Chapter 19 The journey ends

For dinner on Monday, Natori also added a serving of sashimi to Ban's meal. Ban's eyes lit up when he heard about the extra meal.

Natsume could sense that Natori Monday was a little anxious and hesitated whether to say it out loud, but when it was time to go to bed, Natori Monday took the initiative to say:

"Natsume, I need your help."

"Hmm?" Natsume pretended to be confused.

“I’m sorry for lying to you.

There is a monster that hurts people in the back mountain of this hot spring. I heard that other monster hunters have sealed it, but before it was completely sealed, the monster escaped to this hotel. I originally wanted to take you out to play and visit this hotel, but I searched everywhere here and sensed the monster's breath, but found no trace of the monster.

I suspect the monster has already escaped. If that kind of evil monster is allowed to escape, it will definitely continue to hurt people." When Natori Zhou found that he could not find any trace of the monster, he would not be nervous if he found any trace of the monster in the inn. That would at least mean that the monster had not escaped. But now he began to think the worst.

He could have continued to hide it and left with Natsume. After all, what happened here had nothing to do with him and he was just a tourist.

But he didn't, because he was afraid that the monster would break the seal and hurt people wantonly out of hatred. Even if the demon hunter continued to seal him, the injuries or even deaths would be irreversible.

Natori apologized again on Monday: "I'm sorry, you were so happy."

He was used to lying, as it was a profession of his, whether as a demon hunter or an actor, where lies were commonplace, but when he saw Natsume's bright golden brown eyes, he felt embarrassed.

"I forgive you. Anyway, I didn't tell the truth to Mr. Natori." Natsume didn't expect Natori to be honest, which made him feel a little guilty about all the thoughts he had done before.

"If the monster you're talking about is the one with its head and body separated and its head sealed, I've already sealed it and buried it. Do you want to take a look and confirm it?"

Natori was stunned for a moment: "No need to confirm, I believe Natsume, but... when was it sealed?"

He would think that, apart from the time he took a hot spring bath, he had only been separated from Natsume when he called to confirm the information about the monsters here, so...

But that was less than five minutes!

"When Mr. Natori went to make a phone call." Natsume confirmed Natori's guess.

Natori Monday: ...

He was once again shocked by Natsume's talent.

Natori sat on his quilt for a while and looked at Natsume writing and drawing in a notebook. He looked like he was living a peaceful life. It was hard to tell that he had just spent less than five minutes sealing a vicious monster.

"I thought you didn't want to hurt them." He knew Natsume's attitude towards monsters, which was gentle, but he didn't expect that he would directly seal a monster that was not completely sealed.

Natsume looked at Natori Shuichi in confusion: "I just don't want to hurt those kind monsters, or monsters that are vicious but don't hurt others.

Hiiragi is a kind monster, so I don’t want to hurt her. The monster I met before wanted to steal my things, but failed, so teaching him a lesson is enough.

That monster had a fishy smell, indicating she had done many bad things, so I sealed her and buried her.

"Fishy?"

"Well, it's the smell of a human or a monster. It's basically quite accurate to use this to judge whether it's good or bad." Natsume's magic basically focuses on purification and perception. He can easily delve into other people's memories, emotions, or perceive their souls.

It smells fishy and is basically something only evil people have.

Natori raised his arm and smelled himself. He looked at Natsume but didn't dare ask what he smelled like.

"What what? What do I smell like?" Madara raised his paw to smell himself, but he only smelled the scent of hot spring eggs.

Natori Shuichi also looked at Natsume curiously, feeling nervous but unable to suppress his curiosity.

Natsume looked at Madara and Natori on Monday, lying on the bedclothes and laughed: "I can only smell no strange smells, such as the rotten smell of impending death or the stench of evil. It's not like I can distinguish a different smell for each of you.

And if there is a flavor, it must be fermented pork belly, teacher."

"What?! I'm very refreshing, okay? What is fermented rice wine pork belly?" Ban would never admit that he would taste like that.

Natori Monday laughed as he watched Natsume playing with Madara.

Natsume put the material book and the Book of Friends into his bag, then lay down in bed. He was quite tired after taking two buses and walking a long way to get here.

Natori turned off the lights on Monday and lay down in bed. Listening to Natsume's breathing on the other side, he asked with concern: "Are you getting along well with your current guardian?"

"Very good, they are very nice to me and we get along very well." Thinking of Hei Xiangling's departure after Tazi and Zi arrived, fairies bring happiness to the contractors.

So they must be gentle and good people recognized by fate, which is why they let Hei Xiangling leave.

"Is that so? That's good, but if, if one day you don't want to hide your uniqueness anymore and you're tired of hiding it, then come to me." Natori said softly.

Natsume is an outlier to ordinary people. Living in an ordinary environment, trying hard to hide his differences must be tiring.

He had been through the same thing before.

Natsume didn't say anything, closed his eyes and fell asleep, speaking as if he would not hide anything from Natori.

Fairies, Book of Friends...

These are things that cannot be told to Natori Shuichi.
