Chapter 53 has a kitten-like smell.
The kitten stared wide-eyed, looking utterly bewildered.
This was the first time Jiang Yingxu had ever made a request on his own initiative!
The cat king was always responsive to requests, and since he did feel a little guilty for biting Jiang Yingxu, he immediately grabbed Jiang Yingxu's wrist with his two mangosteen paws.
This time, Shi Miao learned her lesson and only used the tip of her tongue, which had few barbs.
Lick it carefully.
Jiang Yingxu had just finished peeling shrimp, and the smell of shrimp still lingered on his fingertips.
Shi Miao licked it again and again, dazed and lured by the shrimp flavor, and sucked on Jiang Yingxu's finger in the kitten's mouth.
It smells so good... shrimp... so good... take a bite... no, this is Jiang Yingxu's hand.
Just as she was about to take a bite, she suddenly realized something.
When a kitten feels guilty, it always makes a lot of little movements.
Shi Miao pretended nothing was wrong and spat out Jiang Yingxu's finger, then licked it twice in a soothing manner.
Then he got up and paced around slowly, then stretched his body and did a cat stretch.
He sat back down, licked his nose, and made a soft meow.
The cat didn't bite! ^^
Jiang Yingxu slowly withdrew his hand. The white marks on his fingertips were indeed gone, but his skin was red from being sucked by the kitten.
He glanced at Shi Miao, who was busy but whose purpose was unclear, and smiled slightly. He said nothing, but simply turned on the tap and washed his hands.
There was still a little more than half a pot of shrimp left, which Jiang Yingxu peeled clean in one go.
Most of it was piled in Shi Miao's bowl, and a small portion was put into his own bowl.
He simply prepared a soy sauce dipping sauce and brought it to the table.
The living room clock struck eight.
Jiang Yingxu pulled out a chair and sat down. He ate a mouthful of steaming rice and looked up to see a fluffy little cat sitting on the table, burying its head in shrimp meat like a bulldozer.
Having eaten its fill, the tip of its tail twitched lightly in the air.
The night outside the window was peaceful.
Jiang Yingxu couldn't quite remember the last time he sat here and ate quietly.
Memories are pushed back.
The living room, now cluttered with miscellaneous items, was once a perfectly tastefully decorated space, featuring beige matte tiles and dark wood furniture.
On the table, a wicker basket and vase held crocheted bellflowers.
The tablecloth has a rustic style and embroidered tassels at the four corners that hang naturally.
The air was filled with the sweet aroma of bubbling pork rib and corn soup. Mother came out with a bowl of soup, while Father was still stir-frying the last vegetable dish on the stove.
Xiao Jiang volunteered, took the stack of porcelain bowls, and placed them on the table.
Then he was praised by both his parents.
Later, however, two portraits of the deceased were placed in the living room, which was then openly occupied by Jiang Pinghai's family.
The rattan basket was violently dismantled by Jiang Tianhao and scattered into a mess.
The tablecloth had a small hole burned in it by Jiang Pinghai's cigarette butt and was thrown into the trash can.
The house is now filled with a lot of messy clutter, and Jiang Yingxu's place is no longer there.
"..."
Suddenly, the kitten shuffled over with its tiny paws, pressing its pink nose against the food bowl to sniff.
She didn't say anything, but simply tilted her little face up and looked at him with bright eyes.
Jiang Yingxu snapped out of his daze, a smile flashing across his eyes. He picked up a shrimp, dipped it in the sauce, and brought it to the kitten's mouth.
Shi Miao curled her tongue and swallowed it.
The kitten was still purring as it rode its little motorcycle, and as you approached, it brought with it a unique, fluffy, and clean scent from its sun-dried fur.
In short, it smells like a kitten.
Jiang Yingxu gradually became addicted, and with a flick of his finger, gently stroked the kitten's head.
"Is it tasty?"
Shi Miao: "Delicious!"
The stray kitten let out a heartfelt sigh—
As expected, you humans really know how to eat.
Jiang Yingxu chuckled softly, got up and went to the kitchen to get a small porcelain dish, poured some sauce on it, and placed it next to Shi Miao's porcelain bowl.
He thought.
How wonderful.
The warmth of family that he had missed for many years, which he thought he would never experience again, was brought back by a kitten.
-
After finishing his meal, Jiang Yingxu washed the dishes and kitchen utensils. As he passed by the half-open master bedroom door, he glanced inside casually.
Chen Xiumei should have come back during the day when he was at school.
Last night, they fled in such a panic that they didn't even take their important money and documents with them. If she hadn't just grabbed her ID card from the shoe cabinet, the three of them wouldn't have been able to even check into a hotel.
Now, the master bedroom wardrobe is wide open, with nearly half of the clothes missing, the quilts on the bed are piled up haphazardly, and the drawers are wide open.
At first glance, I thought I had been robbed.
Jiang Yingxu closed the door behind him, intending to thoroughly clear it out later.
I'll clean the living room first today.
Shi Miao felt that she was a responsible cat king, so she naturally jumped down to help Jiang Yingxu clean.
then.
Jiang Yingxu carried the mop across the living room floor, and the kitten followed closely behind. Its two little paws rested lightly on the wet stainless steel rod, and with a burst of air, it left a series of kitten paw prints on the wet floor.
Jiang Yingxu wrung out the rag and wiped the coffee table and cabinets in the living room. The kitten propped itself up and tugged at his legs, seriously directing him to wipe the corners as well.
Jiang Yingxu moved a chair over, filled it with water, and prepared to stand on the chair to clean the top of the cabinet. The kitten, eager to try, jumped over his shoulder first, and then got covered in a thick layer of dust.
Achoo! Achoo!
Shi Miao squinted, her kitten face scrunched up, sneezing incessantly, and waddling away on all four paws.
Unable to see the road clearly, he slipped and fell into Jiang Yingxu's arms with a thud, just like a curling stone that had been knocked away.
A whole bunch of kittens came flying at me.
Jiang Yingxu straightened his back and caught her steadily without his arms wobbling.
I looked down.
The startled kitten unconsciously flicked its claws, hooking onto his shirt, sneezing repeatedly as it frantically snuggled into Jiang Yingxu's arms.
Its snow-white belly was stained with dirty dust, which then rubbed all over Jiang Yingxu.
Jiang Yingxu then used a towel to wipe her face.
Shi Miao's eyes were filled with tears. She blinked and saw her own dark little paws and bib fur, as well as the gray plum blossom marks on Jiang Yingxu's chest opposite her.
Shi Miao: "..."
Shi Miao whispered, "The cat didn't do it on purpose."
Jiang Yingxu looked down at the stained clothes and said indifferently, "They were going to be washed anyway."
He quickly finished cleaning the top of the cabinet, hung the clean rags to dry on the balcony, and prepared to take down the cardboard and trash that the couple had piled up in the living room to dispose of.
He turned his head.
Shi Miao huddled limply inside a cardboard box, her head tilted to one side, her tail tip tapping the cardboard intermittently.
The dirty kitten's paws stomped alternately on the hard cardboard as it purred.
The fur on its back, which was originally quite clean, became covered with a thin layer of dust after rolling around and rubbing against the ground.
When she met Jiang Yingxu's gaze, Shi Miao stopped snoring for a few seconds and quietly pulled her kneading paws back to her front.
She gave a sweet, obedient "meow."
That's really strange.
You tell me, how come this narrow, hard little box is so perfect for cats?
