Inside the spatial rift, Wang Han stared speechlessly at the now-closed spatial rift, his heart filled with utter disbelief.
Everything happened so suddenly, and it just so happened to be the crucial moment when I had just finished downloading the cheat program. I was excited when the sudden change made me suck into the spatial rift before I could even react.
By the time he realized what was happening and tried to rush back, the spatial rift had closed... closed. There was no exit from the spatial rift; even if he wanted to go back, he couldn't.
Fortunately, Gao Yao remained in the zombie world, and Wang Mang knew his own arrangements; they could still carry out their plans. Thinking this way, Wang Han didn't feel too resentful. A different world was fine; perhaps there would be a chance to return in the future.
With that in mind, Wang Han used the wall-mounted device.
Just as Wang Han used the wall-penetrating device and left the spatial passage, he was stunned because a spatial rift formed behind him again, sucking him back in when he was caught off guard.
"Damn it..." Wang Han cursed again, using his wall-penetrating ability once more, and left the spatial passage once more. Behind Wang Han, a spatial rift formed again, but this time Wang Han was prepared. With a flash, he activated his speed boost and sped away into the distance.
"What's going on?" Looking at the spatial rift that was following him closely and was about to suck him in, Wang Han was completely speechless.
"Boom..." Wang Han, who was running at top speed with the acceleration cheat, was focused on the spatial rift behind him and did not notice the cliff in front of him. With a huge roar, the cliff disappeared from the world. Wang Han, who was dizzy from the impact, was also slowed down by the cliff and was sucked into the spatial rift again.
But this time it didn't end there. Just as he entered the spatial rift, Wang Han was unfortunately caught in a spatial distortion storm. Already feeling dizzy and disoriented, Wang Han found himself spinning in circles within the distorted spatial passage.

In the magic academy.
Time ticked by, and under the watchful eyes of everyone below the arena, ten minutes passed, twenty minutes passed, an hour passed, but unfortunately, nothing appeared in the spatial rift.
"What's going on?" The students below the arena were puzzled. The summoning channel had already been opened, so why hadn't any summoned creatures appeared? And the summoning channel had been open for far too long.
"Could it be that the summoned beast thinks Angie is too weak and is unwilling to sign a contract, which is why it hasn't been able to summon her yet?" a student speculated.
Upon hearing this, everyone around him, dressed in robes, looked at him as if he were an idiot. But when they saw that he was a warrior in armor, they all nodded in understanding.
“The summoning spell has been successful,” a summoning student explained to him. “A summoning channel cannot be formed without a contract or if the spell fails.”
"But this is too slow. The other arenas have already finished five or six matches," the warrior complained softly.
In fact, not only this warrior, but everyone except the referee was very puzzled, even Angie, who drew the summoning magic circle, was very puzzled.
"It seems this spatial rift leads to a very far place! What will it summon?" The referee looked at the spatial rift opened by Angie, filled with doubt. The summoning was undoubtedly successful; unlike the students who thought Angie had used an ordinary summoning spell, he, as a referee and a teacher at the academy, recognized the summoning spell Angie had used. It was a hyperdimensional summoning spell—a spell with a huge cost, where the summoned creature was entirely random, a treacherous spell that almost no rational person would use.
The Hyperdimensional Summoning Technique, also known as the Otherworldly Summoning Technique, is jokingly called a "trap summoning technique." It's from another dimension, not another space; it summons beings from other worlds, not beings from this world. This is indeed impressive. However, this summoning technique has a major, and unchangeable, flaw: the target summoned is completely random. There's an extremely low chance of summoning a powerful beast, but the probability of summoning something weaker than oneself is much higher. Furthermore, it doesn't guarantee a living being; the chance of summoning an inanimate object is as high as 99%. You might summon just a rock from another world, or even a handful of dirt or a cup of water.
If that were all, it wouldn't be so bad. The most deceptive aspect is the cost of this summoning spell: life sharing. The moment the summoned creature emerges from the spatial rift, their lives are supposedly completely intertwined (this isn't actually the case). If you summon an inanimate object, you'll die instantly, with a probability exceeding 99%. Even if you're lucky enough to summon a living creature, you're more likely to protect it; otherwise, you're doomed. While some have indeed summoned incredibly powerful beings with this spell, only a handful of people have done so. The rest have been completely ruined. Even the living creatures they summon are mostly insects, snakes, birds, fish, flowers, and grass; even ordinary animals are rare.
"What's going on? Is this summoning channel being maintained for too long?"
At noon, the competition had ended, and many students had gone to eat. Even the referees were yawning with boredom. A teacher who knew about the situation specially brought over a very lavish lunch with several students as Anqi's last meal.
The summoning students, after their teacher's explanation, learned what summoning magic Angie had used. They were all filled with lingering fear and vowed never to use such a deceptive summoning magic again.
Angie was now filled with unbearable regret. She had already written her will, but this summoning spell, which relied on appearance, was clearly meant to kill her. She had only seen this summoning spell by chance in the library, and knew it was a random summoning spell with a low barrier to entry because the cost was shared life. She had only used it as a last resort, essentially gambling with her future. However, Angie hadn't realized the chance of summoning something weaker than herself would be so high, or even worse, an inanimate object. The cost was completely disproportionate to the reward, and there was a very high probability it would directly kill her. Unfortunately, it was too late to stop it. When the magic circle was completed and she opened the spatial passage, her mark had already been sent out.
