that gave birth to the ghost was instantly chopped into pieces by Su Tan's sword and scattered in the snow.
“Damn it!”
"I'm going to kill you!"
The ghost was filled with resentment, its shrill curses seemed to echo through the sky, and black energy continued to surge around its body.
Cui Wan's expression changed, and her fingers danced rapidly, as fast as the wind. "Five stars suppress the colors, illuminate the dark world, thousands of gods and saints, protect my true spirit. The giant beasts of the sky, subdue the five weapons. The five demons of the sky, destroy their bodies and forms. Wherever you are, all gods will welcome you. Hurry and obey the command!"
A strong light rushed straight towards the ghost. The ghost's dark pupils suddenly contracted and it dodged quickly.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Su Tan attached a talisman to the ghost in labor, pulled out the soul-binding rope, and tied the ghost up tightly.
Unable to break free, the ghost stared at Su Tan with resentment, "Let me go!"
"I just wanted to find a replacement to reincarnate into. What's wrong with me?"
“Damn it!”
"You all deserve to die, all of you!"
Su Tan had a blank expression on his face, the tip of his sword pointed directly at her throat, "If you don't want to be reduced to ashes, shut up."
The ghost shuddered and stared at Su Tan with resentment.
"Sister Su Tan, what are you doing!"
Liu Qingyin was panting and looked at Su Tan in astonishment. Beside her were Song Tingchen and twenty or so Song family soldiers who had rushed over after hearing the fighting.
Song Tingchen's brows furrowed instantly.
The ghost immediately put on a pitiful expression and looked at Song Tingchen and Liu Qingyin timidly, "Help me..."
"I don't know how I offended this girl..."
"I... I'm pregnant. Ah! My stomach hurts so much!"
"Help...help me untie the rope..."
There was a hint of bewitching in the ghost's voice, but his expression was extremely pitiful and sad, which only caused some of the Song family soldiers to draw their swords and stare at Su Tan with a fierce look.
"Let her go!"
"As a woman, how can you be so cruel? This lady is pregnant. Are you trying to kill her?"
The voices of accusation suddenly came like a tide.
Liu Qingyin wiped away her tears, shrank back, and looked at Su Tan with disapproval in her eyes.
"Sister Su Tan, is there anything you can't say nicely? Why are you making things so difficult for a mother? You're obviously a mother too!"
A soldier glanced at Su Tan with disgust. "Hmph, a vicious woman who abandoned her husband and children, what kind of mother is she! I think she's as vicious as a snake!"
"Fortunately, the general divorced her. Otherwise, how could such a vicious woman not die out there?"
Liu Qingyin showed reluctance, "Don't say that about Sister Su Tan..."
"There may be some misunderstanding here, but this lady looks so pitiful."
As she spoke, she was actually about to step forward and untie the soul-binding rope for the birth ghost.
Whoosh—the long sword in Su Tan's hand flew out with a gust of wind, brushed past Liu Qingyin's cheek, lifted a strand of hair, and plunged into the snow.
The blood drained from Liu Qingyin's face, her legs softened, and her thin body instantly fell into the snow, her whole body enveloped by the biting cold.
Su Tan said one word expressionlessly, "Get lost."
"Su Tan!" Song Tingchen's face was as gloomy as water. He reached out and helped Liu Qingyin up, his eyes dark. "The East Palace is not a place for you to vent your personal grudges!"
His gaze fell on the beautiful woman with a bulging belly and a painful expression, and his eyes became even gloomier.
Su Tansu raised her hand and pulled out a short knife from her sleeve. It brushed past Song Tingchen's cheek and quickly sank into the snow.
A row of blood beads oozed out of Song Tingchen's face, which was particularly conspicuous in the snow.
Su Tan looked indifferent, "You get out too."
Liu Qingyin shuddered.
Fortunately, the dagger did not cut his face.
madman!
Su Tan, the abandoned woman, is a lunatic!
Cui Wan rolled her eyes and made a hand gesture to recall Su Tan's longsword and dagger. "If a person spews feces every time he opens his mouth, what's the difference between him and a stray dog? If I were as blind as General Song, I would have already made up my mind and hit my neck to heaven!"
After saying that, Cui Wan pulled out a yellow talisman from her sleeve and, with a snap, stuck it on the pitiful ghost.
