Chapter 129 Contest

It was almost evening when we returned to the Zhuang Mansion. Guard Li and I went to the yard to look for Song Heng but found that Song Heng was not there.

I asked a maid who was passing by, and the maid thought for a while and said that Young Master Wang had gone out with his entourage not long ago, and said that there was no need to prepare dinner for them.

I was a little confused when I saw Guard Li jump up and down: "Your Majesty actually left me alone! I want to go find him!"

Fortunately, I had just asked the maid to leave, otherwise, if the word "Your Majesty" fell into the ears of others, who knows what kind of trouble would have arisen.

I quickly called out to Guard Li: "Hey hey hey! I'll go with you!"

Although I didn't know the reason, I couldn't help but want to follow.

Guard Li glanced at me and didn't refuse, so we took the carriage and left the manor directly. We told the maid that we would be out for a while and not to keep us for dinner for the time being.

Guard Li whipped his horse and I didn't bother getting in the carriage, so I just sat on the outside with him. "What's going on? Where are you going?"

"His Majesty didn't seem to say he wanted to hide it from you..." I only heard him mutter, and then he told me the whole thing like pouring beans.

It was probably that King Shen'an invited Song Heng to compete with him to settle some previous matters.

I inexplicably remembered Song Heng's words, "It's more than enough to protect you," and quickly turned around and asked, "Song Heng's martial arts skills are not bad, right? You don't have to worry so much."

Guard Li glanced at me and said, "Your martial arts skills are not bad at all. Back then, Your Majesty went to the battlefield and took the heads of bandits. It was so majestic. Think about that time..."

Seeing that Guard Li was about to lose control of his praise for Song Heng, I immediately interrupted him and asked, "Then why do you look so worried?"

"Because that idiotic Prince Shen'an insisted that Your Majesty compete with him on the boat!" Guard Li's face was filled with displeasure when he mentioned "Prince Shen'an".

"Ah? On the bed?!" I was riding at full speed, the wind was whistling, and I couldn't hear clearly because of the bustling voices on the street.

"No! No! A boat, a boat!" he shouted immediately. "The same boat you and His Majesty rode on that night!"

"Oh," I touched my nose. "What's wrong with the boat? Can't he swim?"

"Your Majesty can swim, but the night you took the boat, I heard Eunuch Ah Fu say that Your Majesty is very afraid of boats and hasn't been on one in years!" Guard Li hurriedly said, "So that night, Eunuch Ah Fu dragged me out from the dark and watched you directly from the shore!"

"Judging from Eunuch Ahfu's expression, it must be very dangerous for Your Majesty to take a boat!" Guard Li said as he steered his horse, "Quickly check the boats on the river. Your Majesty might be on one of them!"

I suddenly recalled how tired Song Heng looked on the boat that night. No wonder he didn't get out of the boat and onto the deck until a long time later.

I thought he was just tired. It was really hard to see anything clearly in the dark.

Although he didn't know how much of an impact Song Heng's boat ride would have on him, he became very anxious at this moment. Looking at the river that was bending beside the road, he saw a group of people gathered beside a section of the river, and the nearby bridge was also full of people, one of whom was Eunuch Ah Fu!

"There, there!" I hurriedly called out to Guard Li who was still searching. Guard Li immediately pulled the reins to stop the carriage aside, and then hurried to the stone bridge with me.

"Eunuch Afu! What's going on?" I was small, so I squeezed into the crowd on the bridge before Guard Li and stood next to Afu.

When Grandpa Ah Fu saw me, he was startled. He immediately pulled me to the side so that I could stand more comfortably. “Mu, Miss Mu, didn’t you go to the mountain?”

"Something unexpected happened and I came back early," I replied quickly. "What's going on now?"

A small wooden boat was floating on the river under the bridge, and standing on the deck was Song Heng, who had been with me day and night during this period. He was wearing a dark robe with a red belt around his thin waist, and his black cloud boots with silver thread were stepping on the deck, but his steps did look a little shaky.

Opposite him stood a tall and strong man with short hair, with dark stubble on the sides of his lips, and a kind of fierce and savage strength of a northerner.

Just looking at their appearance, it’s hard to imagine that they are brothers.

"Young Master Wang is competing with his friends." Eunuch Afu replied in a low voice.

"I saw that!" I responded. "How can the fight end? Why are they fighting? And is he really unable to take the boat?"

I asked anxiously, then calmly replied, "How can we end this? He doesn't look well."

It’s more than just not good!

As he got closer, he could see that Song Heng's face was pale. Every time Prince Shen'an lunged forward, Song Heng simply dodged. When he saw the water under the boat, he seemed startled and quickly averted his gaze before dealing with the beast-like person before him.

At this moment, Song Heng was like a divine beast that was full of brilliance but was shackled.

The place where he was imprisoned was this small wooden boat.

"It would all end if one person fell into the water," said Eunuch Ah Fu. "That person just wanted to see Young Master Wang embarrassed."

"Hahahaha!" Someone on the side suddenly laughed: "You are also smart people. Our king and our young master are doing this!"

I frowned and saw a few burly men standing on the stone bridge like us. They seemed to be the men of King Shen'an.

"I don't think so," I sneered, "maybe that strong man fell into the water first!"

"You!" Someone glared at me. Eunuch Ahfu and Guard Li quickly stepped forward to block me. Another person on the other side said, "That little girl is just being quick-witted. Don't pay any attention to her. Look at our young master. He's about to win."

I really don't understand why someone as sober and calm as Song Heng would be invited here, with so many uninformed onlookers around.
