“I said I didn’t know,” Song Mian said, looking at Chen Shubin’s shocked expression.
Lin Jiaojiao, on the other hand, paused for a moment before quickly offering a new perspective to comfort Chen Shubin: "Think about it carefully, when people die, they become ghosts. That way, you can directly meet your sister's descendants in the ghost realm! Thinking about it that way, it doesn't seem like a bad thing!"
Song Mian gently patted Lin Jiaojiao's shoulder: "Jiaojiao, people who don't pay back their debts in life are supposed to go to hell after they die, right?"
Lin Jiaojiao suddenly realized something was wrong after hearing this and quickly apologized to Chen Shubin: "I'm so sorry, I forgot about that..."
Those who committed grave sins in their previous lives must suffer in hell after becoming ghosts in order to atone for their sins.
So, the descendants of the antique necklace that Chen Shubin was looking for are most likely living a miserable life in hell right now!
Seeing that Chen Shubin remained silent, Song Mian did not offer any words of comfort to the man.
Naturally, she wouldn't easily tell Chen Shubin that the owner of the antique necklace was none other than his grandmother.
Lin Jiaojiao, on the other hand, said with a mournful face, "Oh no, Boss, is this some kind of hellish way to comfort me?"
Unable to bear seeing Lin Jiaojiao feel guilty because of Chen Shubin, Song Mian bluntly stated, "Mr. Chen, please tell us the truth directly. Don't let my friend feel guilty because of your concealment."
Lin Jiaojiao was shocked: "Young boss, are you serious?"
Song Mian pouted and shook off Lin Jiaojiao's hand: "You'd rather believe other male ghosts than me!"
Seeing that Song Mian looked aggrieved, Lin Jiaojiao quickly put on a smile and came over to comfort her: "Little boss, you know that's not what I meant! How about this, I'll send a message to Ye Feng in a dream and ask him to come and buy more paper money to burn for me, so you won't be upset!"
"That's more like it." Song Mian's indifferent gaze swept over Chen Shubin's bewildered face. "Mr. Chen, now that our last transaction is over, do you intend to continue doing other transactions with me?"
Chen Shubin's face showed the guilt of being caught doing something wrong: "I, I don't have any more antiques for the time being."
Song Mian nodded and didn't chase Chen Shubin away, but just chatted with Lin Jiaojiao on her own.
Lin Jiaojiao glanced at Chen Shubin with disappointment, then ignored him and started chatting enthusiastically with Song Mian.
Chen Shubin, like a ghost, floated in place, completely at a loss.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Song, I didn't mean to." Chen Shubin said softly, his words revealing a deep sense of helplessness: "I admit that I did lie. Actually, what I wanted to find was the owner of this antique necklace. That was my original purpose. I just didn't expect that I originally wanted to ask you for help, but ended up accidentally involving innocent people."
"Then why don't you hurry up and find a way to unlock Miss Qian's ability to see ghosts?" Song Mian said.
Looking at the antique necklace, Chen Shubin felt a deep sense of loss, knowing he would never see its owner again.
“Okay, then I’ll wait here tonight. Tomorrow, you can call Qian Xingyue to the shop. Once I’ve completely taken back the resentment I’ve placed on her, she’ll be safe and sound.” Chen Shubin said, then casually found an empty memorial tablet and crawled inside.
Seeing that Chen Shubin was completely out of it, Lin Jiaojiao felt sorry for him.
"Young boss, how about I send Ye Feng to try and find the owner of this antique? I really think this old man looks very pitiful!" Lin Jiaojiao said with a sigh.
Song Mian looked at Lin Jiaojiao and sighed sincerely, "Now I finally understand why Mr. Qi was so worried about you getting taken advantage of. Your personality is really something else. Jiaojiao, now that we're both ghosts, can you please stop being so soft-hearted?"
Seeing that Lin Jiaojiao hadn't yet realized what she meant, Song Mian lowered her voice and told Lin Jiaojiao the whole story.
After hearing Song Mian's words, Lin Jiaojiao's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets in surprise: "So your grandmother is actually the person Chen Shubin is looking for?"
“That’s most likely the case. I don’t believe in this ghost, and of course I can’t tell him about my grandmother’s clues.” Song Mian put away the antique necklace and continued to speak to Lin Jiaojiao in a low voice: “However, I will go to the hospital to see my grandmother tomorrow. I think I should be able to find out the cause and effect of the matter by then.”
“Young boss, your considerations are indeed very reasonable. It would be best if everything went smoothly, but if a ghost wanted to harm Grandma, this way you can prevent it.” Lin Jiaojiao said, glancing at the memorial tablet as well: “I should also improve myself and not believe everything that other ghosts say.”
"Your personality isn't bad, you just need to trust people who are trustworthy." Seeing Lin Jiaojiao looking rather dejected, Song Mian chuckled, "For example, me, I'm someone you can trust!"
Lin Jiaojiao was immediately amused by Song Mian, and her previous listless state changed completely.
After having a late-night snack with Lin Jiaojiao, Song Mian saw Lin Jiaojiao off. The next morning, she got up early to visit her grandmother at the hospital, but unexpectedly ran into Qi Yefeng as soon as she stepped out the door.
Qi Yefeng must have had a good night's sleep last night, because he came over this morning full of energy to have breakfast with Song Mian.
After entering the store, Qi Yefeng's brows remained furrowed: "Boss Song, I have a feeling that your store isn't very safe?"
Song Mian looked at Qi Yefeng with a puzzled expression, not quite understanding his meaning.
Qi Yefeng said seriously, "When I passed by the door just now, I saw a lot of idle people. I think these people don't seem to have any good intentions. You should be more careful about your safety."
“Mr. Qi, you don’t need to worry. This is a funeral clothing shop after all. Even if someone has bad intentions, they wouldn’t choose to target our shop. You can rest assured.” Song Mian said casually, not noticing that Qi Yefeng’s eyes were becoming increasingly serious.
Qi Yefeng didn't think this was a trivial matter that could be easily dismissed.
Boss Song Mian is too young, which is why he lacks this kind of safety awareness.
But as a man, he knew all too well how outrageous those bad men could be if they wanted to do bad things.
Perhaps he could hire a few bodyguards to stand guard outside the funeral shop in three shifts a day, silently protecting Boss Song's safety.
Knowing that Qi Shan and Lu Sijie had actually spoken to the hospital to help Song Mian reduce some of her medical expenses, Qi Yefeng naturally felt that it was all something the Qi family should do.
Seeing that Qi Yefeng didn't dwell on the topic any further, Song Mian breathed a sigh of relief.
After chatting with Qi Yefeng for a while, Song Mian finished her meal and said goodbye to Qi Yefeng.
