Chapter 103

In the next few days, 놖 and Xu Tong 늁 worked together. 놖 was responsible for delivering three meals a day to her and purchasing daily necessities; while she carefully tutored 놖 in English.

During this time, we had a tacit understanding and lived together, each getting what they needed.

In between studies, we would chat for a while. After a while, 놖 gradually discovered that although she looked strong on the outside, she was actually very soft on the inside. It looks like a hedgehog curled up in a hard shell.

One evening, 놖 picked up the lunch box carefully prepared by his mother and prepared to go to Xu Tong's house as usual.

Just as he was about to leave the house, his father, who had been sitting on the sofa watching TV silently, suddenly put down the remote control, frowned, and spoke with concern and confusion that was difficult to conceal: "Hongjun, who are you going out with food every day recently?"

As 놖 put on his shoes, he nonchalantly responded, "Dad, it's the teacher who teaches 놖 English. She recently injured her legs and feet and has difficulty moving around, so 놖 brought her some food."

The father's eyes suddenly became sharp, and he immediately asked a question: "Male teacher or female teacher?"

"Female teacher." 놖 answered almost without thinking.

Hearing this answer, his father's face suddenly darkened, and his eyes showed obvious worry: "You'd better be careful. Recently, the family has finally gotten some peace, so don't make any more trouble. If you mess around again, your mother and I will take Xixi back to live in the countryside."

This groundless accusation from his father made him feel unhappy. 놖 turned around and looked directly into her father's eyes, with a hint of dissatisfaction in her tone: "Dad, don't let your imagination run wild. She is the daughter of Qingwan's aunt, and Xixi has to call her aunt!"

At this moment, Xixi, who was playing with toys nearby, heard their conversation and ran to them, her eyes sparkling with curiosity, and she shouted in a baby voice: "You want to see your aunt, you want to see your aunt!"

He stood frozen in place, not knowing whether to leave or stay. Xixi hugged 놖's thighs tightly, her little face flushed red, and her crying became louder and louder. No matter how much her grandmother tried to persuade her earnestly, her little hands were still like pliers, holding tightly, with no intention of letting go.

The mother sighed helplessly and walked up to persuade her: "Why don't you take her out to play? They are all relatives, and her aunt will definitely not agree."

놖 frowned, looking helpless: "Mom, Xixi is getting more and more willful. 놖 is going to take English lessons. How can I concentrate on studying with her?"

The father had been leaning on the sofa without saying a word, but when he heard this, he sat up with a stern look in his eyes and raised his voice by eight octaves: "Do you know the importance of studying now? What were you doing before! If you had been willing to work hard in high school, why would you have to work so hard now? You still think Xixi is willful. If you think that your mother and I are not raising her well, then fine, you can raise her yourself in the future!"

My father's words were like a sharp dagger, piercing straight into my heart. Humiliation, anger and helplessness instantly surged into his heart. His eyes became hot and without saying a word, he bent down to pick up Xixi, slammed the door and left.

As soon as she entered the house, Xixi noticed the change in the atmosphere and stopped crying instantly. She held his neck tightly with one arm and gently stroked his cheek with the other hand, wiping away the tears from the corners of his eyes. She said in a childish but serious voice, "Daddy is Ultraman, Ultraman, don't cry!"

The child's soft comfort is like a ray of warm sunshine that dispels the haze in my heart. 놖 couldn't help but kiss her rosy little face. Although he was very conflicted, he finally walked towards Building No. 8 where Xu Tong was.

When he reached the door, he pressed the doorbell. Not long after, the door creaked open and Xu Tong appeared in front of him. Her eyes first fell on the lunch box in 놖's hand, and then she saw Xixi in 놖's arms, and a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes.

놖 gently patted Xixi's back and guided her, "Xixi, call me auntie."

Xixi blinked her big watery eyes, looked Xu Tong up and down, then smiled brightly and shouted crisply: "Auntie, you are so beautiful!"

This sudden compliment made Xu Tong stunned for a moment, but she quickly came to her senses and a gentle smile appeared on her face: "Hello, baby, come in!" As she said that, she took the lunch box from his hand and stepped aside to let them into the house.

놖 asked with concern: "How do you feel today? Are you feeling better?"

Xu Tong nodded slightly, and said cheerfully: "Much better, I have no problem walking now. I was thinking of telling you that you don't need to bring food for you anymore, you can do it yourself."

"We still can't take it lightly. It's always a good idea to rest for a while." 놖 warned.

Xu Tong did not respond to what Wang said. After putting down the lunch box, she opened her arms and naturally took Xixi from Wang's arms. Xixi was very well-behaved. She nestled in her arms, looking at this strange and beautiful aunt with curious eyes.

Xu Tong's eyes were full of tenderness. She kissed Xixi's pink cheek affectionately and asked softly, "Little cutie, what's your name?"

Xixi tilted her head and uttered the word "Qiqi" in a baby voice. A hint of curiosity flashed in Xu Tong's eyes, and he turned his gaze to 놖. 놖 hurriedly explained with a smile: "Her pronunciation is not quite correct yet. Her nickname is Xixi and her full name is Guan Ningxi."

Seeing Xu Tong holding Xixi, 놖 was worried that the injury on her foot had not healed completely and she would get tired if she held her for too long, so she reached out to pick up Xixi. Xu Tong gently pushed away her hand, took light steps, and carried Xixi steadily to the soft sofa. She asked in a gentle voice: "Xixi, do you want to eat anything? Auntie will go get it for you."

Xixi shook her head seriously like a little adult and said crisply, "Aunt, I don't want to eat. My mother often buys me a lot of delicious food."

After hearing these words, Xu Tong was stunned, as if struck by an electric current, and she looked at him doubtfully.

놖 knew that the "mom" Xixi was referring to was Lin Xun, and hurriedly explained: "Xixi was talking about Ms. Lin. Ms. Lin is her godmother, so the child always calls her mom."

Xu Tong suddenly realized, a hint of teasing flashed in her eyes, and a smile appeared on the corner of her lips: "It seems that this child has never lacked maternal love. With your ability, you have found many 'mothers' for her."

Of course, she heard the sarcasm in Xu Tong's words. Just as she was about to refute, Xixi's clear and childish voice rang out first: "Aunt, why don't you be my mother too?"

Children speak without restraint. Xixi's words were like a small stone thrown into the tranquil lake, instantly breaking the originally delicate atmosphere. Xu Tong's cheeks suddenly turned red, spreading from her ears to her neck, just like the sunset in the sky.

놖 was anxious and embarrassed, so she quickly put on a stern face and taught Xixi seriously: "You can't just call me mom casually. Auntie is Auntie, you can't call her that casually."

Hearing this, Xu Tong stared at him closely, her face darkened, and she said stubbornly, "Why can't my aunt be my mother? Besides, we are related."

After she finished speaking, she bent down, a gentle smile bloomed on her face again, and she looked at Xixi lovingly: "Xixi, you can call me whatever you want, call me auntie or mom, it doesn't matter."

Xixi stretched out her chubby little hand, gently stroked her cheek, and called out crisply, "Aunt Mom."

This soft call made Xu Tong completely "surrender". She seemed to be surrounded by the warm spring sun. She kissed Xixi's little hand in ecstasy, her voice becoming softer and softer: "How come Xixi is so well behaved?"
