Chapter 6 You call this a bedroom?

Chapter 6 You call this a bedroom?

After finishing dinner, Shi Miao felt dizzy and listless for a while.

She curled up like a little cat ball under the counter, her soft, furry belly rising and falling gently with her breath.

Shi Miao possesses an extremely rare talent for controlling time, which is why she was able to protect herself from being torn to pieces in the time tunnel and survive until she was picked up by the main god.

His talent has been overdrawn.

Shi Miao is still considered a seriously injured and sick cat.

Even a slight reversal of time caused her to fall into a state of confusion and fainting.

The system sensed something was wrong, cursed, opened the shop, exchanged its points for a mental potion, and used its physical form to wake Shi Miao up with a thud, then poured the potion into the kitten's mouth.

It's so bitter.

Shi Miao's kitten face scrunched up, and her ears were flattened into airplane ears.

The system retorted irritably: [Are you out of your mind? The Supreme God repeatedly told you to take good care of your injuries, do you remember?]

Shi Miao realized she had acted impulsively, so she rested her chin on her paws and apologized softly.

I won't use my talent anymore, Commander, don't be angry.

She tilted her head, her fluffy little head rubbing against the system entity.

The system jolted, and the harsh words that were originally meant to be uttered fell silent. [You'd better keep your word.]

Shi Miao's voice was sweet: "[System, you're so kind. Mental potions must be expensive. I'll get you some when I get back.]"

The system replied coldly, "No need. I'm just worried that if you die and the mission fails, I won't be able to get back."

Oh dear, oh dear.

A stubborn and persistent person.

Shi Miao lay on the ground, her tail swaying lightly, and whispered many thanks.

"……How much?"

Seeing the young man behind the cashier suddenly stop what he was doing, the customer paused, then asked, "Is there a problem with the items?"

"without."

Jiang Yingxu gripped the barcode scanner tightly with his long fingers and answered in a hoarse voice.

He composed himself, put the items into a plastic bag, as if the pause just now was a brief illusion.

After the guest left, he sat back down on the stool, looked down at the exercise book on the table.

Jiang Yingxu had been working part-time at this convenience store because the owner was a nice person. He attracted many customers with Jiang Yingxu's flawless handsome face and, knowing that he was still in high school, allowed him to do his homework at night when no one was around.

The black ballpoint pen remained pressed between my fingers.

The kittens suddenly moved, stretching their flexible bodies and yawning.

Jiang Yingxu hurriedly looked away, staring at the long string of lead-black characters on the white paper.

Problems that I used to be able to solve with a quick glance now require me to read them five times before I can actually understand them.

"..."

After a long while, Jiang Yingxu silently began to write.

-

At 12 o'clock, Jiang Yingxu finished his part-time job.

As usual, he bought a bicycle and rode it back to his residence.

Jiang Yingxu now lives with his uncle's family in an old neighborhood that is over ten years old. Its only advantage is that it is in the school district of Ningcheng Junior High School and is not far from Ningcheng No.1 Middle School.

Inside the security room, the old man with gray hair was fast asleep.

He walked through the open iron gate, entered the unit, and climbed to the third floor.

In the early hours of the morning, the entire neighborhood was asleep, and the clicking sound of a key being inserted into the lock sounded rather jarring.

As Jiang Yingxu entered the room, he happened to hear a drowsy, muffled curse coming from the master bedroom.

He changed into slippers with a nonchalant expression.

Shi Miao couldn't wait any longer and jumped off his shoulder, landing lightly on the ground.

The old house has a neat and tidy layout, and the original decoration was a warm beige style. However, now the living room is cluttered with a lot of miscellaneous items, making it look messy.

Shi Miao twitched her pink nose and sniffed again and again.

There were people in the master bedroom; it was probably Jiang Yingxu's uncle and aunt sleeping there.

Even without getting close, you can smell the greasy, sweaty stench from the second bedroom next door. It's probably Jiang Yingxu's cousin, Jiang Tianhao, who was cowering among the thugs today.

Shi Miao disdainfully moved a little further away.

Kittens have excellent night vision.

Her gaze swept over the two tightly closed doors, the kitten's paws stomping on the floor, and she looked back at the news with some disbelief.

"Hey, is there something wrong with my nose?"

Time seemed to blur, [There were two bedrooms in total, but neither of them felt like Jiang Yingxu's presence?]

System: [Isn't there still one room?]

Shi Miao turned her head.

Then Jiang Yingxu was seen carrying his schoolbag and walking straight towards the balcony.

His fingers touched the curtain used as a screen, paused almost imperceptibly, his lips pressed into a straight line, and his finger bones turned slightly white.

But in just a moment, he turned cold and completely changed his expression.

The entire balcony came into view.

The balcony, which wasn't very spacious to begin with, had a narrow bed built on one side using long wooden planks, covered with a thin sheet, making it seem like a place where someone could sleep.

A small fan with half of its casing broken was clipped to the headboard.

At the foot of the bed, there was a pile of cardboard and other miscellaneous items, which looked menacing and cramped in the darkness.

The space is pitifully small.

It makes one wonder if one can actually stretch out their body while lying on it.

Jiang Yingxu did his best to keep things clean. The sheets and blankets, with their fresh soapy scent, were laid out neatly, and his usual clothes were folded up and placed by his pillow.

Under the wooden bed, various textbooks used since junior high school are neatly arranged.

Shi Miao: "?"

Shi Miao: "???"

Hey, you call this a bedroom?

In a daze, Jiang Yingxu had already taken a step and walked to the other side of the balcony.

He took off his school uniform jacket and threw it, along with his empty backpack, into the sink and turned on the tap.

At first, the water that gushed out was hot water from the pipes, which had been scalding due to the high temperature.

It flowed for quite a while before becoming cool.

Jiang Yingxu immersed his hands in the pool, ignoring the wounds on his hands, and picked up the soap from the counter to wash them.

The balcony wasn't fitted with a blackout curtain, so it was exposed to direct sunlight for most of the day, making it very hot.

Cool air from the air conditioners seeped out from under the doors of both bedrooms.

With the kitten's keen hearing, it could distinguish the three people's relaxed breathing.

Snoring and teeth grinding.

He slept so soundly that he was unaware of anything.

Jiang Yingxu stayed on the sweltering balcony, quietly washing the dried bloodstains off his clothes and schoolbag, and hanging them up on a clothes hanger.

The gauze on the back of my hand was completely soaked.

Jiang Yingxu lowered his eyes and tore it off, revealing a bright red wound.

The wound reopened a bit because of the forceful wringing action.

He ignored it, picked up a towel, and walked towards the restroom.

The water heater had long been turned off by the stingy couple.

Jiang Yingxu turned on the shower, letting the cool water flow down his face, running over his sharp eyebrows and eyes, and washing away the sticky sweat from his muscular body.

All I could hear was the sound of rushing water.

The soap produced a light lather, but the alkaline liquid irritated the wound on the back of my hand, causing sharp pain.

Jiang Yingxu didn't even frown, quickly washing up.

For a fleeting moment, he seemed to sense something, and turned his head slightly to listen to the intermittent conversation that was now strained by the distance between them.

[...He...is a villain?]

[After returning home... I was told I was vain and obsessed with money...]
