"Please bring in the next patient!"
As Mayu entered the office, a young woman carrying a child who looked to be about two years old walked in.
"Is it you? Or him?" Looking at the young woman who came in carrying a child, Wang Han immediately saw the problem: there was something wrong with the child, and there was something wrong with the woman.
"He's my child!" Upon hearing this, the young woman said without hesitation and handed the child to Wang Han.
Seeing this, Wang Han glanced at the young woman again and said, "This child has a hereditary disease, inherited from you!"
Hearing Wang Han's words, Mayumi looked at him with a mixture of doubt and curiosity. If she hadn't already witnessed Wang Han's medical skills, she would have suspected him of being a charlatan who spouted nonsense. He knew it was a hereditary disease before even starting treatment, and even knew it was inherited from his mother. But it was precisely because she had seen Wang Han's medical skills that she was so curious about how he knew, since he hadn't even diagnosed the patient yet, only glanced at him a few times.
"Please, doctor, you must help treat my child." Compared to Mayumi's doubts and curiosity, the young woman's eyes shone with hope as she pleaded with Wang Han.
She knew it was a hereditary disease, of course. For the past two years, she had sold her house and sought medical treatment everywhere, from Tokyo to Kyushu to Kasukabe, visiting countless places, but the answer was always the same: no place could treat this type of hereditary disease, which made her increasingly desperate. This trip to Osaka was her first time seeking medical help there. Seeing a traditional Chinese medicine clinic in Osaka, she decided to try it out of despair. However, she never expected that the young doctor already knew her condition as soon as she entered, which explained her earlier questions. This gave her a glimmer of hope in her almost hopeless heart.
"The four diagnostic methods of traditional Chinese medicine are: observation, listening, questioning, and palpation. 'Observation' means relying on observation of the patient to make a preliminary judgment on the patient's condition." Wang Han did not answer the young woman's request immediately, but instead smiled and explained the situation to Mayumi.
Upon hearing Wang Han's instructions, Mayumi quickly took out her notebook and began to take notes.
However, Wang Han stopped to explain after only recording a few sentences, saying to the young woman, "The treatment will cost 200,000 taels of silver. The initial treatment will take about five minutes. After the treatment, you will need to go back and recuperate on your own."
“Okay, no problem.” Hearing Wang Han’s confident and relaxed answer, the young woman quickly replied and took out twenty bills of ten thousand taels of cash without saying another word.
Although she had been seeking medical treatment for two years, no hospital could treat her genetic disease, so she hadn't spent much money on treatment and still had a considerable amount left over. Regarding the on-site payment, while it seemed unreasonable, the nurse at the registration desk had explained it to her: the Chinese medicine doctor was an externally hired expert, and the hospital didn't have a standard fee schedule for the TCM department, so on-site pricing was required. Post-treatment care would also be at her own expense.
Upon seeing the cash handed over by the young woman, Mayumi quickly took it with both hands and then promptly issued an invoice stamped with the hospital's official seal to the young woman.
Having received the money, Wang Han naturally wouldn't keep the young woman waiting long. He picked up the silver needles and cupping jars and began to work on them. Using methods that didn't belong to this world, Wang Han quickly absorbed the child's genetic disease into the cupping jars.
After thinking it over, Wang Hanshun left a virus in the child's body. This virus would not harm the body, but it would damage the Y chromosome, causing the little boy to only be able to have girls in the future.
"He's fully recovered. You can take him for another check-up." After the treatment, Wang Han wrote out a dietary therapy prescription and gave it to the young woman, saying with a smile.
"Thank you, doctor!" The young woman quickly thanked Wang Han as she looked at the purple liquid being drawn out of the cupping jar. Then, she hurriedly left the office with the prescription for dietary therapy, presumably to take her child for a check-up.
"The next patient can come in now!" Wang Han instructed Mayumi after collecting the virus from the cupping jars.
…………
Time passed by second by second, and soon it was almost time to leave work. Every patient who walked out of Wang Han's office was full of smiles, praising Wang Han's medical skills and the magic of traditional Chinese medicine. He could cure patients with just one treatment, and it didn't take much time at all.
Although the fee is high, it is only charged once and can completely cure the disease, which is much cheaper than multiple treatments.
It was precisely because of the patients' praise and word-of-mouth that, even as it was nearing the end of the workday, a long queue still stretched outside Wang Han's office. The queue showed no signs of slowing down, even extending to the main entrance of the hospital, with no fewer than five hundred people, and the line was still growing. Many patients had come from other departments within the hospital, and many more were arriving from outside, some even bringing makeshift beds and food, prepared to queue overnight. After all, many illnesses are not easy to cure, or require a great deal of money and time, but now it seemed there was hope, or the potential to save a significant amount of money and time.
The news that an Osaka hospital had hired a renowned traditional Chinese medicine doctor spread like wildfire throughout Osaka and even across the country. People from other places had already set off for Osaka.

"Finally finished treatment! So tiring! Mayumi, go tell the patients outside that it's time to go home for the day." In the office, another patient walked out of the ward, stretched, and complained as he looked at Wang Han, who was already thirty seconds past his closing time. "Next time, you should mention to the director that there should be a limit on the number of patients that can come to see him each day."
