Chapter 29 Don't do that again, you'll get beaten up.

Wen Lu sneered. She thought the man was talking nonsense. He was clearly bullying her, yet he made his reasons for hitting her sound so high-sounding.

At this moment, she was quite worried about Wang Jinyu's condition. Although she had treated the wound very well, the conditions were limited, and she was still worried that Wang Jinyu's wound would get infected.

Wen Lu hesitated for a moment, touching the thing behind his back, but finally decided to finish the job quickly.

Wen Lu pulled out a gun from somewhere, deftly disengaged the safety, and pressed the dark muzzle against the man's brow.

“The gun is yours, and you know better than I do whether it’s real or not. Now you’d better let your men leave so I can take mine away, or your life will end today.”

Wen Lu spoke in an extremely cold tone, like a demon from hell, giving people a powerful sense of oppression. Even the big shot in the car was stunned for a moment.

He looked at Wen Lu quietly, seemingly considering what Wen Lu had said. After hesitating for a few seconds, he made a gesture of surrender.

"You look young, but you are really amazing. There aren't many people who can make me admit defeat, but you are one of them."

Understanding the meaning behind the man's words, Wen Lu returned his smile with a faint one. She removed the pistol from between his brows and casually put it into her pocket, but did not engage the safety.

“I’m taking him with me. I hope you don’t try anything else. You don’t seem to be short of money. You can figure out how to fix the car yourself.”

As she spoke, Wen Lu unlocked the car door and stepped out. The man rolled down the window, looked at Wen Lu, and warned, "Be careful of accidental discharge..."

Wen Lu walked to Ling He's side, pulled Ling He up and shoved him into the passenger seat. Then she made a gun gesture at the man, said nothing more, turned around and walked towards the driver's seat, got into the car, and drove away.

Watching Wen Lu drive away arrogantly, the burly men who had beaten Ling He were somewhat dissatisfied. One of them looked at the man sitting in the car with incomprehension.

"Boss, there are clearly only three of them, why should we assume they're gone?"

"Three people? What a joke! That little girl took my gun, and I almost died at her hands. You bunch of useless bastards, go and find out who this little girl is. Her identity must be extraordinary."

Wen Lu drove his dented car, attracting a lot of attention along the way, and finally stopped the car outside the emergency room of the city's central hospital.

As soon as Wen Lu's car stopped, nurses and doctors rushed out pushing a stretcher. One of the nurses looked at Wen Lu and asked in a gentle and patient voice...

Where is the patient?

"There are two patients. One patient has a laceration that has been stitched up, and the other was beaten up. Further examination is needed to determine the specific circumstances."

Wen Lu calmly explained the situation of Wang Jinyu and Ling He. The doctor and nurse listened patiently, and then together with Wen Lu, they gently lifted Wang Jinyu onto the flatbed cart.

After settling Wang Jinyu in, Wen Lu wanted to help get Ling He out of the car, but before she could leave, Wang Jinyu reached out and grabbed Wen Lu's wrist tightly, preventing her from leaving.

Looking at her wrist being grabbed, Wen Lu sighed helplessly. Her relationship with him was truly a tragic one; she couldn't even give him a chance to escape.

"Patient's family member, come here for a moment, I'll get you a bill, you can go pay right now."

The doctor looked at Wen Lu and spoke impatiently, "What time is it? The two of them are still so lovey-dovey." She immediately regarded Wen Lu as a femme fatale and felt that the injuries of the two people must be related to Wen Lu.

Hearing the doctor's words, Wen Lu pried Wang Jinyu's hand away and freed her wrist from his grasp. She said to Wang Jinyu in a low voice, "Don't worry, I'm not leaving. I'll go pay the bill first and come right back."

Hearing that Wen Lu wouldn't leave, Wang Jinyu finally felt relieved. He withdrew his arm and let the nurse push him away.

As for Ling He, the doctors and nurses had already recognized him. They were all acquaintances, so they treated him even more diligently. Wen Lu didn't care at all; she simply took the two payment slips and went to queue up to pay.

After treatment, Wang Jinyu's condition has stabilized, but due to excessive blood loss, he has fallen into a coma.

Ling He was only seriously injured, with rib contusions and fractures, and the rest were just superficial injuries. He just needed to rest and recover. However, he was not yet fully conscious.

Wen Lu placed the two in the same ward and thoughtfully found them a caregiver. The caregiver was about fifty years old and could take care of them until they regained consciousness. As for what would happen afterward, she trusted that they would make their own arrangements.

After settling Wang Jinyu and Ling He, Wen Lu glanced at the time, then rubbed her empty stomach and left the hospital. It was getting late, and if she didn't go back soon, her family would probably be in an uproar again.

As Wen Lu left the hospital, she smelled a faint aroma of pancakes. After searching around the area, she found a tricycle in a corner. She went over and bought a set of pancakes, then ate them elegantly.

Looking at the pancake in her hand, Wen Lu thought of the food at Tingfeng Tower. She really owed Wang Jinyu something. He had ruined a perfectly good meal. It was infuriating.

Thinking of this, Wen Lu took another bite of the pancake in anger before turning around and walking towards the roadside. She wanted to hail a taxi and get home quickly.

Just as Wen Lu finished the last bite of her pancake, a taxi stopped in front of her. Wen Lu walked to the trash can, threw the pancake wrapper into it, and then returned to the taxi and got in.

Sitting in the car, Wen Lu closed her eyes. She was very tired. Her frail body simply couldn't maintain the amount of exercise she was doing today. It was really too much for her.

Looking in the rearview mirror, the driver recognized Wen Lu and was quite excited, never expecting to have such a connection with this young girl.

"Young lady, did you bring your enemy to the hospital? How was it? Wasn't the route I showed you particularly short, saving you a lot of time?"

Hearing what the driver said, Wen Lu slowly opened her eyes, half-closing her eyes as she looked at the driver's face reflected in the rearview mirror. She found it interesting; the world was a bit small, how could she encounter the same person in two taxi rides?

She half-jokingly replied to the driver, "That place is indeed quite nice, but it's a bit strenuous to climb up. I advise you not to do this kind of thing next time, or you might get beaten up."
