Chapter 56 Make do with this seat, little genius.

Chapter 56 Make do with this seat, little genius.

On the morning of the first day of National Day, most of the city was still asleep.

The red flags hanging on the street fluttered fiercely in the wind.

At the entrance of Ningcheng No.1 Middle School, a bus was parked quietly. As the scheduled meeting time approached, cars gradually brought in students from the competition class.

After all, they would be away for a week, and the parents who came to see them off all looked concerned and worried. While seeing their sons and daughters off on the bus, they kept nagging, "Don't eat cold food, and if you feel cold, hot, or uncomfortable, tell the teacher immediately. Call home if you don't have enough money."

The student being talked about blushed slightly and gave a perfunctory reply.

"I understand, no need to say anything more."

"I'm all grown up now, I can take care of myself, you should go back now."

Once on the bus, when faced with the teasing looks from classmates, I had to pretend not to care and complain, "They just keep repeating the same few sentences; I'm so tired of hearing them."

His companion laughed and said, "That means they care about you."

The boy looked a little impatient. "Too long-winded."

After all, it's a rebellious age where people value their pride and dignity above all else.

If you are too obedient and accepting of your parents' concern, you might become the laughingstock of your peers.

"..."

In the last row of the bus, Jiang Yingxu turned his gaze away from the eager-looking middle-aged man and woman outside the window. Listening to the boy's carefree and disdainful words, he calmly lowered his eyes.

What others avoid like the plague is something he will never have again in his life.

Jiang Yingxu glanced at the time.

6:20.

Reid stood by the car door, holding a sign-in sheet, and was talking to the other parents with a serious expression.

The train will depart in ten minutes.

People who had scouted the location soon boarded the bus in a hurry.

As usual, Yan Zhaozhou was brought by the driver, his hands empty, and he leisurely boarded the bus.

Someone he knew asked him, "Brother Zhou, why didn't you bring a bag?"

Yan Zhaozhou lazily raised his eyes and said casually, "No need, I have a house in Jiangcheng, and my assistant will prepare what I need."

Everyone was momentarily stunned by the extravagance of the young master from the wealthy family.

Yan Zhaozhou glanced around the car. He had always taken one-on-one master classes and didn't know many people in the competition class. Seeing that the front seats were all occupied, he simply lifted his leg and moved to the back.

There are people, an air conditioner vent, a torn chair cover, and no curtains.

The young master, after being picky about his way through the crowd, finally spotted a spot that he liked. He took a long stride and his eyes met those of the girl sitting by the window.

The girl had a fair complexion and bright, almond-shaped eyes. She looked at him with a hint of surprise.

Oh, the one who's supposedly dating the guy who owns cats.

Yan Zhaozhou raised an eyebrow slightly and glanced to the side and behind him.

Jiang Yingxu sat there, his profile indifferent, as if he were detached from the crowd.

This guy was unusually not wearing the old-fashioned school uniform from No. 1 Middle School. He was dressed in all black, but you could tell from the collar and cuffs that the clothes were definitely the kind of discounted items from street stalls. The workmanship and fabric were extremely average, and the only advantage was that they were cheap and dirt-resistant.

Yan Zhaozhou didn't know why he kept paying attention to him.

Perhaps it's rare to see such an icy blockhead who doesn't give him any face at all.

Perhaps it was his posture of standing still beside his seat that caused too much misunderstanding.

Zou Yuanyuan clutched her small bag on her lap, mustered her courage to stand up, her long eyelashes fluttering as she spoke softly.

"W-Do you want to sit? Then I'll go out..."

Yan Zhaozhou's eyelids twitched. Instead of giving way, he blocked the position even more firmly.

He curled his lips into a roguish smile and said lazily, "What, can't you sit with me?"

Zou Yuanyuan really couldn't handle this kind of flamboyant boy. She opened her mouth but couldn't say anything for a moment.

Yan Zhaozhou, taking advantage of the situation, squeezed into the seat and sat down, his long legs stretching out and pressing against the seat in front of him.

With a raised eyebrow, he exuded a carefree and roguish charm.

"Then I'll sit here anyway."

Zou Yuanyuan: "..."

Her ears turned red, and she wanted to go out.

Yan Zhaozhou propped himself up on his legs to prevent her from moving, and deliberately teased her, "How about you climb over my legs?"

Seeing that Zou Yuanyuan's eyes were brimming with tears and her cheeks were flushed, it was as if she was angry.

Yan Zhaozhou slightly restrained himself, crossed his arms, and said lazily, "There are only boys in front, and there's no room left."

He tilted his head slightly, and when he smiled, his peach blossom eyes gave the illusion of being exceptionally affectionate.

Thinking about Zou Yuanyuan's recent quizzes where she consistently ranked first.

Yan Zhaozhou drawled, "Please, have a seat, little prodigy~"

Zou Yuanyuan subconsciously looked ahead, but unfortunately the high back of the bus seat blocked most of her view, and she couldn't see any empty seats at all. Occasionally, she could see boys joking and playing around with their companions through the gaps.

The only two girls, Mao Yuhu from the Physics Competition and Hao Zhen from the Mathematics Competition, were classmates in the same year of high school and had already been sitting together.

While she frowned and hesitated, Yan Zhaozhou let out a laugh.

"There are no seats left, little genius, please sit with me."

"I promise I won't bother you, okay?"

Zou Yuanyuan squeezed her backpack.

She was a well-behaved girl since childhood and was afraid of getting into conflicts with others.

Seeing that Yan Zhaozhou had given his assurance, she pursed her rosy lips slightly and asked softly, "Really?"

Yan Zhaozhou raised his hand to guarantee: "100% true."

Zou Yuanyuan sat down with some skepticism.

She deliberately turned her head to look out the window, but out of the corner of her eye she saw Yan Zhaozhou retract his deliberately spread legs and lean to the side of the aisle, giving her enough space.

The air conditioning on the bus was on full blast, and the cold air blew down, brushing against her arms outside her short-sleeved shirt.

Zou Yuanyuan shrank her arms, somewhat regretting not listening to her mother and bringing a jacket up.

The next second, Yan Zhaozhou raised his hand, his fingertips deftly brushing the air vent, tilting it towards the aisle.

He didn't say anything, just casually hung the headphones around his neck on his head, leaned back in his chair, and lazily closed his eyes.

Zou Yuanyuan glanced at him secretly and unconsciously relaxed her body.

like.

It's not that bad.

She looked down and pulled her earphones out of her bag, then suddenly heard a few soft, puzzled exclamations from ahead. She looked up and saw them.

"Are these from our competition class?"

"I've never seen her before, she can't be it, she's so beautiful."

"I know! That transfer student in Class 1! Everyone says she's incredibly beautiful..."

The boys in front were whispering amongst themselves, getting restless.

Zou Yuanyuan stared wide-eyed at the girl who walked straight past her and back.

Her face was fair and delicate, her eyes were round and bright, clear and pure, and her soft red lips curved into a smile that was especially sweet.

"Miaomiao?" she asked, bewildered. "Why are you here?"

Shi Miao's eyes were curved in a smile. The little cat couldn't learn any subtlety or gentleness at all. When she was happy, she would show it off triumphantly, even the end of her voice was sweet and charming.

"I'm actually going to Jiangcheng anyway, I'd like to come with you guys~"
