Chapter 68

Chapter 68

Save them! We absolutely must save them!

If all these people die, will the dog emperor still send people to plant trees?

Seemingly having finally made up her mind, she suddenly slammed her hand on the table, looked at the group with a do-or-die look, and then slowly said, "I have something to teach you."

Teaching others how to give injections is no easy task. The main concern is that they might find it too novel or wonder where all this equipment comes from. So, it's important to lay the groundwork beforehand. After saying this, Qingyun pointed to the sky with a pained expression, "I'm going to make a decision that goes against our ancestors!"

She gestured to Song Junwu to clear everyone out of the room. When only three people remained, she took out a mysterious medicine box, then took out the syringes. Still looking very serious, she packaged them as rare treasures passed down through two generations of her clan.

"If I hadn't seen Muyun City in such a crisis, I would never have taken it out, even if you beat me to death."

Did she bring a lot of things with her when she came?

The two people present thought of the same thing at the same time.

Qingyun beckoned Mu Helian over, then looked at Song Junwu. The two exchanged glances, and the man instantly understood. He walked over to her as well, only to see the woman in the gray-black linen dress suddenly grab the man's hand.

Song Junwu: "!?"

Mu Helian: "!?"

Under Mu Helian's glaring eyes, which were like copper bells, Qingyun remained calm and composed. He removed his armor, rolled up his sleeves, took out a yellow plastic bandage, tightly bound it around the man's arm, and then vigorously slapped him.

Song Junwu's veins were very prominent; they were almost visible without needing to look for them. The blue veins extended along his arm to the back of his hand, bulging out very noticeably.

Wow, what beautiful hands! Thinking this, Qingyun took the opportunity to grope them a few more times.

Even though it's a two-dimensional character, the modeling is incredibly advanced.

"Here." She waved for Mu Helian to come closer. "You need to find this place. This is called a blood vessel." After saying that, she took out some alcohol, picked up a piece of relatively clean-looking burlap with chopsticks, and wiped the area where she was going to inject the needle. Then she removed the needle cap, hesitated for a moment, but still couldn't help but look up and comfort her, "It won't hurt. Just bear with it. I'm just demonstrating."

The needle was carefully inserted into the thick vein. Then Qingyun stopped there, since it was just an empty syringe. After pulling it out, she even showed it off, saying, "There's no medicine in here. If there were, it would look like this." As she spoke, she placed her thumb on the small push stick at the back and slowly pushed it all the way in.

The reason Qingyun is giving injections is that there are many animals in the forest that need treatment. Sometimes, forest rangers need to perform simple first aid measures before handing them over to professional rescue teams.

"After drawing out the medication, some of it also needs to be expelled, otherwise air entering the blood vessels can be very troublesome, and could even be fatal."

They both tried their best to understand what she was saying.

Qingyun stepped aside, letting Mu Helian practice on Song Junwu right now. Seeing that he hesitated, she smiled, looking at the man's face, her eyelids blinking rapidly.

“Come on,” Song Junwu said after staring at Qingyun for a long while.

Qingyun had them practice on each other before getting down to business, "These are all calls you'll make to patients with severe symptoms. You have to do them all yourself; you can't delegate them to anyone else, and no one can see you doing it."

As she spoke, her expression turned serious. "I know you have many questions for me, but let me clarify first: I am neither a deity nor a witch. These things were hidden away by my father. He knew that if they were to circulate in the world, they would attract too much attention, which is why he never brought them out."

Qingyun looked solemnly at the two people standing in front of him, "I hope you will keep this a secret and pretend that nothing happened. As long as Muyun City gets through this, I will not ask for credit."

Anyway, since the original owner's father is dead, any blame can be pinned on him. Who can verify the truth of her words? Thinking of this, Qingyun couldn't help but feel that she was clever.

At first, the two of them had some doubts, but after hearing the rest, they understood. After all, Qingyun's current situation showed that being too conspicuous could indeed lead to death.

However, Song Junwu seemed to disagree with Qingyun going to the city alone to provide assistance.

"If you can go, why can't I?"

"This is different."

Upon hearing this, Qingyun turned around, looked at the other person with a firm gaze, and then smiled gently. "Of course." After saying that, she looked at Mu Helian, "I know more about treatment than you do." That's why she had to go.

Even if she talked until her lips were sore, she probably couldn't shake Qingyun's determination. Mu Helian also knew that she was a woman of her word, so she didn't say anything more. Besides, there were so many people guarding the front line, and retreating to the rear was not her style.

As they parted, the man who mounted his horse seemed to want to say something, but after a few moments of hesitation, he couldn't bring himself to speak. He could only helplessly say "Take care."

Mu Helian, pulling on the rope, also turned back. Their eyes met, and their long-standing tacit understanding allowed them to know each other's thoughts without words. Qingyun nodded slightly, indicating that she understood.

Because they still had to wait for others to transfer the patients from each household, Qingyun planned to go to the Commander's Mansion first, since Song Chaohua was still bedridden.

It was the same room where Qingyun had treated her years ago. The bed curtains were drawn, and the air was eerily quiet. There was no one serving her inside. Only when you got close could you hear the faint breathing sounds on the bed. Lifting the bed curtains, you could see that Song Chaohua was completely wrapped up, with only the bedding moving up and down.

When Qingyun opened it, she could clearly feel a resistance, followed by a muffled voice from the other party, "Don't look, sick people don't look good."

"I know."

It was rare to hear the other person speak with less arrogance; perhaps they were mistaking me for Song Chaoyun, after all, she's a deep-seated sister-complex.

Upon hearing this, the small mound on the bed paused noticeably, seemingly surprised, but didn't immediately remove the covers, only asking, "What are you doing here?"

"Let me see how you are now." Without saying a word, she pulled off the blankets. Under Song Chaohua's dissatisfied and murderous gaze, Qingyun still looked her over thoroughly and found that she wasn't in a particularly serious condition, which immediately put her mind at ease.

Perhaps due to the effects of the plague, Song Chaohua was too weak to even hold Qingyun's hand, feeling as if she were at her mercy. But Qingyun knew that if looks could kill, she would have been torn to pieces.

Faced with Qingyun's offering, Song Chaohua did not resist and obediently drank the medicine.

"Where are Yinglian and the others?"

Song Chaohua stared at Qingyun for a while without answering, and finally said, "I don't know."

Hearing this, Qingyun didn't linger. He packed his things and prepared to leave. Before leaving, he reminded her that he would come back later. He told her that the illness was easy to cure and that she didn't need to worry too much.

The person on the bed did not respond, but silently turned away. Qingyun did not take it seriously and immediately walked out to Song Chaoli's residence. Unfortunately, she encountered two people, a man and a woman, in the garden. She thought to herself that something was wrong and quickly hid near a pillar.

Just as she expected, it was Yinglian and that man.

"I'm not leaving." Under the man's authoritative gaze, Yinglian nervously clenched her fists, but still mustered her courage to speak.

"If girls can be here, why can't I?"

“You are different from her,” Qin Li said calmly, standing with his hands behind his back.

"What's the difference?" Upon hearing this, Yinglian finally raised her head to look at the other person. "Is she a man and I a woman, or is she more powerful and famous than me?" Staring at her fingers, which she had been repeatedly digging until they were red, she suddenly realized that she wasn't so afraid of the person in front of her after all.

Besides, she and Qingyun are no different.

The man seemed taken aback by these words, but he narrowed his unfathomable black eyes and asked in a deep voice, "You really want to stay here?"

Yinglian nodded.

"Okay," the man replied, "then I'll do as you say."

Perhaps she was too afraid of him before. In fact, after thinking about it carefully over the past year, Yinglian realized that her relationship with Qin Li had been very peaceful. He had never been too harsh on her. As for being beaten, she didn't really remember it clearly, and she had even forgotten the reason.

She wanted to say she wouldn't go back, but she was afraid the other person wouldn't agree. Just as she was thinking this, she suddenly heard the man's voice echoing in her eardrums again, "We're short-staffed right now, I have to go back." His eyes were dark and unfathomable. He paused for a moment, then reached out and put his hand on Yinglian's shoulder.

A large, cool hand with distinct knuckles gently squeezed his hand, offering a slight reassurance, but his tone still carried a hint of worry, "Be careful in everything you do, the children miss you very much."

Qingyun and Yinglian, who witnessed everything, stood there stunned.

Song Chaoli's residence was quite lively. She leisurely ate the fruit from the fruit plate and watched the maid perform shadow puppetry for her. She was amused and laughed so hard that she rolled around on the floor. She was completely unbecoming of a princess. When she saw the person who came, she raised her eyebrows in surprise, put down her silver fork, and gestured for the shadow puppetry to stop. She sat up straight and said, "Why are you here?"

"I wanted to see if you two were alright," Qingyun replied truthfully.

"We're getting along really well, it's just that my second sister might have something to do."

Upon hearing this, Qingyun replied that Song Chaohua's situation had been properly handled. She then instructed the two to be careful and prepared to leave. Yinglian insisted on going with her, but as soon as she uttered the words, she noticed that Song Chaoli's expression changed, and she suddenly had a bad feeling.

Qingyun felt a chill run down her spine, as if the people behind her were staring right through her. She turned around and glanced at the two of them, finally laughing and saying that it wasn't necessary. However, she had just heard Yinglian's bold words to that man, and if she really wanted to be with her, she wouldn't refuse.

The city patrolmen were very quick, and within half a day they had gathered all the patients. They had just been fighting with swords and now they were going to treat everyone. They couldn't help but wonder what kind of medicine they were selling.

Everyone was placed in the largest ancestral hall in the city. As soon as they entered, they could smell the strong stench of blood and death through their masks, mixed with the smell of sweat and the stench of rotting flesh, all from the ruptured pustules on the bodies of those seriously injured patients.
