They lined up and waited for the Sorting Hat to sort them into houses.
Peacock and Snape heard several slightly frustrated voices: "Isn't the method of sorting to defeat the dragon? Then what's the point of my fear?"
Snape: You're a fool to believe such a rumor.
In fact, he thought that the house sorting was an exam, so before school started, he reviewed all the content of the first grade and prepared to get good grades, but he would not tell anyone.
Sirius Black had indeed defected to Gryffindor, just as he had said on the train.
Snape noticed that the light-skinned blonde woman at the Slytherin table on the other side had a very fluctuating expression. She was originally looking at others with disgust, but now she looked like she was about to faint.
Sirius also noticed the movement in Slytherin and waved over there with a provocative smile.
Peacock went to listen to some gossip. It turned out that they were cousins. The Black family had been pure-bloods who graduated from Slytherin for generations. Even if they didn't go to Slytherin, as long as they weren't Gryffindor, they could still go to Hufflepuff...
Okay, I can't accept it.
Ravenclaw would have been fine too! But Sirius chose Gryffindor.
He also heard a few words about adults, but she didn't quite understand them, so she returned to Snape's side: "They say pure-bloods, don't you humans tend to produce fools when close relatives marry?"
Peacock had read the book and knew how the so-called pure blood was maintained.
"That wouldn't happen to wizards," said Snape.
Peacock wasn't interested in human genes, but just thought of it and said, "This word is quite niche."
Snape: "What niche?"
"The last time I heard this word was in a pet shop. What purebred show dog? Isn't that a niche?" Peacock had only heard this word in pet shops since he came to the human world.
Snape: "...it's an honor for most people."
"So it's just something hyped up by you humans, like the so-called fashion or new trends." Peacock nodded in understanding.
Snape: "...If you say this, there will be no problem."
How many so-called pure bloods can trace back thousands of years? Most fairies themselves have only lived for thousands of years, and how many humans can know what their ancestors were thousands of years ago?
This is indeed something that humans have hyped up.
While the two were talking, it was Lily's turn.
Lily glanced at Snape anxiously and sat on the bench waiting for the Sorting Hat to sort the girls.
"GRYFFINDOR!" yelled the Sorting Hat.
Lily knew that Snape wanted to go to Slytherin, so she gave Snape a lost smile. When he put on the Sorting Hat, Lily secretly shouted in her heart: Gryffindor, Gryffindor, Gryffindor!
Of course, she was not the only one who did this. Peacock did the same. Peacock clenched his fist: Ravenclaw, Ravenclaw, Ravenclaw!
Peacock heard that Ravenclaw's dormitory was the highest dormitory in Hogwarts, and she liked to stay in high places, so she wanted to go to Ravenclaw. However, this was just her idea, and she would not force Snape. But if Snape was sorted into Ravenclaw, then she could get what she wanted without making Snape embarrassed because of her idea.
"Slytherin!" Snape calmly took off his hat and walked to the end of the Slytherin table and sat down.
"Tskâugly hat!" Peacock said with disgust.
The matter was already settled, and there was no point for Peacock to complain. However, what made Peacock a little happy was that a person with platinum blonde hair praised the clothes she made.
Lucius Malfoy had spotted Snape at the train station. His well-fitting, fashionable clothes, which perfectly concealed his flaws and highlighted his strengths, suggested he came from a wealthy family. However, he had never heard of the last name Snape, and it wasn't well-known among wizards. Was he half-blood? Was his father a Muggle?
Snape:? You can tell so much from just one piece of clothing?
Lucius took the initiative to come over: "I am Lucius Malfoy, the prefect of Slytherin. If you have any questions, you can come to me. Can I ask about your bloodline?"
"Severus Snape, half-blood." Thinking of what the Peacock Pet Shop said, Snape's tone was strange when he said he was a half-blood.
"The clothes you wore before were very beautiful and suited you very well. Can you tell me where they were made? I will definitely become his loyal customer." Lucius thought that Snape minded his ancestry, so he skipped the topic of mixed-blood and continued to talk to Snape with his friendly attitude.
"Severus Snape, I'm sorry I can't help you. I don't have a shop, so a friend did it for me."
"Oh, so that's how it is. Isn't he planning to open a store?" Lucius felt a little regretful. He quite liked the design of the clothes.
"No, it's just her hobby."
"So you are a lady with high aesthetic taste. I thought I could buy a beautiful women's dress for Cissy, but it seems we don't have that honor." Lucius looked at Narcissa who was heartbroken by Sirius's rebellion. He thought he could find some novel, beautiful and unique clothes to make her happy, but it seems that he can't do it.
Peacock looked over and saw that his already pale face looked even paler. She sat at the long table and stared at Sirius who was already playing with James Potter.
Peacock didn't understand why they were so nosy. Fairies would never do that. As long as you made up your mind and didn't harm others or the fairyland, even if you died, the fairies would only wish you a painless death.
I can't empathize with them.
After the sorting, Headmaster Dumbledore led everyone to sing the school song together. Snape used magic to block his ears to block out the strange sound of the school song outside.
