Chapter 2 NPC

Sand flew from the top of the cave and was clearly visible under the sunlight at the entrance. Song Luo took a deep breath and without hesitation operated "Cang Hai Yi Dao" and walked into the cave.

In the cold cave, the diligent mother groundhog was holding her four children and looking for food in the cave. She dragged out half a lamb's carcass from somewhere and started to feast on it.

“Snap!”

There was a sudden sound of a knife blade.

The girl, like a skilled and experienced hunter, beheaded the diligent mother mouse with one stroke. Within a few breaths after beheading her, while the four baby mice were still unable to react, light blue waves began to emerge gradually, and with the gathering like flowing water, the four baby mice were instantly cut into pieces as if they were withered.

After killing the monster, Song Luo did not hesitate at all. He controlled the character and walked straight south. He found three shivering humans in the corner.

"Um?"

Looking at these three humans, Song Luo was stunned: This was the first time he had encountered an unknown change in such a long time!

"Is it because I didn't go straight to the monster a few weeks ago, but explored other parts of the cave, that these three people were eaten by these rats?"

Song Luo held the phone and muttered to himself, feeling very interested in the three new people who appeared.

Just when Song Luo was very interested in them, a dialog box suddenly popped up, showing the following dialogue and options: "Thank God, someone finally came to rescue us. You are..."

Immediately afterwards, three dialogue options appeared below.

Option A. '...(cold face)'

Option B. 'I am the 74th generation descendant of the Canghai Sect. Doing justice is my job. No need to thank me.'

Option C. Attack the opponent

Looking at these three options, Song Luo fell into deep thought.

Do these three choices affect the plot and mission rewards? Or are they just three options?

Also, why doesn't this game have dubbing? What's so interesting about dry words?

Although Song Luo always fast-forwarded and ignored the voice chat when playing games before, I can choose not to listen, but you can’t!

After all, this was the first time such an option appeared, so Song Luo had to take it seriously. He looked at the three people carefully: they were ragged and dusty, and it was difficult to tell what they looked like.

However, Song Luo could see that each of these three people had different details, and seemed to be modeled separately and differently.

This touched Song Luo deeply. He thought this game would be like the card-drawing games he had played before, with outstanding character models for the main characters, and ordinary NPCs could be copied and pasted. He didn't expect that the NPCs would be individually modeled...

Wait, could these three also be card-drawing characters?

After reading it with a cold voice, Song Luo looked at the three options again. Before he could make a choice, it seemed to assume that the countdown was over and automatically chose option A.

“…”

Yang Huanyi had a stern face, and his fair face was as cold as frost. He just raised his beautiful eyes slightly and looked at the three people. An invisible aura immediately intimidated the three people.

"The target was shocked"

After a prompt box popped up, nothing happened.

?

Song Luo typed a question mark on the spot: "Is there no subsequent plot for option A? Could it be that this is just an ordinary conversation without any quest being triggered?"

Song Luo thought about the games he had played in the past, and it was indeed true. Some villager NPCs who were captured by bandits, monsters, or rebel armies would indeed talk to him for a sentence or two, but basically there would be no information.

"Oh my god, I forgot about this."

Song Luo really thought that this cross-century masterpiece game that could be said to be ahead of its time would be different from normal games, but he didn't expect that such a situation would be inevitable.

After finishing his speech, Song Luo shrugged his shoulders, and no longer paid attention to the three villager NPCs, and continued to move deeper into the cave.

The game was played in the third person. Through the peripheral vision of the screen, Song Luo seemed to see that the three people seemed to be fiddling with something. Song Luo found it interesting and decided to wait until he finished defeating the boss and came back to see if there were any special easter eggs that could be triggered.

As for now, forget it. I dealt with the ratmen faster this time than in previous times, so I saved three NPCs. Maybe there were similar situations before?

Thinking of this, Song Luo became interested and continued to control the character to explore the area ahead.

The entire cave is very large, and there are some other monsters in the area, but in comparison they can only be regarded as "small monsters". It is very satisfying to mow them down for yourself, killing one small monster with one sword, and it is not difficult to operate.

The real difficulties are the mother mouse and her four baby mice, the toad that can spit magma, the one-eyed giant, the vampire bats, and a mysterious boss that Song Luo has not seen yet, who is not sure whether it is a porcupine or a hedgehog.

“Gurgle…Gurgle…”

A rhythmic frog croaking sound came from the headphones, and Song Luo immediately knew that he had controlled the character to reach the location of the second level's small boss "Magma Toad".

This lava toad naturally gave itself a name. There was something wrong with this game, but the NPCs and monsters had no names, so Song Luo still didn't know what to call them.

"Isn't this game still in beta?"

Song Luo yawned, skillfully controlled the character, and madly dealt damage to the lava toad.

The lava toad is quite easy to fight. If you are not used to its attack frequency at first, you may be affected by skills, but after getting used to the toad's attack frequency, this lava toad is easier to fight than the mother mouse and her four baby mice.

After all, it still requires some operating skills to quickly pass the wave of ratmen.

About thirty seconds later, the lava toad fell to the ground, but there was still no equipment dropped and no feedback was given. Song Luo had already gotten used to this and continued to control the character to move forward.

After breaking through the lava toad, the next boss is the most difficult boss Song Luo feels at the moment.

Although the vampire bat is difficult to deal with, it can be killed instantly with one blow before the battle begins. However, this one-eyed giant is different. He is definitely a soul boss. You can only rely on your own skills to scrape him to death.

After thinking about the strategy in his mind for a moment, Song Luo was ready to start the team fight.

"drink!"

"ha!"

Song Luo controlled the character, and Yang Huanyi would occasionally make some mysterious noises. After admiring the character's figure for a few seconds, Song Luo resolutely stepped towards the deep pit in front.

“Boom—”

"Boom, boom, boom—"

As soon as I stepped into this place, the ground and walls began to shake. After a brief earthquake, the screen fell into darkness.

Immediately afterwards, on Song Luo's screen, in the deep and dark cave, a pair of bloodshot eyes slowly opened, revealing murderous intent.

Immediately afterwards, a deafening roar pierced the sky!

"roar--!!!!"

The health bar slowly expanded. Song Luo took a deep breath and began to operate his fingers quickly.
