Chapter 289 Parasitic Soul

On the outskirts of the Roman Empire, in a sparsely populated village, in a dimly lit house, a seven or eight-year-old girl, holding a bloodstained knife, approached a boy who had fallen to the ground not far away, trembling with fear. Behind the girl were her father, mother, and younger brother, but sadly, they were all now lying in pools of blood.

The little girl walked up to the trembling little boy and raised the sharp knife in her hand.

"Sister, sister," the little boy cried in fear, calling out to the little girl repeatedly. After nightfall, his sister became a completely different person, possessing immense strength. He watched as his parents and brother died at her hands.

Despite the little boy's cries and pleas, the girl's eyes remained unmoved as she viciously stabbed the terrified boy lying on the ground with the sharp knife in her hand.

"Buzz..." A flash of electricity suddenly appeared in the dimly lit room. Wang Han, who had suddenly appeared inside, swung his Miao sword, which was covered in electric snakes, and swiftly slashed at the girl. There was no mercy in his hands, because the little girl had already been controlled by the outsider.

"Whoosh..." Wang Han's speed was extremely fast. In the blink of an eye, the Miao sword crackling with lightning was already at the girl's waist. Just as the girl was about to be cut in half at the waist, Wang Han stopped. The Miao sword did not strike the girl but stopped in front of him, and the girl fell to the ground.

"They ran away." Wang Han frowned and muttered, ignoring the two children, his body sinking into the ground as quickly as if it were being submerged in water. The little boy was left staring in disbelief at what he had just witnessed, before bursting into loud sobs.

Wang Han had just used his wall-penetrating ability to traverse space and arrive beside the little girl possessed by the outsider when the faint, terrifying aura emanating from him was immediately detected by the outsider hidden within the girl's body. In an instant, the outsider swiftly fled underground from the girl's head, its speed catching Wang Han off guard. Wang Han could only see a swift black shadow moving within the little girl's body. This was why Wang Han had tried to cut the little girl in half at the waist; unfortunately, without his speed-enhancing ability, Wang Han was still too slow, allowing the black shadow to successfully escape underground. The speed and stealth capabilities of this black shadow were a headache even for the planet's will; otherwise, they wouldn't have sent Wang Han from the future to the present to eliminate them.

"You can't escape." Underground, Wang Han, using earth-based abilities and a speed boost, quickly chased after the fleeing shadowy figure, guided by his radar. Seemingly sensing Wang Han's pursuit and ability to detect him, the shadowy figure constantly changed its position underground.

“Useless. Tenfold speed increase.” Wang Han said, his speed as he moved through the soil suddenly increased several times, catching up with the dark figure in seconds. His Miao sword, crackling with powerful lightning, stabbed towards the figure's back. Wang Han finally saw the dark figure's true form: a fist-sized, humanoid gray energy entity with tentacles.

'An unnaturally born entity, a soul-type energy body. Name: Parasitic Soul. Weakness: Fears lightning, fire, and other high-temperature attacks. Can also be destroyed by extremely low temperatures and attacks exceeding its capacity. Possesses extremely strong perception and movement speed, has rudimentary spatial abilities, grows by absorbing energy, and its growth direction is unpredictable.' In Wang Han's eyes, the identification system automatically identified the gray energy body in front of him after he saw the target.

However, just as Wang Han's weapon was about to pierce his opponent, the opponent's figure vanished instantly.

"Space jump. Did you think you could escape like that?" Sensing the lingering spatial fluctuations around him, Wang Han gripped his knife tightly. Based on the radar's location, he activated the wall-penetrating ability, and his figure instantly vanished into the ground.

In a Roman city not far from the small village, a fist-sized gray energy entity suddenly appeared next to another energy entity, waving its tentacles in a panic and letting out a terrified scream.

"Sizzle..." "Bang..." Before his scream could even escape, the lightning-infused Miao Blade appeared instantly, cleaving him and the gray energy body beside him in two without giving them time to react. This time, Wang Han, with his tenfold acceleration, gave them no chance to escape. The two energy bodies that were cleaved apart instantly exploded into gray smoke and dissipated.

However, before Wang Han could even feel happy, many people in the city collapsed to the ground, powerless, as they sensed his sudden terrifying aura and witnessed the deaths of their companions. Streams of gray energy shot from their bodies and into the ground.

“…” Wang Han.

Looking at the city filled with corpses and the wounded, Wang Han angrily slammed his Miao sword into the ground after scanning the area with his radar.

Wang Han deliberately chose that village of outsiders because he felt they were even more troublesome than the planetary will had described. To avoid alerting them, he intentionally chose a relatively isolated area; after all, there were too many outsiders, and it was better to test the waters first. However, in the heat of the chase, to avoid misjudging the situation, the radar only located one outsider. Unexpectedly, the target teleported back into their group. Now… Wang Han's sudden appearance was like a bomb dropped into a fishpond, wiping out all the fish. All the outsiders in the entire city had fled.

Wang Han underestimated these outsiders. What troubled him even more was that these outsiders possessed the bodies of the planet's natives. Although their strength was not much to him, their perception and escape abilities were extremely powerful. Once a powerful being that they could not contend with approached, they would be detected almost immediately and then escape underground or through space jumps. Unless Wang Han used a wall-penetrating cheat and activated a high-speed cheat to kill them before they could react, he would not be able to easily kill these outsiders.
