Ten minutes later, Tianze led his men to the battlefield where the battle had ended. Looking at the ravaged forest and land, and seeing that the lightning and roars were no longer visible, he breathed a sigh of relief. "It seems that those guys' battle is over."
"Are those guys gods and monsters?" Wushuang asked, somewhat frightened. The terror he had just witnessed in the forest had quite frightened him.
"I don't know." Tianze shook his head. After thinking for a moment, he added, "Whatever it is, it's someone we can't afford to offend."
"Everyone come quick! There's a monster's corpse here!" A voice came from not far away.
Upon hearing this, Tianze and the others quickly arrived at the location where the corpse had been found. It was a giant wolf, three times the size of an ordinary wolf. Tianze and the others had seen this wolf before; it was one of the monsters they had spoken of, incredibly fast, with razor-sharp claws and teeth. With a single swing of its claws, it could unleash terrifying sword energy, tearing apart houses and the earth. It could even condense sword energy into spears and spew them from its mouth. It had previously attacked a village right before their eyes, tearing everyone to shreds. Then it charged at them, but before attacking them, it turned and charged into this battlefield, where a battle like that between gods and demons ensued.
"There were several knife wounds on his body, the fatal one being his heart. He was completely dead," said the person who discovered the body. "What kind of being could kill such a terrifying monster?"
"I don't know. Those two people in black armor must be extremely terrifying swordsmen or knife-wielders, or there might be other people in black armor attacking them together," Tianze said, squatting down to examine and touch the giant wolf's corpse.
After carefully examining the body for a while, Tianze frowned and said, "The body has been dead for at least three to four hours."
"That means it had been dead for more than two hours before we saw it attack the village," the woman in the flaming armor asked.
“I don’t know. This is the first time I’ve seen this kind of monster, so I can’t draw any conclusions. But if it’s a normal animal, yes.” Tianze shook his head and said, “Those who can kill it must be extremely skilled swordsmen or knife-wielders. At least I can’t beat this kind of monster. Its fur is as hard as needles, and its skin is also very tough. It’s at least no worse than ordinary armor. Ordinary swords and knife-wielders can’t hurt it at all.”
"A swordsman or a knife-wielder?" Hearing this, Wushuang scratched his head, puzzled, and asked, "Then what about the lightning and flames earlier?" He couldn't understand such a complicated matter, but he simply voiced his curiosity. The wolf and the two black-armored men with knives both used sword energy.
“Indeed,” said the woman in the fiery armor. “I’ve never heard of anything like this happening in the villages they’ve attacked before.”
"Everyone, check if there are any other corpses nearby," Tianze instructed. "Although we didn't see any traces of lightning and fire in the previous village, it doesn't mean these monsters can't. Perhaps the villagers were too weak, so it was useless."
Upon hearing this, everyone quickly dispersed and began searching.
............
Half an hour later, everyone stared in silence at the collected corpses. The corpses included tigers, giant eagles, and humans, but there were none of the black-armored people, not even a fragment of their armor.
"Their corpses all share common characteristics; they all appear to have been dead for three to four hours, or even longer. Furthermore, their wounds suggest they were part of a group with the monsters. They all bear wounds inflicted by the same weapons, some even fatal. On the other hand, there are the two black-armored men. Whether there were only two is still uncertain; the surrounding area is too badly damaged to determine the exact number," Tianze analyzed, looking at the collected corpses. "As for the burns and lightning strikes, we can't be certain yet, but they likely weren't caused by a third-party force. The most likely explanation is that they were attacked by people in cahoots with the two black-armored men, who jointly attacked these monsters and humans."
"Furthermore, judging from the previous commotion, their battle was extremely fierce and lasted for nearly an hour, indicating that even if the overall strength of both sides wasn't evenly matched, it wasn't too far off." Tianze continued his analysis with shock in his eyes, "However, these few were all killed with a single blow, indicating that an even more terrifying being appeared at the end of the battle. The remaining five were almost powerless to fight back and were killed by that newly appeared person, all cut in two with a single stroke. There wasn't even a trace of fear in their eyes; instead, there was joy. Judging from the joy in their eyes, it can be inferred that these monsters and humans won the battle in the end. After their victory, another expert must have arrived. When that person appeared and killed them, they didn't even notice, or rather, they didn't have time to notice the new enemy before they were all killed. Judging from the wounds, they were from the same weapon as the others, all with very smooth cuts and charred black marks. The initial guess is that one of the two black-armored men's companions arrived and quickly killed the remaining five. This also proves that these people and monsters are in cahoots. The person who later killed them was in cahoots with the black-armored men."
"They didn't even have time to react?" Upon hearing this, everyone was deeply shocked. Just how powerful must they be to kill the five of them without giving these monsters and powerful beings any time to react? They didn't doubt Bai Ze's analysis because they couldn't find any way to refute it.
“Could it be not just one, but five or more, who then ambushed and killed them?” one man questioned, adding that it would be terrifying if it was just one person.
