Chapter 11

Chapter 11

"Hey, is everyone here?"

Lu Si held up his phone, one hand in his pocket, and a plastic bag hanging outside, which swayed as he moved. "I'll be there soon. Wait a minute. They probably have quite a few people."

On Friday afternoon, students started to leave the junior high school entrance, and it was full of people.

Lu Siren was tall and handsome, easily visible in a crowd. Already, quite a few young girls with backpacks on their backs were stealing glances at him, whispering to themselves, "Why are you so young? You don't know how to come up and ask for your WeChat or phone number."

Lu Qi was walking out with a black cloth shoulder bag on her shoulder. She passed a few girls who stopped to linger at the school gate. One of them, whom she had bumped into at the cake shop before, turned around and pointed at her: "Lu Qi, is that your brother?"

Lu Qi raised her head and hummed. It was hard for her brother to get so many people turning around even under the shade of the tree. "Yes, what's wrong?"

The girl's face was slightly flushed, but she paused and hesitated: "A few days ago, I heard that your brother beat up someone in our school last year..."

Another girl quickly winked at her and she stopped, realizing that this question shouldn't be asked in front of the person involved.

Lu Qi knew she was a transfer student, so he wasn't surprised at all. He said in a cool tone, "Oh, about that."

She spoke as if it were a mundane matter: "To protect me, my brother cornered the Omegas who bullied me in the bathroom and threatened them. He didn't hit them, but he forced them to transfer schools. That's it—do you still have questions?"

The girl opened her mouth and looked at her, speechless.

Lu Qi lifted the shoulder bag strap that had slipped down and walked towards the shade of the trees in the distance.

Lu Si frowned, narrowed his eyes and glanced at the girls at the door: "Is someone blocking you again?"

"No." Lu Qi took the plastic bag from his hand and shook his head. "There are only a few bad guys in our school. No one dares to bully me now."

Lu Si helped her tighten the loose hairband at the back and tugged at her messy bangs with disdain. "Pay attention to your personal image and make more friends at school."

"I have a lot of friends." Lu Qi grumbled dissatisfiedly. He opened the plastic bag and saw the familiar AD calcium. "Brother, why do you like buying these children's drinks lately?"

"I'm talking about people of the same age." Lu Si refuted her previous sentence lightly, lowering his eyelids, and his gaze fell on the bottle, lingering for a moment, "My classmates gave me two bottles - besides, aren't you a child too?"

Lu Qi blinked. This “classmate” had appeared quite frequently in her brother’s few words recently.

"Is it Omega or Beta?"

The two walked up the slope towards the back mountain. Lu Si's eyes moved around the traffic lights at the intersection, a little vague, and he did not answer.

"Oh——" Lu Qi said in a long tone with a deep meaning, "Is it Omgea?"

"Why don't you guess Alpha?" Lu Si paused and said, "It's the new deskmate."

"I don't mind if you want to have an AA relationship, but I'm afraid Dad will kick you out of the house." Lu Qi stared straight at his pretending to be indifferent face, and suddenly asked, "Brother, are you going to have a premature relationship?"

Lu Si knuckled up and knocked on her head: "Instead of studying hard, you're always asking if others are having premature love affairs, right?"

"You're awesome." Lu Qi covered his head and curled his lips. "You study hard all day and write a 10,000-word self-review at night, right?"

The junior high school and the high school of No. 12 Middle School are located in the west and east respectively, both built on the mountain.

At the end of the uphill road is the top of the mountain.

This place used to be deserted, a desolate wilderness with no one visiting. Recently, a residential complex has been developed here, advertising the area with the slogan, "Overlooking the scenery of the academy, taking in the prosperity of ten miles." Whether or not it's prosperous is hard to say, but the beauty of the academy can be heard from the ringing of the bell every day.

Only the first phase has been completed so far. The second phase was stopped halfway through for some reason, and the construction site was left unattended. Over time, it became abandoned and became a paradise for stray cats and dogs, and those who skipped classes.

There is a dirt road flattened with mud and sand leading to the abandoned construction site.

"Okay," Lu Si stopped at the dirt road intersection, his eyelids drooping lazily, and looked down at her indifferently, "You go to the flower shop and say hello to Sister Xi for me."

Lu Qi glanced at the dirt road behind him before returning his gaze to him: "Are you going to fight?"

"Yeah." Lu Si yawned tiredly, "There's an idiot who keeps pestering me for a fight."

"Do you need to ask for leave for evening study?"

Lu Si rubbed her head and said softly, "It depends on the situation."

"Brother Lu!"

As they approached the construction site entrance, Chen Yi and Mo Ji came over to greet them. "There are quite a few people over there! That bastard Jing Xingye called everyone from the vocational high school next door over here!"

"Do you have a knife?" Lu Si did not go in. He first walked around the wall, suddenly squatted down, picked up the stick that was thrown here during the last fight, and raised his hand to weigh it for a while.

Very good, and it feels like the last fight.

"Huh?" The two were stunned. "Brother Lu, should we go find a knife now?"

"I asked them if they had knives." Lu Si looked at them as if they were idiots.

"Ah? I guess, he didn't bring it?" The two were unsure. They looked at each other and then at Brother Lu. "So what if he did bring it?"

Lu Si said bluntly, "Call the police if you bring them. I won't fight with a lunatic."

Outside the east gate, on the second floor of a restaurant, Gu Fang had just ordered a bowl of rice noodles when Le Jiayu stood up and said she was going to the bathroom. Then she picked up her phone and sneaked downstairs as if she was doing something shameful.

Gu Fang was a little suspicious, but didn't think much about it.

The phone screen suddenly lit up.

Gu Fang's phone is usually on silent mode. Except for special contacts, whether he replies to messages in time depends on fate.

This time, this "destined person" happened to send a big red envelope.

He didn't remember what holiday it was today, so he clicked on it curiously.

It turned out to be Uncle Jing, Jing Xingye’s father.

-Fangfang, I heard from Xiaoye yesterday that you went to No. 12 Middle School after being discharged from the hospital?

-Uncle is sending a red envelope, congratulations on your successful admission! If you have any questions, just look for Xiaoye, he's in the class next door. If that kid doesn't cooperate, tell me anytime and I'll take care of him!

After politely replying to Uncle Jing, Gu Fang held up his phone, tapped the desktop with his fingertips, and his eyes drooped with deep thought.

Jing Xingye hadn't mentioned it before, but why did he mention it yesterday? Le Jiayu also felt a little strange.

When Xiaole finished using the restroom and sneaked back to his seat like a thief, Gu Fang asked calmly, "What has Jing Xingye been busy with recently? Do you want to call him out and have a meal together?"

Before Le Jiayu sat down, the phone in her hand shook with fear, and she caught it in a panic.

Three consecutive denials: "No! Nothing! He's busy now, very busy!"

"I didn't ask him to come right now." Gu Fang narrowed his eyes slightly, curving them into a graceful and gentle arc. "Le Le, what are you feeling guilty about?"

Le Jiayu lowered her voice even more, picking at her nails with both hands, "I don't feel guilty, who feels guilty? What does Jing Xingye do have to do with me? ... He, he is just not free now, he wants to have a dinner, let's meet again this weekend-"

"Le Jiayu." Gu Fang interrupted him calmly, his tone still gentle. But after he addressed her by her full name, Le Jiayu couldn't help but feel a chill running down her spine. "You and Jing Xingye aren't close enough to know his whereabouts at all times? - Is what he's busy with related to me?"

"I..." Le Jiayu looked at him confusedly, "It has nothing to do with you, Fang Fang."

After gritting her teeth, Le Jiayu simply told the truth: "This was all my idea! It's all Lu Si and the others... I've disliked that group for a long time!"

Gu Fang's pupils dimmed for a moment, his eyelashes fluttered several times, and then he stood up suddenly under Le Jiayu's surprised gaze.

The chair behind him made a long "rustling" sound, harshly interrupting Le Jiayu's next words.

"Lu Si--"

Under the cold light, Gu Fang's face was pale, almost transparent. The pheromones left by the previous guests made him feel nauseous, and he had completely lost the mood to eat. He closed his eyes and forced himself to calm down.

"...Let go?" Le Jiayu also stood up, worried about his pale face. She wanted to help him but didn't dare.

Gu Fang leaned on the table, propped up his eyelids and looked at him. He heard himself ask calmly, "What are you going to do?"

Lu Si actually doesn’t like fighting very much.

A civilized society should resolve disputes in a civilized manner. Unfortunately, there are too few civilized people like him in this world.

Across from him, Jing Xingye was making pre-battle threats, and Lu Si really wanted to just swing at him with his club—get it over with quickly so he could get back to evening study. But even the people on his side were eager to try their hand at the threats.

According to the rules of the martial arts world, pheromones are not allowed to be released during a fight to prevent unfair victory.

There were more people in the street dance club than in the band. Lu Si had called in a number of unemployed young people from the Dongmen Market in advance to support the place.

But Jing Xingye really wanted to make a big move today, so he called over seven or eight future unemployed young people from the vocational high school next door. In terms of numbers alone, he outnumbered them.

But fighting wasn't a numbers game. Lu Si raised his weary eyelids and scanned the room. He could tell who was who at a glance, and there wasn't a single one capable of fighting.

"And more!" Jing Xingye concluded his harsh words, "You bunch of hooligans, stay away from Gu Fang! His family background is so impressive—even more impressive than mine. You can't afford to offend me. Stay away, understand?"

Lu Si heard it clearly, but didn't understand it.

"Tsk." Mo Ji understood. "Jing Xingye, you bastard! You're standing up for your boyfriend, right?"

"Watch your fucking mouth!" Jing Xingye raised his stick and pointed it at him. "If I see you messing with Gu Fang again during PE class, I'll beat you until there's nothing left of you!"

Physical education class?

Lu Si raised his eyebrows, a look of bewilderment in his eyes, but he quickly guessed something. Gu Fang had only attended physical education once this week, yesterday afternoon, and the Cultural and Sports Department was in a meeting, so he didn't go.

He looked at Mo Ji, then tilted his head very obviously, his gaze falling on Chen Yi behind him.

Chen Yi felt goosebumps all over his body, but he gritted his teeth and refused to look at Lu Si's eyes.

"Damn it!" Xie Ziyao rushed forward with a stick in hand. "You son of a bitch, Jing Xingye! You're using us as a raft just to show off to Little Piaoliang, right?"

This kid didn't understand the situation at all and just went up recklessly.

Lu Si was waiting to settle the score with Chen Yi and Mo Ji. In order to prevent Xie Ziyao from being the first to fail, he first kicked down the vocational high school student who rushed towards Xie Ziyao with a stick, and then hit them again with a stick, not on the head, but on the abdomen and waist.

When the man was grimacing in pain and bending over, he raised his long legs and kicked him in the knee. Soon, the man on the opposite side knelt down in unison and wished Lu Si a happy new year.

Jing Xingye has practiced specially and has a quick reaction to dodge, but unfortunately his moves are always fancy.

Lu Si was looking at his phone on the subway, watching Jing Xingye performing powerful stick techniques, but like a fool, he didn't even protect himself. Lu Si raised his long legs and attacked his knees. Jing Xingye fell to the ground and bowed to him.

"Be good." Lu Si raised the corner of his lips, "Uncle won't give you a red envelope."

"Fuck!" Jing Xingye's face flushed red. He held up the stick and was about to attack again, but Xie Ziyao and an unemployed young man from the Dongmen Market stopped him. He had to watch Lu Si crush everyone in the arena.

They were all noobs, and they looked like fools in front of Lu Si. They fell down before they could even see his moves.

At this time, the last three vocational high school students rushed forward with numbing scalps.

Lu Si kicked one down first, sending the second man's stick flying, and then knocked down the last man with a side kick.

Lu Si glanced at the mournful scene and turned to ask, "What time is it?"

Xie Ziyao was fighting fiercely with Jing Xingye and the members of the street dance club. Xiao Yuanshan checked his phone: "There's still half an hour left before evening self-study."

Mo Ji smacked his lips: "You still have to go to class, Brother Si?"

Jing Xingye felt insulted: "We are not done yet, Lu Si!"

Chen Yi also looked over guiltily, but his pupils suddenly constricted: "Brother Lu! Behind you——"

Lu Si saw out of the corner of his eye that the vocational high school student with only a stick flying towards him was rushing towards him. The other party was unarmed, while he still had a stick in his hand. Lu Si reduced his strength and slashed towards the man's abdomen.

The vocational high school student reacted well and grabbed the stick.

Lu Si raised his cold eyebrows and was about to kick him.

The vocational high school student suddenly threw another punch at his face. Lu Si anticipated it and blocked it with his left hand. After successfully blocking it, he was about to grab the other person's wrist to relieve the force when he suddenly felt something wet dripping from the palm of his hand.

—Scarlet and sticky.

When Lu Si grabbed the other person's wrist, the sharp object slid from his palm all the way to his wrist at a peculiar angle, using a lot of force.

Everyone was stunned when the scarlet liquid dripped.

The blood and pain made Lu Si unable to control the release of pheromones. The scent of mint was like an awl, instinctively hitting the forehead of the enemy who violated his territory. The vocational high school student couldn't bear it and frowned in pain.

Lu Si first kicked the opponent to the ground, then quickly kicked the knife with a cold glow away.

"Brother Lu!" Xie Ziyao and others shouted as if their mother had died.

Jing Xingye was also panicking: "Fuck! Why is there someone carrying a knife?!"

Xie Ziyao lifted up Jing Xingye's collar with one hand: "How the hell do you not know? Why are you pretending? The people you brought with you!"

The members of the street dance club rolled up their sleeves and rushed forward again relying on their numbers.

At this moment, a voice suddenly rang out from the entrance of the construction site: "Stop it!"

Perhaps the sound from outside was too abrupt, or perhaps the voice was too cold and harsh, so everyone stopped.

Lu Si saw Gu Fang at the door and Le Jiayu panting behind him. A dazed look appeared on his face, and he probably didn't understand what was going on.

...Are you looking for Jing Xingye again?

In his hazy mind, Lu Si vaguely grasped an idea.

Xie Ziyao also pushed Jing Xingye back to the rest of the hip-hop club: "Damn it! I'm here to find you again, Jing Goubi!"

Everyone saw the standard handsome boy at the door saw something, his face turned pale in an instant, he first walked quickly, and then couldn't help running.

Passed by people from the street dance club and others.

He didn't even look at Xie Ziyao and the others.

He ran over to the still dazed Lu Si and carefully held up his left hand. He frantically searched for something to bandage it, and with a pale face, he shouted to Le Jiayu, "Call 120! What are you standing there for?"

Lu Si didn’t know if it was an illusion, but he felt his voice was trembling.

The hand holding him was also shaking.

Lu Si was actually very confused. He felt as if he had won the lottery which he would never win in vain.

He didn't even understand why he was hiding joy in his confusion.

His brain, completely shut down, only posed one question: "Who should I call 120?"
