Chapter 228 Is this world the end of the world?

(A transitional world, the next world, mythology. Also, a question: should we stay in this world a little longer?)

"The sea again!" Wang Han, who had suddenly appeared in the sky, looked down at the azure ocean and couldn't help but complain. He had just left the world of One Piece, and the first thing he saw in this new world was the sea again. However, Wang Han was certain that this world was no longer One Piece.

"Let's find land first." Wang Han sighed and activated the radar to perform a quick scan of the planet.

The next moment, a radar scan image exactly like the planetary map in Wang Han's memory appeared in his mind.

"This is... Earth?" Looking at the image scanned by the radar in his mind, Wang Han couldn't help but sigh. It seemed that he was very lucky this time. Not only did he not destroy his physical body after passing through the world, but he also arrived on Earth. He just didn't know if it was the Earth where he grew up.

He was currently located on the sea to the north of the Asian continent. After checking his direction and comparing it with the radar map, Wang Han flew rapidly towards the Chinese mainland like a supersonic fighter jet.

"What's going on?" Wang Han, who was passing by Guizi Island, frowned as he looked at the land below, slowed down, and lowered his altitude.

"What on earth happened here? How could it be like this?" Everywhere you looked was charred black from the fire. Forests and houses had disappeared, or rather, burned to ashes. There were huge cracks and gullies on the ground.

"Could this world be the end of the world?" Wang Han frowned and flew further away. Along the way, Wang Han saw cities submerged by seawater, forests and villages burned to the ground, collapsed mountains and barren land. The higher he flew, the more Wang Han's brows furrowed. Everything here seemed to have been destroyed.

"Was this huge crater caused by a nuclear explosion or an impact from a celestial body?" In Tokyo, Wang Han looked at the massive crater, which was five kilometers in diameter, and wondered what had happened. The ground around the crater was covered with huge cracks filled with seawater, and for dozens of kilometers around, there were only ruins of cities and ports destroyed by the shockwave. There wasn't a single building that was still intact.

"Let's go take a look elsewhere." Wang Han thought to himself, and flew off to other places. Along the way, he saw mostly broken mountains and traces of fire.

"This..." When Wang Han arrived at what appeared to be a port in Japan, he saw ruins and huge cracks that looked almost identical to those in Tokyo. "Did Earth experience a nuclear war or get hit by a meteor shower?"

"There seems to be something there. Is it a person? Could it be a survivor?" Just then, Wang Han noticed that there seemed to be a person standing at the edge of the giant pit, and Wang Han immediately flew over.

"Why is there a statue of me here?" Reaching the edge of the giant pit, Wang Han looked at the ten-meter-tall statue of the person he had discovered—or rather, the statue of a person—with a puzzled expression. Moreover, this statue was not of himself in black armor, but rather dressed in strange clothes. The entire statue was almost covered in red paint, as if it were drenched in blood. Although it looked exactly like himself, it had a blue face and fangs, holding a ghost-headed broadsword in its left hand and a huge steel fork in its right, looking like a demon from hell.

"What exactly is going on? Let's go to China and take a look." Wang Han took to the air again and flew quickly towards China. Although he had some doubts, the sights he saw along the way made him a little worried.

Half an hour later, Wang Han saw land again and breathed a slight sigh of relief. He could see lush greenery and some busy ships, indicating that the situation on Guizi Island hadn't happened here, and the situation hadn't reached its worst point. Not all civilizations on Earth had been destroyed, and China might not have been destroyed either. However, Wang Han didn't see any tall buildings in the port, suggesting that development was somewhat lagging behind. But judging from the ships, it was certain that they had entered the industrial age.

Wang Han did not land in this port city, but continued flying towards China, because this was not China, but Korea.

"Buzzing..." Not long after Wang Han flew over the port, he heard the noise of airplane propellers. Above his head, in the clouds, formations of fighter jets emblazoned with the American flag flew forward. There were fighters and bombers, and all of them were propeller-driven aircraft. Now Wang Han was truly bewildered. The situation was complicated. This era seemed to be about resistance against the Americans, but what exactly was the situation in Japan? And what was the meaning of that statue that resembled him?

"Follow them first." Wang Han quickened his pace again and disappeared into the clouds.

"Da da da..."

"Boom boom boom..."

Along the green banks of the Yalu River, the surrounding trees had been blown up. Gunfire and artillery explosions rang out incessantly on the dug positions. The bodies of dead soldiers lay scattered across the ground, while wounded soldiers groaned in pain. On the opposite bank, dozens of meters across the river, well-equipped American soldiers, wearing steel helmets, were also firing relentlessly, desperately suppressing enemy activity on the other side to cover the engineers building a pontoon bridge and to facilitate the crossing of the vanguard. This was the easiest place to build a pontoon bridge in this section of the Yalu River, and the enemy opposite them was the Chinese People's Volunteer Army.

"The American planes are coming again!" On the battlefield, a Chinese soldier wearing a thick cotton-padded uniform and a cotton hat shouted loudly to his comrades as he saw planes flying in the distance. He was just reminding his comrades that in such a crucial battle, they absolutely could not abandon the fight to avoid the planes in the sky.

"Machine gunners, defend against the planes in the sky!" The regimental commander in charge of the defense shouted the order on the position. The anti-aircraft guns had been destroyed, and now they could only rely on ordinary machine guns.

In the sky, American fighter jets began to dive, and bombers also began to descend, with their bomb bays opening.

"It's the Chinese People's Volunteer Army. This era truly is about resisting the US and aiding Korea." Wang Han looked at the battle below, took out a Barrett rifle, and aimed at the leading fighter jet. As for his own doubts, he decided to help the Volunteer Army defeat the enemy first.

"Bang..." A gunshot rang out from the clouds, and a bullet shot out of the Barrett.

"Multiply, accelerate, auto-aim." The fired bullet rapidly enlarged in the air, becoming as large as a water tank, and focused on the leading high-speed diving fighter like a beam of light.

"Boom..." The fighter jet, hit by the giant bullet, was blasted in two and disintegrated in mid-air.
