Chapter 147 "The Bad Cat".

Chapter 147 "The Bad Cat".

Jiang Yingxu is not only slow at taking showers, but also at washing his face.

All I could hear was the rushing water splashing against the pool walls, and it washed for quite a while.

Even the system was released again, leaving a string of ellipses in Shi Miao's consciousness.

That's the downside of having the host and the task object involved.

When they get together, the system keeps getting disconnected and blocked. Despite being high-dimensional intelligent life forms, they can cause the system to freeze like a static TV screen.

It was said that those two love-struck fools should go away and go eat their words.

But is it really necessary to keep eating like this?!

The system is attempting to file a complaint.

Shi Miao pulled the blanket up, quietly savoring the moment, and said in a deep voice, "[System, you don't understand.]"

She didn't understand before either.

But she's a cat with a boyfriend now!

Now we know why humans like to kiss.

Humans say it feels like floating on air.

Mimi is almost an immortal.

System: [Unable to understand, shutting down and going into hibernation.]

Shi Miao had no one to share with, so she hummed softly, wanting to wait for Jiang Yingxu to come back so they could sleep together. But the sleepiness that had been postponed by the intense kisses swept over her again in the quiet of the early morning.

She was really sleepy.

Although she had been planning to celebrate Jiang Yingxu's birthday for a while, she had spent a lot of time contacting people and working with everyone to create a surprise behind Jiang Yingxu's back.

They then kissed each other quite passionately for a while.

Kissing is also very tiring!

I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Midway through, I vaguely sensed a warm body with a deep and clear breath approaching me. It was a familiar feeling etched in my deepest memories, so I pressed myself against it without thinking.

His strong arms tensed slightly for a moment, then relaxed.

My fingers, still slightly chilled from being rinsed in cold water, slid into the blanket, covered the back of her hand, gently caressed it, and then clasped her fingers tightly.

Their fingers were intertwined.

I don't know if it's because it's the first time I've slept with Jiang Yingxu in human form.

It's because we cuddled and kissed each other all night before bed.

Even though Shi Miao had a very good sleep quality, she had a dream.

The floor-to-ceiling windows on the high floor offer a panoramic view of half the city, and in the early morning, bright light streams in.

Someone lazily walked by in slippers, picked up a bright orange toy from the black leather sofa, and pressed it between their fingertips.

The toy immediately emitted a chirping sound, exceptionally clear and resonant, echoing throughout the spacious living room.

Shi Miao poked her head out of the cat bed, aimed it at the person, and let out a long meow.

The person sat down on the sofa, waved the toy in their hand, and said in a slightly low voice, "Come here."

Shi Miao toddled over there on her little cat legs.

He peered over his draped suit trousers.

As I leaned closer to pick up the toy, I could see those distinct, pale fingers. Since I no longer needed to do homework or work, the rough calluses had softened a bit, but the scars from the past still remained between my fingers.

Like a minor flaw in white jade.

Shi Miao leaned forward, wanting to rub her little head against his fingers, but was gently pushed away with a tap on her forehead.

"No."

The man let out a short, sharp laugh, his voice cold yet surprisingly gentle.

"I have to go out today, so I can't get your fur on me."

The cat, fuming after being pushed away, tilted its head and bit his fingertip between its tiny teeth, grimacing angrily.

But the force was controlled just right, so it didn't hurt, yet it clearly showed Mimi's dissatisfaction.

The man let her bite him for a while before pulling his hand away.

There was a tiny indentation on my fingertip, covered in cat saliva.

So he bent his finger and flicked the kitten's pointed ears very lightly, "Bad cat."

The man played with her toys for a while, then received a call from his assistant and got up to leave.

Shi Miao followed closely behind him, seeing him off at the door. She stood at the door for a while, holding a small toy in her mouth, before drooping her tail and returning to her cat bed.

I woke up and slept, then got up in the middle of the night to eat a couple of bites of cat food. Another boring day.

When I woke up again, I was startled awake by the beeping sound of the smart lock.

The door opened, and a bit of mixed scents wafted in with the wind.

The man's voice was deep and husky as he nodded and thanked his assistant who had driven him home, saying, "Thank you for working overtime. Be careful on your way home."

"Okay, Mr. Jiang, please get some rest." The assistant said respectfully, watched the man enter the room, and then turned to walk towards the elevator.

The door slammed shut.

Shi Miao raised her tail and trotted over, but just as she was about to get close, she suddenly braked.

The kitten car cautiously stopped in front of the dark-skinned suit pants, tilted its head back, and twitched its pink nose, sniffing out a bitter and spicy smell from the other party.

The cat knows.

That was alcohol, a very bad thing.

"You have such a keen sense of smell, you even noticed I'd only had a few drinks."

His voice, tinged with the effects of alcohol, was hoarse and languid.

The man changed into battle-damaged slippers with several scratches from the cat, tossed his suit jacket into the entryway, and casually tugged at the tight collar of his shirt with his long fingers.

Without lingering, he walked straight ahead, and as he got closer, he bent down and scooped up the kitten, tossed it around on his left arm, and murmured, "Has it gotten heavier again?"

Shi Miao's ears twitched.

Heavy = fewer snacks = she's not getting enough to eat = humans are going to abuse this poor little cat!

She immediately slapped his neck, where his shirt was open and revealing his pale skin, with a cat-like paw, and whimpered in dissatisfaction.

"Okay, it's not repeated."

The man smiled and, with one arm around her, walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water.

Ice cubes floated in the clear liquid, making a very slight clinking sound.

The man lowered his eyes and stared quietly for a while, then gently wiped the condensation off the glass with his fingertip and gave a faint smile.

I turned to look at the cat that was sitting obediently in my arms.

Someone wished me a happy birthday today.

But he hasn't celebrated his birthday in almost twenty years.

So much so that when he heard the man raising his wine glass to offer his congratulations, he was stunned for a few seconds before he reacted.

I didn't pay attention; I just found it a little funny.

It's ironic and funny to see the housekeeper prepare two birthday gifts every year.

He leaned against the kitchen island, his Adam's apple bobbing, and slowly swallowed a mouthful of ice-cold water.

It's probably too cold.

He couldn't help but raise his hand and stroke the kitten's soft fur.

The warmth of the furry creatures effectively dispelled the coldness of my fingertips.

However, Shi Miao was a little disgusted by the mixed smell of alcohol and faint smoke on him, which overpowered his own clean and refreshing scent, causing Mao Xiuxiu to sneeze twice.

So with a kick, he stepped on his arm and jumped, landing with a thud from his arms onto the island platform.

"..."

The man grunted softly, moved his right arm which had been bumped by the fat cat, and said helplessly, "My dear, be gentle, or I won't be able to hug you anymore."

The kitten meowed sweetly.

I guess he's talking back again.

He shook his head and smiled, then picked up the glass with his long fingers and drank the ice water in one gulp.

When putting down the cup, there was a barely perceptible pause in the movement.

He looked out the huge floor-to-ceiling window in the living room, feeling the faint stinging sensation left by the old wounds between his bones.

Very accurate weather forecast.

Then, he sighed softly and calmly.

"Tomorrow will be a rainy day."
