Chapter 512 Wu Song Fights This Tiger

"There really is a tiger on Jingyang Ridge." On the other side, the drunken Wu Song hesitated when he saw the official notice posted on the iron tree in front of him. At first, he didn't believe the innkeeper's words, thinking it was just a way to scare away customers and attract business, but now that he saw the official notice, he knew it was true.

"If I go back like this, won't I be laughed to death by that innkeeper's mistress?" After taking two steps back, Wu Song hesitated for a moment, but ultimately, his thick skin made him decide to go up Jingyang Ridge, wanting to get there as quickly as possible. However, after walking for a short while, because he had drunk eighteen bowls of wine earlier, the effects of the alcohol were kicking in, and Wu Song's steps began to falter. In the end, Wu Song could only choose a flat bluestone to lie down and take a nap.

"Should we wait until he sobers up?" In the distance, the tiger spirit, now back in its original form, secretly watched Wu Song from behind the dense bushes. Seeing Wu Song passed out drunk, the tiger spirit couldn't help but think to itself, "If I beat up a drunk Wu Song, I probably won't be able to test his skills much, and I won't be able to complete my mission."

And so, the tiger spirit waited in the shadows for Wu Song to sober up, while Wu Song remained fast asleep.

Time passed by, and before long, evening had arrived. Wu Song slowly woke up from the blue stone where he had been lying. Seeing that it was getting dark, he dared not delay and immediately grabbed his staff and set off.

"Roar..." Seeing that Wu Song had started to walk, the tiger spirit knew that Wu Song was almost sober. Even if he wasn't sober, it would still have to make a move, otherwise it wouldn't be able to explain itself if Wu Song left. So it roared loudly to remind Wu Song, and quickly jumped out from behind the bushes where it was hiding, rushing straight towards Wu Song.

"Tiger!" Hearing the tiger's roar, Wu Song immediately gripped his staff and turned to be on guard. His gaze fell upon the direction from which the sound came. What he saw was alarming: a gigantic tiger, two meters tall and over six meters long, was rushing toward him at breakneck speed. Instantly, all the alcohol in Wu Song's body turned into cold sweat and poured from his body. Without hesitation, Wu Song turned tail and ran.

If it were an ordinary tiger, he might have dared to fight it to the death. But was this an ordinary tiger? It was four or five times larger than an average tiger, and so ferocious. It was obvious he would never win. If it were before, fueled by alcohol, Wu Song might have dared to fight it. Now that he was sober, it would be foolish not to run.

"Damn it, that kid got away!" The tiger demon panicked when he saw Wu Song take off running. He sped up, no longer bothering to avoid the surrounding trees, and smashed through them to chase after Wu Song. If Wu Song escaped, the mission wouldn't be completed, and he wouldn't have a good time.

"Damn, that's amazing!" Wu Song saw the terrifying tiger smashing through trees and chasing after him without even breaking them, and its strength was so great that his fists and cudgel were useless. He was afraid that if he were hit even once, he would be dead. So he used all his strength and ran even faster.

However, no matter how fast Wu Song was, he couldn't outrun the tiger demon. Before long, the tiger demon caught up with Wu Song and leaped in front of him, blocking his path.

Unfortunately, Wu Song was only focused on escaping. When he saw the tiger demon blocking his way, he immediately turned and ran in another direction. Upon seeing this, the tiger demon immediately gave chase.

"Crack, crack..." Wu Song deliberately ran through areas with many trees. The tiger demon, being large, became less agile in such dense foliage and couldn't catch the nimble Wu Song for a while. Enraged, the tiger demon chased after him, constantly snapping the trees that blocked its path.

"So powerful." Seeing this, Wu Song knew he couldn't withstand even a single blow, or he would be crippled if not killed. He didn't dare risk fighting the tiger demon. In the forest, he deliberately chose to run through dense wooded areas. As long as there was a glimmer of hope, he resolutely refused to fight the tiger demon head-on.

"What's wrong with this tiger demon!" Wang Han, who had been hiding nearby, sighed. At this rate, even if Wu Song eventually fought the tiger demon, he would be exhausted. However, judging from Wu Song's ability to escape, he did possess some skill.

"You beast, you mustn't hurt anyone! Now lie down obediently!" Knowing that the tiger spirit couldn't find out anything about Wu Song, Wang Han simply stopped hiding and suddenly appeared in front of Wu Song, scolding the tiger spirit.

Upon seeing Wang Han appear and being scolded by him, the tiger spirit slammed on the brakes, dragging the mud along as it came to an abrupt stop, and then affectionately nuzzled its head against Wang Han's feet.

"..." Wang Han glanced at the tiger spirit, then said to Wu Song, who was panting heavily, "Sorry, sorry, this is my pet. It was here before we came up the mountain, but it ran away at some point. It won't hurt anyone, it's just a little mischievous and wanted to play with you. The man-eating tiger on the mountain was killed by me yesterday."

"The General's pet is quite fierce," Wu Song said, panting, finally relieved. Although he was quite frightened, he dared not say a bad word about Wang Han. In his heart, he cursed, thinking that even if the General were to play with his pet, it would probably cripple him.

"Stop cursing me in your heart, I can read minds," Wang Han said with a smile, looking at Wu Song.

“…” Wu Song.

“My pet looks tired from playing too. To be able to play with him for so long, you must be quite skilled. So, how about it, are you interested in joining my team?” Wang Han said with a smile.

"This..." Upon hearing this, Wu Song hesitated for a moment, feeling somewhat resentful.

“Not just anyone is qualified to work under me. If you work under me, your status will naturally rise, your family will benefit, they will have no worries about food and drink, and they can even live in my General’s Mansion,” Wang Han said with a smile.
