Chapter 6 Tickets

At the corner of this staircase, Tanuma asked, "Do you know my father?"

Natsume nodded subconsciously: "He mentioned you before. You are a child with a sensitive constitution."

Tanuma's face turned red. It was too easy for this guy to call a male of the same age "kid".

He observed Natsume's expression, because he was not sure whether Natsume could see monsters. At first, he was just attracted by Natsume's temperament, that mysterious, cold, and far-away temperament, and those slightly inhuman vertical pupils. He was wondering if it was because Natsume could see monsters that he had this temperament that was incompatible with humans?

But Natsume is too normal in his daily life. He would occasionally lower his head in fear when he felt the breath of a monster, but Natsume did not show any attitude of avoiding the monster. Everything was normal.

So he was secretly observing Natsume, but was caught red-handed.

"Can you see them too?" Natsume asked, looking at Tanuma in a daze.

"No, I can only see strange shadows occasionally, or feel their breath." Tanuma was sure that Natsume could really see it.

Natsume nodded: "I see."

Tanuma looked at Natsume: "I always thought I was overthinking it."

Natsume took Tanuma's hand and returned to the bedside, looking at the intermediate monsters playing in the playground below: "I can see it, but please keep it a secret, because most people can't understand the world we see."

He has been able to see monsters since he was a child. In his eyes, humans and monsters live together in the world, but for humans, monsters with strange shapes, naughty personalities or malicious intentions towards humans bring him a lot of trouble.

But he was lucky. Before he was hurt by the differences between the two worlds, he met Hei Xiangling, his patron goddess.

Later, under her protection, he was able to calmly look at the two worlds that blended together in his eyes.

Tanuma chuckled softly. He thought Natsume would say that there might be something wrong between the two of them, but what Natsume said was indeed: "They can't understand."

It was because of this confident and calm attitude that he was always unsure whether Natsume could see it.

"Is this the secret of the visible man?" asked Tanuma.

"Yeah." Natsume nodded.

After having this secret, Natsume and Tanuma became friends. Tanuma was always curious about the world in Natsume's eyes. Natsume did not avoid it and would occasionally talk about the monsters he encountered in a relaxed tone.

At that time, Tanuma would laugh and think sincerely: Ah, it’s really good that Natsume was not hurt by that world.

Soon after, the expedition to the old school building that the class monitor had been planning began. In it, Natsume met a god contaminated by resentment. Unexpectedly, he had a connection with both the class monitor and his grandmother.

However, at the beginning, Lord Shigure seemed to be irritated by the intrusion of humans and the demolition of his shelter, which was about to be demolished, and wanted to take the lives of the students who came to explore.

Natsume can purify the filth in him now, but he cannot purify his heart that constantly produces resentment.

After the god said that there was no need to return the name and that Natsume could do whatever he wanted with the name that was obtained as a joke, Natsume still returned the name and passed on his own power and emotions to Shigure.

After expressing that as long as he gave up his resentment, he would be able to purify the power in him, the god still chose to return to the other side.

The courage test ended in a whimper, and the old school building was demolished soon after.

After school, Natsume stayed at home to relax. This time, he finished writing the words for this week very smoothly. Looking at the scenery outside the window, he suddenly wanted to plant some flowers.

The flower seeds were left to him by Xiangling. He had been hesitant about whether to plant them. At first, he was afraid that he would have to move away soon. This was the last thing Xiangling gave him, and the flowers were not easy to take away. He did not plant them because he was afraid that the things left by his sister would be left at relatives' homes. Later, he was delayed because of some monster incidents.

Now looking at the clothes drying tower outside, he suddenly wanted to plant some.

The seeds were placed together with grandma's belongings. When Natsume was looking for the seeds, he looked through grandma's belongings. Every time he returned the names of the monsters, their memories of Grandma Reiko would turn into longing and be passed to him, causing him to become a little curious about Grandma Reiko.

Natsume happened to see the book and opened it to take a look. It turned out to be a book that he had borrowed from the library and had not returned.

"Reiko, you are always so careless." Ban was lying next to the cardboard box with watermelon seeds from his recent meal stuck on his face.

Natsume looked at the time the book was borrowed. He didn't want to think that his grandmother was a dishonest person: "Maybe it was because of an accident that grandma couldn't return it."

He had also experienced this kind of thing. He borrowed a book from school, but before he finished reading it, the relative he was staying with at night suddenly said that someone would pick him up the next morning to stay at another relative's house.

Fortunately, there was a child at home who went to the same school as him. He gave the book to the child and asked him to return it.

When he closed the book, a train ticket fell out. Natsume was curious and decided to go to the station after school tomorrow to take a look.

To explore grandma's past——

"If Xiangling were here, she would definitely be interested." Natsume murmured to himself.

Ban moved his ears, but still didn't ask anything.

Natsume put down the ticket, picked up the seeds and went down to ask Tazi: "Auntie Tazi, can I plant some flowers?"

"Flowers? Of course, but the flower bed at home is already full, so I really need to build a new one." Tazi looked at the flower bed that she had planted, and she was reluctant to move out any of the plants.

"Actually, you can just plant it next to the wall." Natsume didn't want to do something so troublesome.
