Chapter 61 Little Barty

Peacock didn't know little Barty very well. Snape was a grade older than him and they weren't in the same dormitory, so they didn't have many opportunities to meet. They only had brunch together occasionally.

But she understood Regulus. Looking at the two children, Peacock sighed deeply, "It's really not easy for humans to want a better life."

After examination by Madam Pomfrey, little Barty has almost recovered thanks to Snape's potion and Peacock's treatment. He is still sleeping now only because he is too tired.

She asked little Barty to stay and rest, and asked Snape and Regulus to leave. There were nurses here to take care of them. She was very busy with exams recently and could no longer accommodate so many people.

"Siver, can we stay? It would be too pitiful if we woke up after being near death and could only see white walls." Peacock looked at little Batty worriedly.

Snape naturally wouldn't refute Peacock. He looked at Madam Pomfrey seriously and said, "He almost died. I want to see the effect of my potion."

Madam Pomfrey rubbed Snape's head fiercely and said, "If you want to stay, then stay. Don't talk, or you will disturb the other patients."

This was her third time meeting Snape, but she had already left a very deep impression on him. The first time was when Snape caused an incurable wound to Lupin. She thought that Lupin was going to die.

The second time was when Snape brought a small stack of potion recipes, saying they were for house-elves to research, and asked her if he could make medicine for sick house-elves in the future. She took a look and found that it included treatments for colds, lack of energy, trauma, broken bones and other conditions.

This is the third time.

Snape managed to stay, but Regulus was unceremoniously sent away.

Snape sat on the chair next to him waiting for little Barty to wake up, but found that little Barty was not sleeping very soundly. He frowned and twitched, as if he was in a nightmare.

"Will a warrior who has signed up for 12 courses still be afraid of a little nightmare?" Although Snape said this, he put his hand on little Barty's eyes and gently stroked his forehead down.

This is the method Snape saw some mothers use to coax their babies, but it seems that it is not only effective for babies, but also for children over 180 months old.

Peacock also followed suit and used purification magic, which could soothe the mind and help people sleep better.

When little Barty woke up, he saw Snape sitting in a chair beside his bed reading a book.

"Awake? How do you feel?" Snape asked.

"Very good, thank you." Little Barty's smart brain made him quickly realize what was happening.

Snape used magic to check Barty's body and found that he was fine. He handed him a glass of sugar water and said, "Recover. If you have any questions, you can ask me. Regulus said he doesn't mind adding a bed next to him until the exam is over."

Little Barty understood that this meant that Snape allowed him to enter their dormitory to rest. After all, there was no place in the entire Hogwarts more suitable for resting than Snape's dormitory.

Little Barty leaned on the pillow and drank some sweet syrup: "Thank you, this is really the help I need most right now."

After being examined by Madam Pomfrey, little Barty was discharged from the hospital and immediately packed up his things and moved into Snape's dormitory, of course only before the OWL exam.

He had added a bed to his own in the space on Regulus's side, and he sat on the edge of it, looking at Snape's empty bed in thought.

Although he was dying and unconscious at the time, he was actually still sensitive to the outside world. He could feel Snape rushing in to give him the potion or the slightly cool hand placed on his forehead in the hospital wing later.

He suddenly remembered what Regulus said, "Sev is actually a very gentle person, but not everyone can appreciate his gentleness, and not everyone can see his gentleness under his cold and arrogant attitude."

But today he suddenly realized Snape's gentleness, the gentleness like a pearl peeked under a clam shell.

Little Barty could discover Regulus's hidden thoughts from his daily behavior, but recently Regulus seemed to have been heartbroken, and even the "Sev" he secretly called behind his back became the well-behaved "Senior Snape".

Why?

Little Barty was a little curious that Regulus would give up.

Snape came in from outside and saw little Barty in a daze. He reached out and gave him the exam notes he had compiled at the time: "You and Leir make a copy, it may be helpful for your exams."

I'm being modest, it's been extremely helpful!

This note was the exam notes compiled by Snape and Riddle at that time!

"Thank you, senior." Little Barty stood up and took it with both hands.

Snape took out a crystal with runes engraved on it, strung together with a rope made of unicorn hair, from his pocket and gave it to little Barty: "It's a gift."

Little Barty recognized this word, which meant academic success. He paused for a moment before continuing, "...Thank you for your blessing, senior. I'll keep it."

Snape also placed one on Regulus's bedside table, right next to him.

Barty Jr.: ...

It turns out it’s not the only one.
