Chapter 21 Entering the Palace to Accompany the Birth

The emperor and his entourage left the palace on the first day of June, so Ning Yuxi didn't have to get up early every day to pay her respects to the queen.

She was still a little nervous about meeting her mother in this life. Although they kept in touch frequently during the time she was here, Ning Chen was the one who carried messages or delivered them in between.

On the third day of the Lunar New Year, Ning Yuxi got up early in the morning. Not long after Ruyi and Luoying served her breakfast, a eunuch came to report that Madam Ning had entered the palace and was heading towards her Shuqing Palace.

Ning Yuxi stood up nervously. As soon as she walked into the yard, she saw a slightly wealthy woman walking towards her.

The woman looked no more than thirty years old, but she knew that her mother had them three years after she got married, so she was 38 now.

She was wearing a dark green palace dress, had fair skin, beautiful features, and a faint smile always on her face.

When the two looked at each other, Ning Yuxi's uneasiness disappeared. Ning's mother, Shen, looked very similar to her mother in her previous life. Seeing her was as if she saw her mother in her previous life.

When Ning Yuxi saw the tears flowing from Shen's eyes, her eyes also turned red unconsciously.

Shen knelt and saluted: "Your humble servant Shen pays respects to Lady Ning."

Tears welled up in Ning Yuxi's eyes. She hurried forward to help her mother up, sobbing, "Mom, what are you doing? Get up quickly."

After Shen finished her formalities, she raised her head and said, "My lady, etiquette cannot be abolished."

Ning Yuxi also knew this truth, but she couldn't help feeling sad when she saw her mother kneeling down to her.

The mother and daughter stood up together and went into the palace to cry again.

"My dear, please stop crying. You are still pregnant. Everything is fine with your father and I at home. We are just looking forward to your safe delivery." Shen wiped her tears and comforted her.

Ning Yuxi also stopped crying and took Shen's arm: "The Queen Mother in the palace has already arranged for a midwife to wait, and a wet nurse has also been arranged. Now that my mother is with me, I feel more at ease."

"You are still the same as when you were a child." Shen suddenly looked at her and gestured to the little palace maids and others waiting at the door.

Ning Yuxi received the signal and knew that her mother had something important to say to her, so she asked the second-class palace maid and the young palace maid to leave. Only Ruyi, Luoying, and the two maids brought by Shen were left in the room.

Ning Yuxi: "Ruyi and Luoying are both trustworthy. What do you want to say, mother?"

Shen then spoke, "I know things are not peaceful in the palace. The people the Empress has arranged are naturally good, but we must be on guard against them."

As she spoke, Shen looked at the two maids who came with her: "This is Madam Qian and Madam Zhang,

Madam Qian is an expert in childbirth and a renowned midwife. Madam Zhang is the wet nurse that your mother has prepared for you. Both are extremely trustworthy."

The two hurried forward and saluted Ning Yuxi: "This servant pays respects to Lady Ning."

Ning Yuxi looked at the two men, who were only in their thirties, with a handsome appearance and seemed to be honest and decent.

He hurriedly asked Ruyi to help the two of them up: "These two maids were invited by my mother, so they are naturally trustworthy. I entrust the delivery and subsequent feeding of the child to the two maids."

The two of them hurriedly said they dared not say that.

Ning Yuxi asked Ruyi to take the two maids down to settle them down. There was still more than a month before she gave birth, so naturally they had to be properly settled.

Shen: "Don't worry, these two have signed a death contract with us. Their whole family is living in our house, so they are absolutely trustworthy."

Ning Yuxi smiled and said, "Mother's arrangements are naturally all good. Thank you for taking the trouble for your daughter."

Upon hearing this, Shen scolded, "Why bother thanking me? I just hope you're safe."

After chatting for a while, it was lunch time. Ning Yuxi asked the imperial kitchen to prepare a sumptuous meal to entertain Shen.

After dinner, Ruyi took Shen to rest. She was naturally tired after the long journey to the palace. There would be more than two months before she gave birth and she would have to accompany her during the confinement period, so there was no need to worry about not having time to spend together.

On the fifth day of June, Ning Yuxi was having lunch with Shen when a young palace maid came in to report that Feng Da Ying in Concubine Qin's palace had started a rebellion.

The date had come, and Ning Yuxi didn't need to go. Not to mention that she was eight months pregnant, but there was also Concubine Qin in charge, so how could it be her turn as a noble lady?

If something happens, it would be so unfair to blame her. Everyone can see how much Concubine Qin cares about Feng agreeing to have this baby.

Ning Yuxi comforted Shen and continued eating, only asking Luoying to pay attention and report back after the baby was born.

At the end of the afternoon, Luoying came in to report: "Master, Madam, Feng promised that she has given birth, and it's a princess."

"Princess?"

Ning Yuxi didn’t care whether it was a princess or a prince, but Qinpin must be so angry that she must be dying right now, right?

She was really looking forward to Feng agreeing that this baby would be a prince, so that she would not have to be suppressed by Concubine Xin all the time after she adopted him.

Concubine Qin was really going to be mad!

Chunhua Palace.

Outside the delivery room, Concubine Qin was filled with indignation: "Princess? How could she be a princess? I've put so much effort into her pregnancy, yet she's just a princess!"

The midwife who brought the news shrank into silence and spoke weakly, "Mother, mother, Feng Dacheng is exhausted now. The imperial physician said he needs to be well nourished..."

Qinpin interrupted impatiently: "Why bother with supplements? If you can't even give birth to a prince, it's a waste to supplement them!"

After saying that, Concubine Qin angrily turned her sleeves and left!

The next day, Ning Yuxi brought some gifts to visit Feng Da Ying. She was pale and huddled timidly in the quilt, as if all the energy and blood had been sucked out of her.

She looked at the third princess again. She was rosy and plump, and looked very strong.

The things Ning Yuxi sent were all things that helped replenish qi and blood, as well as some small clothes made by the palace maids in her palace.

Feng Da Ying felt sad when he looked at Ning Yuxi's back. After she gave birth to the baby with great difficulty, only such a stranger came to see her.

She did not regret not giving birth to a son. She knew that even if she gave birth to a son, he would be Qinpin's, not hers. Which mother would be willing to be separated from her own flesh and blood?

Ning Yuxi naturally went to pay her respects to Concubine Qin first before visiting Feng Da Ying. However, when she visited Concubine Qin, she always felt that the way Concubine Qin looked at her was unusual.

Could it be that Qinpin saw that Feng agreed to her here and her hope was gone, so she thought about the child in her belly? She didn't think about the fact that she had saved the princess after all.

His brother also saved the princess twice, so there was some affection between them. She would have to think twice before asking for her child.

She was afraid that Concubine Liu or Concubine Jing would ask to adopt her child. After all, her mother's family was powerful and the person was the apple of the emperor's eye, so it was inevitable that the emperor would not agree.

I just hope that after she gives birth to a child, the emperor will promote her because of her hard work. Then she will be a concubine and can raise the child by herself.
