Chapter 537 Centipede Monster

"Big brother, can you do magic?" Watching the black silhouettes turn into limp blobs under Wang Han's fists, Xia Shiqi's fear subsided somewhat. She spoke to Wang Han, tears still glistening in her eyes. Under Wang Han's deliberate concealment and the darkness, she didn't see the spray of flesh and bone behind these black silhouettes. In her eyes, Wang Han simply punched, and these black monsters slumped down like waterlogged sacks.

"Yes! Do you like the magic tricks your brother does? Your brother has turned these demons into this to vent your anger." Wang Han said with a gentle smile, not at all like someone who would kill without hesitation. But his hands did not stop, and he continued to punch one person after another. In less than a minute, all the people who came out of the house were dead under Wang Han's fists.

"Shiqi, let's go!" After killing the person, Wang Han smiled gently at Xia Shiqi, turned around and walked towards the courtyard gate. With just one kick, he opened the thin iron gate, carried Xia Shiqi out of the courtyard, and disappeared into the night.

Wang Han didn't interrogate these black silhouettes; they didn't speak the same language, and there was no need for such trouble.

"Hiss..." After Wang Han left, a small centipede, about the size of a thumb, crawled out of the ground in the courtyard. As soon as it emerged, it struggled painfully, its carapace cracking and falling off, blood flowing continuously from the broken shells, exposing its tender white flesh to the air. Its body rapidly grew larger, twisting and contorting as it grew wildly. In just one minute, it had transformed into a three-meter-long centipede monster, its thick armor covered in sharp spikes, its legs gleaming like knives. Its mandibles were like a giant pair of pincers, terrifying enough to cut through steel pipes. Its antennae constantly flailing—its organs for gathering information.

"Rustle..." Once fully formed, the centipede monster immediately crawled into the small, lit house. A few lucky people remained inside.

"ah......"

"A monster!"

Moments later, terrified voices and screams echoed from the cabin, followed by complete silence a few seconds later.

"Swish..." The centipede monster moved its twenty-four legs rapidly, crawling out of the hut and into the warehouse, where it hid somewhere.

It has made this place its den, and with its ferocity, any large creature that enters here will be killed by it.

This place is inherently shady, so few people come here. In addition, the centipede monster is quite powerful, making it difficult for anyone who enters to escape. It's unlikely that the monster will be discovered here in a short period of time.

"Big brother, I'm scared! What if there are monsters?"

On the other side, Xia Shiqi, who was being carried by Wang Han and walking at high speed in the dark, looked at the dark and desolate environment around her and hugged Wang Han tightly.

Wang Han was holding her, and she couldn't feel it. If anyone saw it, they would definitely shout that it was a monster, because Wang Han was too fast. Although he was walking, his speed was faster than an airplane.

"Don't be afraid, the city is just ahead. No matter what kind of monsters or demons they are, I'll use magic to make them deflate as soon as they appear," Wang Han reassured him, as a powerful flashlight appeared out of thin air in his hand, illuminating the path ahead. With the light, Wang Han's speed returned to that of a normal person walking.

"Where is your home? Do you have any relatives?" Wang Han asked as they walked, trying to distract Xia Shiqi.

“My home is in the car, a really big car.” Hearing this, Xia Shiqi shook her head and said, “My parents always drive me around and we’ve been to so many places.”

"Did your parents tell you where you're from?" Wang Han asked in a different way.

“My parents say we are all Chinese,” Xia Shiqi said immediately upon hearing this.

"..." Wang Han paused for a moment, then asked, "Where in China are you from?"

"I don't know!" Xia Shiqi shook her head and said.

"Did you tell your grandparents, your in-laws' names, where they're from, and whether you've ever met them?" Wang Han asked.

"I don't know. My parents have never told me, and I've never seen it." Hearing this, Xia Shiqi shook her head again.

Well, it turns out Xia Shiqi's parents are a pair of hardcore backpackers. Xia Shiqi has no idea where her home is and will have to find out for herself later.

“Let’s live with your brother for now!” Wang Han said, then began to ask about other things.

After walking for another ten minutes or so, Wang Han carried Xia Shiqi into the dimly lit city. The city was small and underdeveloped. Although it had an electric grid, the electrical wiring was sparse, not even fully integrated into the city. Lights were scarce; only a few vital areas were lit, with dedicated power lines running through them. The rest of the city was illuminated by flickering candlelight. Clearly, this city, lacking even a widespread electric grid, couldn't provide 24-hour electricity.

After walking around the city for a while, Wang Han found a shop with lit candles and went inside.

As the flashlight beam shone into the store, it also illuminated a black silhouette on the counter, where a creature was lying asleep.

"A monster!" Looking at the black silhouette, Xia Shiqi gripped Wang Han's arms even tighter. Her previous experience had left a deep-seated fear in her heart.

"Shiqi, don't be afraid. This monster is asleep forever and will never wake up," Wang Han said gently, carrying Xia Shiqi towards the inner room. After sensing that the room was empty, he kicked the door open and carried Xia Shiqi inside.

Although Wang Han made a huge commotion, there was no other sound in the inn except for the noise he made; it was completely silent.

The hotel was not good, or rather, it was terrible. The hygiene was poor, the conditions were poor, the safety was poor, and they even used candles for lighting. The only good thing was the ventilation, or rather, the air leakage was relatively good, but that was on the condition that the hotel toilets didn't smell so bad.

Upon entering the room, Wang Han waved his hand dismissively, and a gentle breeze appeared out of nowhere, blowing away the pungent stench from the room through the drafty openings, along with the sweaty bedding. Then, Wang Han took out a new quilt before laying Xia Shiqi down to sleep.

After Xia Shiqi fell asleep, Wang Han set up a protective barrier and quietly left. In this technologically advanced world, he still needed to acquire some of the world's currency, since all the coins in this world were numbered, and his multiplier ability couldn't prevent it.
