Chapter 635 Evil Approaches, A New Era Begins

Time flies, and three years have passed in the blink of an eye.

In the past three years, Wang Han's tribe has split into more than thirty new tribes scattered around Buzhou Mountain. Each new tribe has one or two hundred people, and some even have four or five hundred people.

Some tribes that separated earlier grew and then split into new tribes. Like ripples spreading outwards, these tribes expanded from Wang Han's tribe to areas far beyond Buzhou Mountain. Now, there are as many as two or three hundred human tribes around Buzhou Mountain. These tribes range in size from a couple hundred people to as many as two thousand. Because they are all newly formed tribes, there are few conflicts between them, and they are very united; when one is in trouble, help comes from all sides.

In the three years since, Wang Han's tribe has expanded to over seven thousand people, transitioning from a purely hunting society to a semi-agricultural one. This was largely thanks to the grain seeds Wang Han brought, the early planting of crops, and the raising of animals. This not only ensured a sufficient food supply but also provided surplus grain and meat to support other tribes that had branched off from him. Otherwise, the natural resources within a hundred miles would not have been enough to support such a large population.

After three years of construction, Wang Han's tribe was built into a super-large mountain stronghold. During the three years of continuous construction, not only were more than 2,000 acres of land in the forest enclosed as the tribe's living territory with thick tree stumps like a fence, but there were also large areas of farmland in the territory. The tribe also had a large number of wooden houses and adobe houses for living, so that they could live in families instead of many people crammed into a cave. The caves used to be used as storage and warehouses.

The tribe established by Wang Han became the largest and most sacred tribe in the entire Buzhou Mountain, known as the Beginning Tribe. This is one of the important reasons why Wang Han, after having already gathered the savages within a hundred miles, still gained so many more people. In addition to a large number of newborns, many humans came seeking him out. Wang Han also became the only Head Spirit among the humans, and the highest sage of all humans. Other tribes had leaders or chiefs, and their sages were called Spirit Masters.

"Spirit Head, what are you thinking about?"

A call interrupted Wang Han's thoughts as he sat on a treetop, gazing blankly at the southern sky.

Under the big tree, a girl dressed in deerskin animal skin looked curiously at Wang Han, who was lost in thought, then glanced at the sky, as if trying to find out what he was looking at. She was quite used to seeing Wang Han sitting on the treetop without bending it at all.

"It's compassion!" Interrupted by the girl's thoughts, Wang Han looked down at the girl under the tree and asked, "Did you finish teaching the children to speak and pronounce words so early today?"

"It was the spirit that said that just studying hard isn't enough; you need to rest when you need to." Hearing this, Min said to Wang Han with a grin, and asked curiously, "Spirit, what were you looking at just now? I saw you staring south for a long time without moving, but I didn't see anything in the south."

“Of course you can’t see it, because your eyes don’t see high enough, far enough, or deep enough,” Wang Han said with a smile.

Upon hearing this, Min thought he wasn't standing high enough, so he nimbly climbed the tree and looked around from the branch. He still didn't see anything special; the forest was still the same as always. So he asked Wang Han curiously, "Head Spirit, what did you see?"

"I see demonic energy rising from the south, and miasma spreading! A vast evil is approaching Mount Buzhou," Wang Han sighed upon hearing this. This was a force that everyone had overlooked. The seven sages had overlooked them, and so had Wang Han.

"Head Spirit, is some kind of demon coming?" Upon hearing this, Min stopped smiling and asked with fear and seriousness. Although she had never encountered a demon before, she had heard the adults say that before the human race established tribes, there were many demons in the forests, and almost everyone who had seen a demon had died. However, after the tribes were established, the demons in the nearby forests almost all disappeared.

“Yes, monsters are coming! Many monsters! Monsters from a very far place! They are growing too fast!” Wang Han nodded and said, “This is an unavoidable calamity, but also the beginning of a new era.”

After the destruction of the Heavenly Dao, the primordial world became increasingly chaotic. Whether it was the Seven Great Sages or the various powerful beings, everyone was busy with their own affairs, yet they were also scheming against each other. Evil, without the restraint of the Heavenly Dao, seemed to be slowly running rampant. However, humanity had only entered the Stone Age a few years prior, forcing Wang Han to consider the future path of humanity and what the future of the primordial world would hold.

Although he possessed great strength, he could not control the primordial world, every person, and every event like the Heavenly Dao, nor could he predict the future of every living being.

“Let’s go back!” Shaking his head, Wang Han rose from the treetop and drifted to the ground like a falling leaf, heading towards his residence.

"Yes." Upon hearing this, Min quickly followed behind Wang Han, his previous playfulness and liveliness gone.

"Min, go and beat the animal skin drum!"

Upon returning to their tribal settlement, Wang Han instructed Min and handed him the token. It was an animal-hide drum, made of animal hide, used to summon the tribespeople and issue warnings. (The warning drum did not require a token.)

Upon hearing Wang Han's instructions, Min immediately ran to the center of the tribe.

"Boom boom boom...!" Soon, the deep, resonant sound of drums echoed through the tribe, pausing for dozens of breaths after every five beats before resuming. The different frequencies of the drumbeats represented different events; this particular frequency of pauses signified the special drumbeat used by the head spirit to summon the tribespeople.

"Boom boom boom...!" As the drumbeats sounded in the center of the tribe, the same frequency of drumbeats began to echo all around the tribe.

"The spirit summons everyone!"

As the sound of drums echoed throughout the tribe, those who were working in the fields put down their stone tools, and those at home also put down what they were doing, all rushing to the center of the tribe, where a special open space had been reserved for them.

About twenty minutes later, apart from the tribespeople guarding the tribe, the other tribespeople, from the elderly to the children who were already old enough to understand things, all came to the open space left in the center of the tribe.

On the specially erected platform in the central open space, looking at the clansmen who had almost gathered, he spoke solemnly: "Today, I observe that demonic energy is rising in the south and miasma is spreading. A large number of demons will come from the south and are expected to sweep over Buzhou Mountain in another half month."

"Buzz...!"

As soon as Wang Han spoke, the gathered clansmen burst into a buzzing discussion.

"Head Spirit! What should we do? Please guide us, Head Spirit!" Amidst the buzzing discussions, a tribesman loudly asked Wang Han.
