Chapter 15
Gu Fang ran into the empty bathroom and went straight into the last cubicle. He supported himself on the partition, bent his waist, and took a few deep breaths before suppressing the heat that seemed to be from estrus.
He subconsciously reached into his school uniform pocket, but didn't feel the familiar barrier patch.
I left in such a hurry, running for my life, that I forgot to bring it with me.
More importantly, it was over, he was finished. Without any explanation, he had just shaken off his hand. After all, the other party was helping him—although for him, this kind of "help" was worse than no help at all.
He held his forehead in regret, and at this moment, he faintly smelled his own pheromones on his neck.
The fragrance of orchids in the quiet and distant place.
Sometimes, even Gu Fang couldn’t figure out whether he simply liked Lu Si’s pheromones, or whether he liked his pheromones because of Lu Si.
He doesn't even like his own pheromones.
Gu Fang frowned in annoyance. Fortunately, the bathrooms were equipped with air filters, and the smell soon dissipated into thin air, leaving only the smell of disinfectant that calmed him down.
Before the blackboard was finished, Gu Fang finally overcame the urge to desert.
He walked back to the sink, rummaged through the self-service box on the wall, pulled out a bottle of barrier agent, and calmly sprayed it on his neck. After washing his hands, he looked at himself in the mirror, thoughtfully, and reached out to poke the now clean tip of his nose.
He couldn't help but think that Lu Si's fingers must have magic, after all, he could play the guitar so beautifully.
But he felt nothing when he poked it himself.
Gu Fang came in from the back door, lowered his head and walked in front of Lu Si, his little rabbit ears drooping.
Lu Si frowned and looked at him with lowered eyes.
"……sorry."
The two were silent for a while, then spoke at the same time.
Gu Fang was startled for a moment, then smiled and said, "Why are you saying sorry to me?"
Lu Si's jawline tensed for a moment, and his sharp brows couldn't help but soften a little. A fleeting smile flashed through his eyes: "What about you? Why are you telling me?"
Gu Fang drooped his long eyelashes and said listlessly, "You were helping me, and I... was impolite. I didn't say thank you and even pushed you away."
What a good boy.
Lu Si was feeling the same way every day, and when it was his turn, he frankly confessed his reason: "I didn't ask for your opinion in advance, and it's not very polite to help without your permission."
Regardless of what they think in their hearts, just listening to the surface reasons, they both feel that the other is sincere.
A smile gradually blossomed between Gu Fang's brows, and the little rabbit became energetic again, thinking that Brother Lu Si was simply the most reasonable person in the world: "I accept your apology."
Lu Si also hummed, raised his eyebrows and said, "I accept it too."
It was only half past six when they finished drawing the blackboard newspaper and returned. After leaving the school gate, Lu Si walked down the hill with him, carrying his schoolbag slung over his shoulder.
Gu Fang glanced at him in confusion, remembering the last time he met Lu Si that morning, he was coming down the ramp. Noticing his gaze, Lu Si loosened the collar of his shirt, unbuttoning it, and said calmly, "I'll take you to the bus stop."
The bus stop is at the intersection of this downhill road.
"Thank you." Gu Fang had no choice but to say.
"On the way." Lu Si said.
Gu Fang walked with his head down, then quickly raised his head again, remembering what Lu Si had said that morning, poking him on the forehead: "Watch where you're walking." The wall surrounding No. 12 Middle School was paved with red porcelain, and Gu Fang's gaze was drawn to the shadows of the two people on it. The shadows of branches and leaves in the setting sun swept past their heads in the wind, and the cicadas' chirping was hidden in the thick golden shade.
Gu Fang enjoyed the tranquility of walking side by side.
The bus came. Gu Fang took a few steps and got on it, then entered the back car and waved to Lu Si through the glass.
Lu Si just looked at him through the car window. The afterglow cast a warm shadow on the side of his side-parted hair, making his starry eyes look very dark.
Gu Fang's gaze could finally pass over the exposed collarbone in broad daylight. The half-undone collar made the cold white skin, which was covered with a layer of warm glaze, disappear into the darkness that no one could see. Gu Fang's soft brows slightly frowned.
The bus let out a whirring sound of exhaust as it lurched forward. The clavicle that had held his gaze fixed on it finally vanished, and Gu Fang slowly began to feel a surge of self-loathing for his unspeakable thoughts about Lu.
In comparison, Lu Si's friendship with his classmates is so simple.
There were few passengers on the bus at this time.
Gu Fang sat down in the nearest seat. A child in front of him knelt on a chair and looked at him: "Little brother, you are so beautiful!"
Gu Fang's frown relaxed slightly and he smiled at him.
The child's Omega father also turned around and smiled at him kindly. Gu Fang then lowered his head to reply to the driver's message.
-Sorry, I suddenly decided to take the bus back and forgot to tell you in advance.
Although he had a whole day off on Sunday, Gu Fang still got up at 5:30 in the morning.
Last night, my uncle called and said we could move into the neighborhood near the school this morning, and asked if he had anything else to move. Gu Fang didn't think he needed any workers, as all he needed to move were bookshelves full of study materials, an easel and a painting box, and two small pots of mint.
All the things to be moved were put into storage boxes. The driver drove a car with a large trunk capacity. He and the driver moved the things bit by bit, just filling the trunk.
Gu Fang got into the car carrying the two small pots of mint. Just as he fastened his seat belt, a phone call came in.
"Fang Fang," Le Jiayu said from the other end, "I'm at the gate of the residential complex at the back of the mountain. Which unit and building is the new house?"
"Let me see," Gu Fang clicked on the hands-free mode and slid his finger across the message screen. "Unit 2, Building 4."
"What's the odd number?"
Gu Fang canceled the hands-free mode and put the phone to his ear: "On the top floor."
"The whole top floor?"
Gu Fang hummed, "The password is two 6s plus my birthday."
"Six, rich people are really stupid," Le Jiayu teased. "This house was only bought in August, right? Breaking through the wall made such a big noise, and no one downstairs complained?"
Gu Fang hesitated and said, "I bought the whole floor downstairs too."
Le Jiayu walked into the community and was silent for a moment, with nothing to say except "666".
Gu Fang lowered his eyes: "My uncle bought it for me, saying it would be quiet this way."
"What's Mr. Gu thinking?" Le Jiayu babble. "Aren't people usually afraid that the noise upstairs will disturb the people downstairs? He lives upstairs, so he's worried that the people downstairs are too tall and will hit the ceiling."
Gu Fang curled his lips, amused by him.
A two-meter-eight giant appeared before my eyes.
Think of a certain "giant".
Gu Fang sighed, his tone melancholy: "Le Le, I'm only seventeen, can I still grow?"
"Yes," Le Jiayu teased him as she typed in her password downstairs, her phone tucked between her legs. "It can do secondary differentiation. A B cell can grow another two centimeters, and an A cell can grow another ten centimeters. So, did your genes already mutate in order to grow taller?"
"No," Gu Fang hooked the mint leaves with his fingertips, leaned back in his chair, and tilted his head, "O is good."
After all, only Alpha and Omega can be together.
"People should be content with what they have." Le Jiayu walked towards the elevator and sighed, "I'm already 1.8 meters tall and I'm jealous."
"Am I not satisfied?" Gu Fang asked back in a simple tone.
Le Jiayu couldn't quite put her finger on it, "It's just... the type of person who is sometimes content, and sometimes not, without even realizing it."
The car slowly braked at the traffic light intersection. Gu Fang's eyelashes drooped and his pupils darkened.
Le Jiayu helped with the moving, and the property management also sent a few security guards to help. Before noon, all the things were moved in.
After seeing off the driver and the property management, the two of them took a quick tour of the house.
As long as you're not afraid of heights, the view from the rooftop is truly amazing. Le Jiayu lay on the balcony, twisting her head back and forth: "Wow, Fang Fang, I can even see the windows of our class!"
"You have really good eyesight then." Gu Fang went to the refrigerator and got him a diet cola. He also glanced at No. 12 Middle School on the hillside. He couldn't tell which class was which from the rows of buildings. However, the green grass of the playground and the flagpole were particularly conspicuous in the open area.
This perspective of overlooking the school gives people a feeling of sudden enlightenment.
Le Jiayu pointed to him and said, "Do you see that construction site? It's where they had the fight the day before yesterday."
Gu Fang squinted his eyes and looked, and it was true.
At this time, Le Jiayu turned around and explained seriously: "I apologized to Lu Si yesterday and transferred all the medical expenses to him."
"I saw it," Gu Fang said, "the milk tea you sent."
Although, it went into Chen Yi's stomach.
"When you are in doubt, you just send milk tea, right?" Gu Fang felt that he had grasped the social methods of contemporary young people.
Le Jiayu smacked her lips and said, "You're different. When you're undecided, you give me AD calcium."
Gu Fang put the supplementary teaching materials on the bookshelf, and Yue Jiayu "helped" him to inspect the snack spots in the house. He solved each one and sighed: "Little Gu is really considerate in his work. No wonder he is notorious and there are so many men and women who stick to him."
"Notorious?" Gu Fang was watering mint and straightened up to look.
Le Jiayu corrected herself: "It's okay to be famous."
After they both finished their work, Xiaole said that there was a snack street near the junior high school that was open on weekends, so they decided to go for a walk.
Gu Fang looked at the people who were shouting about losing weight with admiration. They ate from one end of the street to the other, and they said that only when they were full would they have the energy to lose weight.
"I can't take it anymore, my mouth is full of spicy oil." Le Jiayu collapsed on a bench by the street, "Let go, I can't walk anymore, I need a cup of milk tea to survive."
"You need to gain three pounds." Gu Fang shook his head.
There was a milk tea shop diagonally across the street, and he went there anyway despite Le Jiayu's request.
Behind the counter, a tall boy was bending over to pack a cup of milk tea. Gu Fang didn't look closely, his attention was focused on the phone where a message suddenly popped up.
[TS Senior Citizens Association]
-Admin 7: Brothers and sisters, important announcement! Next Monday's performance has been moved forward to tonight. If you haven't bought your tickets yet, hurry up! @All members
-Why is it early?
-Administrator 7: It seems that Wanliang will refurbish the equipment next week.
Feeling that the customer in front had left, Gu Fang took a step forward without even looking up: "Two glasses of lemonade, less ice and normal sugar."
The finger tapping on the cash register paused, and Lu Si raised his head from behind the counter.
The boy before me had his head buried in his phone, his black baseball cap pulled low, casting a shadow over half his face. The other half, likewise, was obscured by a black mask. Only the straight, graceful bridge of his nose remained, sliding down through the shadows, veiled in yet another layer of veil that evoked a multitude of thoughts.
"Scan the code?" Lu Si raised his eyelids and asked in a neither loud nor low voice.
"Yes." Gu Fang came back to his senses and quickly quit the chat.
Just as he was about to switch to the payment software, he suddenly realized something and raised his head sharply.
Lu Si raised his eyebrows at him: "Sweep here."
Gu Fang scanned the code in a daze, and then waited obediently by the side as he was instructed. He held the phone in his hand, frowned slightly, and glanced at the counter from time to time. It seemed that he had not yet realized that he would meet Lu Si here.
There are not many customers near the school on weekends, so Lu Si is the only one guarding the store.
He was wearing a light brown apron and sleeves, which seemed to be work clothes with the name of the milk tea shop printed on it.
His movements were very smooth, and Gu Fang felt dazzled. He only noticed his slender fingertips poking and tapping, and then pulling out trial cups of various colors, moving back and forth between the counters. His movements were fast but orderly, giving people a pleasing feeling.
Looks like he's been working here for a long time.
Soon the two glasses of lemonade were packed. Lu Si put them into the straws and handed them over to the counter: "Your two glasses of lemonade, I hope you enjoy them. Welcome to come next time."
The tone is steady and the speech is done in one breath.
Gu Fang took it and couldn't help but curl up the corners of his lips: "It was very pleasant, I will come again next time."
Lu Si opened his eyelids slightly and glanced at him.
He is the only one who says he is happy even without drinking.
A barely perceptible smile flashed across Lu Si's eyes. He groped under the cash register, grabbed something, and said calmly, "Hand."
"Huh?" Gu Fang was confused and obediently spread out one hand.
It was a huge handful of toffee, so full that it took two hands to hold it all in a hurry.
"Enough, enough." Gu Fang hurriedly stopped Lu Si who was still adding more food.
Lu Si was like an unscrupulous tourist feeding a white rabbit at the zoo. He was still not satisfied and reluctantly stopped. “There was a sale at the market this morning, so I weighed three pounds.”
Let's not talk about the concept of three pounds of milk candy. Just talking about sugar being measured by kilograms was the first time Gu Fang had heard of it, so he asked a very stupid question: "Can sugar be measured by kilograms?"
Lu Si glanced at him and said, "Everything can be weighed by kilograms."
After searching all his pockets, Gu Fang finally finished putting all the candies in. He immediately peeled open one, took off his mask, and put it in his mouth.
There were no customers at the back for the time being, so Lu Si asked him casually, "Is it sweet?"
Without the mask, his smooth chin and beautifully lined lips emerged from the shadows. Lu Si's gaze gradually blurred, his focus set on the upturned line of his lips, and he was slightly lost in thought.
Because of her sickly pale skin, her lips look very red.
Be famous but don't know it.
Gu Fang didn't notice it and was concentrating on feeling the soft toffee melting in his mouth.
He didn't give a perfunctory response, and gave Lu Si his honest opinion: "Sweet."
But Lu Si suddenly avoided his gaze, put his lips to his chest and coughed softly: "Eat more sweet food."
There was an indescribable feeling, Lu Si intuitively felt that this was very dangerous.
Because he actually felt that... it was more than just cute.
The author has something to say:
What else, Xiaolu?
