The next day, Wang Han arrived at the meeting square in the west of the city on time as agreed.

In the gathering square in the west of the city, tens of thousands of mercenaries, adventurers, merchants, and servants gathered. Almost all of them were people who were leaving Dawn City. Although the number was large, it was only a drop in the ocean compared to the more than 20 million transient outsiders in Dawn City.

"Pegasus Mercenary Group." Looking at the bustling assembly square, Wang Han simply closed his eyes and used the radar to search for the Pegasus Mercenary Group's location. He then pulled the Armored Rhinoceros towards their location. The Pegasus Mercenary Group's flag was a white horse with a pair of short white wings on its back, and the words "Pegasus Mercenary Group" were written in large characters next to the flag.

"Mr. Wang Han, we're leaving in ten minutes. You've finally arrived! Everyone's been waiting for you." As soon as Wang Han arrived, the sharp-eyed Fatty Lai spotted him in the crowd and immediately ran over to say.

"I searched for a while with my mount before finally finding you," Wang Han said, looking at the crowd gathered under the Pegasus Mercenary Group's banner. There were quite a few people. Besides the hundred or so caravan servants standing around the carriages, there were nearly five hundred others. Although everyone's clothes and armor were different, over four hundred of them wore clothes embroidered with the Pegasus Mercenary Group's banner and name. These people formed a large group, while another fifty or sixty formed a smaller group, without any markings. They were all scattered adventurers, like Wang Han, who had been temporarily recruited. The mercenary group recruited these scattered adventurers partly to scout and recruit new members.

Following Lai Pang, Wang Han naturally joined the small group of fifty or sixty people. Seeing Wang Han clad in magnificent armor and leading a majestic magical beast, the group members were filled with curiosity and tentatively greeted him. Many members of the mercenary group and caravan also looked at Wang Han with curiosity.

'That bastard Lai Pang! I only sent him to recruit people because he's sharp-eyed, how could he be so clueless this time? Didn't he even check the other person's mission before recruiting them?' Not far behind Lai Pang, a middle-aged man in white armor saw Lai Pang go to recruit Wang Han and even bring Wang Han over. Clearly, Wang Han was the last person they were waiting for. His face immediately turned ashen, and he cursed inwardly. Others might not recognize Wang Han, but how could he, the King of Swordsmen, not recognize him? He was almost scared to death by Wang Han on the fifth floor of the Mercenary Guild. Who would have thought that the dual-class mage/martial arts leader Lai Pang mentioned was Wang Han? He now wished he could twist Lai Pang's head off and chop it into pieces.

Normally, anyone traveling with a god would be ecstatic, eager for anything. But look at the deadly mission Wang Han accepted! A mere E-rank mercenary group, a minor professional king, he only dared to accept C-rank missions by teaming up with several large, allied mercenary groups. Now, he's involved in an A-rank mission—even those large mercenary groups wouldn't dare! This is suicidal! Unfortunately, Wang Han is already here. He dares not speak, dares not ask, dares not show anything. The mission is already accepted, Wang Han has invited him in; it's too late to back out now, and he dares not. Otherwise, angering Wang Han will only hasten his death. The reason gods inspire both awe and fear is their immense power and terrifying slaughter. Few who offend gods escape unscathed; mountains of corpses and seas of blood are commonplace, as evidenced by the once-destroyed Blue Maple Empire.

"Captain, what do we do? That man is..." A mercenary quietly approached the middle-aged man in white armor, cold sweat dripping from his forehead, and whispered. He had seen Wang Han in the market.

"Shut up, Bot. Let's pretend we don't know anything. Don't show it and don't tell anyone." Before the mercenary could continue, the middle-aged man quickly covered his mouth and whispered.

Upon hearing this, Mercenary Bot nodded, but he was still very worried.

“He accepted the mission to clear out bandits in the Ten Thousand Mountains, so we absolutely cannot go to the Ten Thousand Mountains.” The mercenary leader thought for a moment and said, “We’ll slip away halfway and say we’re going on a mission along the way. We’ll take at least a day. We’ll run as far as we can. Since that bastard Lai brought him in, let him leave behind those he brought with him. Once we’re far away, we’ll send him a magical message saying that we all died on the mission. This is our last message.”

"But Commander, what about the mission?" Bote asked.

"At a time like this, you're still worried about the mission? Are you stupid? You're about to die." Hearing this, the mercenary leader glared at Bot and said, "We might not even reach the end of this mission, Batu. If we die, the mission will fail. Besides, no matter how many missions we do, if we die, we'll have nothing left. Abandoning the mission will deduct mercenary points and adventurer points, but at least we'll live. We can earn them back by doing missions in the future."

"Captain Pegasus." Just as Captain Pegasus and his subordinate Bot were discussing how to escape, the caravan owner came over and said, "It's almost time. Do you think we can set off now?"
