Chapter 375 The Assassin Reappears

In the Warcraft Forest

Wang Han and his group began their return journey. The students laughed and chatted loudly along the way, completely unaware that a thief had stealthily infiltrated the group, carrying a short sword and furtively searching through the students. Invisible, he confidently walked past each student, seemingly searching for his target, oblivious to the fact that Wang Han was watching his every move.

The cloaked thief was of a high rank, even higher than the previous mercenaries; he was a master thief. Furthermore, there were over a dozen powerful auras emanating from the surrounding forest, three of whom were roughly equal in strength to this master thief, and the rest were all of the higher rank.

"Buzz buzz buzz..." The soft buzzing of insects flapping their wings unconsciously rose around Wang Han. A dozen or so peanut-sized bees suddenly appeared and flew around Wang Han. No one noticed this detail except Wang Han, or those who did notice it did not pay attention. It is normal for there to be insects in the forest.

The thief searching for a target in the group had his eyes light up and slowly made his way to the back of the group.

"Is it not targeting Leon, but Angie? Or me?" Seeing the invisible thief walk right past Leon and stare at Angie as he approached her, Wang Han frowned in confusion. This thief wasn't after Leon, but after Angie.

Angie was just an ordinary girl so poor she was barely able to afford food; she wasn't worth such a powerful assassin's attention, especially with other skilled individuals lurking nearby. If it wasn't aimed at Angie, then it was aimed at him. After all, according to the contract, killing Angie meant killing him. Since a direct confrontation wasn't possible, the best way was to kill Angie, using the contract to achieve the same goal. But if it was aimed at him, why target him directly? Why not kill him first instead of Angie? They couldn't possibly know his true strength, making it unlikely they were targeting him. The most probable explanation was that they were there to kill Angie.

Finally, the thief reached Angie's side, checked her appearance, and immediately prepared to stab her heart with his short sword.

'The target is clear: it's aimed at Angie.' Wang Han's furrowed brows smoothed out, and the bees swirling around him instantly flew out, moving faster than a sniper bullet.

"Bang...puff puff puff..." The next moment, the thief's short sword was knocked out of his hand by the bees, and snowflakes flew from his limbs as he was pierced by the bees. Instantly injured, the thief was revealed from his stealth state and collapsed helplessly to the ground.

"Ah..." Angie was startled by the sudden appearance of the thief and quickly took a few steps back. Angie's scream also alerted the people hiding in the forest to the injured and fallen thief, and they also saw her.

"They're the targets. Move in, leave no one alive. Be careful of the hidden experts among them," a middle-aged man hidden in the forest immediately ordered.

"Whoosh..." Two sharp arrows, enveloped in terrifying sword energy, shot towards Angie at lightning speed.

"Crack, crack..." Just as the arrow was about to strike Angie, two yellow beams flashed, and the flying arrow was severed in two. (Bullet Bee, the same size as a regular bee, flies extremely fast, and has an extremely tough body.)

"Roar..." In the forest, a dozen or so huge magical beasts suddenly appeared and launched an attack on the students closest to them. Each of them was no smaller than a two-headed wolf, and judging from their aura, all of these magical beasts were at least level nine.

Fireballs the size of houses flew out one after another from behind the surrounding trees. Behind the fireballs, huge wind balls, carrying wild wind blades, quickly caught up and merged with the fireballs, instantly making the fireballs several times larger.

"Rumble..." Three massive earthen walls rose from the other three directions with a rumbling sound, enveloping all the students. Countless ice spikes fell from the sky, covering all the students within them.

The students could only watch in terror as the magic and monsters suddenly attacked, their hearts filled with fear. Under these circumstances, it seemed that even Wang Han would not be able to save them in time.

"Rumble..." A giant centipede emerged from the ground and quickly surrounded the students. Its massive body, over ten meters wide, and thick carapace easily blocked all the magic coming from the side. The magical beasts charging towards the students were also easily knocked away.

"Buzz buzz buzz..." A three-meter-tall rhinoceros beetle with six wings on its back appeared in the middle of the students. Its eight legs firmly supported the ground, and its three pairs of wings on its back frantically flapped towards the sky, emitting a huge buzzing sound. All the ice spikes that shot down from the sky were blown back by the strong wind.

The sudden change blocked all the attacks, and the students collapsed to the ground.

“Multi-segmented.” Wang Han stood atop the giant centipede’s head and softly called out the centipede’s name.

The centipede immediately understood, its massive body encircling the students, protecting them within. With its upright body and Wang Han on its head, it looked towards the people hiding in the forest.

"Advanced Summoning History." Despite Wang Han's power, the people in the forest did not retreat.

“Young summoner, if you retreat now, we can pretend you never existed. Otherwise, even if you are a summoner, even if you have a family and a master behind you, you cannot save your life. The empire will have no place for you,” the leading middle-aged man said to Wang Han. “You are still young. There is no need to ruin your bright future for these students.”

"From what you've said, it seems you're quite influential," Wang Han said, looking at the middle-aged man who had spoken. "Why don't you tell me what you're really worth, and let me see if it's truly not worth me giving in to?"
