Chapter 217 The Real Monkey King

The night ends and the day dawns.

In the hazy sky, a pale sky gradually rose in the distance.

Old Sun woke up from his sleep, yawned, and then urinated skillfully.

He was the operator of a circus, but he did not rent a place somewhere to sell tickets publicly. Instead, he traveled all over the province, 'touring' and performing wherever he went.

However, they encountered some problems in Funan County: for safety reasons, they were restricted from traveling.

But it doesn’t matter. The government gives a lot of subsidies every day. It’s not a big deal anyway, so Lao Sun accepted it.

The other three or two disciples around him had all gotten up, which made Old Sun very satisfied. After nodding, he asked one of them, "Where's Huanhuan?"

"He should still be in the cage. Huanhuan has been losing a lot of hair recently. I have applied a lot of ointments but it doesn't seem to be getting better. I don't think the veterinarian in this small city is good enough. If we want to cure Huanhuan, we have to go to a big city." The eldest apprentice was stunned for a moment and spoke to Lao Sun.

"Oh my god, why did Huanhuan get psoriasis?"

Old Sun was feeling a little depressed.

Huanhuan is a monkey in their circus. He is smart, cute and lovable. Old Sun likes this monkey very much.

When he was learning the skills at his master's house, he learned the skills of monkey show. Huanhuan was his partner, but after coming to Funan County last week, Huanhuan got some kind of "psoriasis" and lost a lot of hair. He is now bald.

They had no effective means to deal with this. They had tried all the traditional remedies and had visited all the major veterinary clinics in Funan County, but nothing worked.

In desperation, I could only rest at home.

However, this week, the police also came to check on their animals. Old Sun had no comment on this. Their circus didn't have many animals, only five monkeys, a lion, a black bear, two zebras, and a few parrots. The rest were mostly tests for the performers and had little to do with the animals.

After the policemen finished the inspection, they didn't say anything. After all, Lao Sun was a regular circus performer and had all the necessary certificates such as the 'Animal Breeding License'. The police naturally wouldn't make things difficult for them. They just moved their base to another location and didn't do anything too excessive.

After yawning, Lao Sun decided to go see Huanhuan in person.

Old Sun walked leisurely towards Huanhuan's cage as if taking a stroll. He saw a hairless monkey curled up in the corner of the cage. It seemed to be hiding in the corner and shivering, with fear in its eyes.

But again, these eyes seem full of spirituality.

It was because of these eyes that Lao Sun chose this macaque.

"Huanhuan, why are you losing so much hair again?"

Seeing his partner like this, Old Sun couldn't help but feel extremely distressed. He quickly took out a peach from the side, wiped it on his trouser leg, and handed it to Huanhuan. He muttered to himself, "I don't know how long it will take for traffic to resume. When it does, we'll go to Yeling City and make sure to cure you of this problem."

"Squeak, squeak, squeak."

The macaque squeaked twice in response. Old Sun smiled and felt an inexplicable sense of warmth.

He has no children, only a group of disciples and these monkeys. In his heart, Old Sun has already regarded them as his most precious things.

"Master, don't hang out with this beast. Don't let him infect you with something. Come and eat."

Not far away, the disciples' voices could be heard faintly. Upon hearing this, Old Sun smiled and nodded. He no longer paid attention to the macaque Huanhuan, but prepared to go eat with his disciples.

Of course, precious things also have a priority. No matter how cute Huanhuan is, he is still a monkey, just a pet for entertainment. The ones who are really worthy of Lao Sun's attention are only his disciples.

Amidst the laughter and joy, only the indifferent look of the macaque Huanhuan remained.

"Squeak, squeak, squeak."

Huanhuan called out twice, but the meaning seemed unclear and no one could understand what it meant.

"When do we eat?"

Old Sun walked over with small steps, looking at his apprentices with a smile, and suddenly found that there were several strangers in uniform standing around his apprentices, and there were already soldiers surrounding the yard.

“What…what’s going on?!”

Old Sun was frightened by the scene. He started babbling nonsense. After looking around, he began to slur his words: "Your Excellency, we...we are just a small business. We haven't done anything illegal..."

The eldest disciple hurried over to support Old Sun and said to him, "Master, it's nothing. These people are all busy with official business."

"Official business?" Old Sun was a little confused, but didn't say anything.

He hunched over and tried to hide in a corner as much as possible so that no one would notice him.

He did this naturally because he felt guilty.

Although he looks like a skinny old man who is timid and cowardly now, he was an out-and-out jerk when he was young.

Of course, he didn't do anything like killing people or cutting off fingers. All he did was to join a few gang fights and steal someone's motorcycle, luckily he didn't get caught.

But no matter what, after you have done these illegal things and seen the state's violent organs, you will naturally feel an inexplicable fear in your heart.

Everyone present could naturally see what Lao Sun did, but the most important thing now was not Lao Sun, but something else.
