"No...!" Smaug screamed in terror as he watched the spear of Longinus hurtling toward him at breakneck speed. He tried his best to dodge the spear, but he felt that he could not escape no matter what he did. No matter how he dodged, the spear was destined to kill him.
"Man, I curse you to a terrible death, in the name of the dragons!" Knowing he could not escape his fate, Smaug cursed loudly.
"Thud!" The forked, spiraling spear pierced through the dragon scales, carrying immense penetrating force, and passed through Smaug's dragon body, tearing out large chunks of flesh and blood.
Longinus's spear pierced through, and Smaug died instantly. His dragon body fell into a sea of gold coins.
"What use is the curse of the weak?" Wang Han sneered, reaching out to grab the air, and the Spear of Longinus reappeared in his hand.
Flying up to the stunned Thorin, Wang Han said mockingly, "Smaug is nothing special. Your plan has failed because you don't understand me or us at all."
"Since you were able to kill Smaug, what about your secret weapon?" Thorin suddenly realized, looking at Wang Han and asking. Yes, Wang Han possessed a weapon capable of killing even gods; killing Smaug would be no problem for him. Therefore, the strange secret weapon his mercenary group had previously thought they were preparing to use against Smaug was definitely not for Smaug. So what was it meant to be used against?
"A secret weapon, it's used against armies!" Wang Han sneered. "It can mow down armies like cutting grass."
Thorinchus was stunned, feeling as if the whole world had plunged into darkness, devoid of any light. He had greatly underestimated this mercenary group, and even more so its leader; all his schemes had been outmaneuvered. Smaug had been killed by Wang Han, and Dane's Ironfoot army was destined for slaughter.
"Regret it? You'll see for yourself." Wang Han sneered, then flew back ahead of Thorin.
"Collect the dragon corpse and the most valuable items, load them all onto the truck." After flying to the entrance of the treasure vault, Wang Han gave the order to the members of the Exploding Sky Gang, then carried Thorin and flew towards the entrance of Lonely Mountain.
——————————————————
"Smaug the dragon is dead. This mercenary group's strength has exceeded our expectations."
The dwarves, including Balin, watched in silence as the members of the Sky-Bombing Mercenary Group carried chests of treasure out of Lonely Mountain and loaded them into those enormous, wheeled machines.
They had all heard the dragon's roar in Lonely Mountain, and the fact that the Sky-Bombing Mercenary Group had begun moving the spoils of war already indicated the outcome of the battle. Given the mercenary group's actions, Thorin was probably dead as well.
At this moment, they even felt that sending King Dann of Ironhill with his Ironfoot army to their rescue was a mistake.
"What do we do? Go back?" Baggins asked, unable to think of anything else they could do. Smaug the Dragon was dead, Thorin was dead. The treasure of Lonely Mountain Kingdom had become the spoils of the Skybreaker mercenary group, and their dozen or so men were no match for the powerful Skybreaker mercenary group.
“No.” The oldest dwarf, Balin, shook his head and said firmly, “We still have one thing to do, something we must do.”
Upon hearing this, the dwarves looked at Balin, wondering what else they needed to do.
“We must stop King Dain of Ironhill from bringing his Ironfoot army here. We cannot let them come to their deaths,” Balin said. He knew that after receiving Thorin's letter, King Dain of Ironhill would definitely bring his Ironfoot army.
Upon hearing this, everyone else fell silent.
Yes! And High Overlord Dain of Ironhill will lead the Ironfoot Army to their rescue. They had been desperately hoping that High Overlord Dain of Ironhill would lead the Ironfoot Army to rescue Thorin.
But now, Thorin is dead, and the Ironfoot Army will suffer heavy casualties against the Skybreaker mercenary group. Continuing to sacrifice themselves is pointless. Are they really going to watch Dane's army come to their deaths?!
"Yes, there's one more thing we absolutely must do!"
"We must stop King Dane from leading the Ironfoot Army here."
"Not for our king, Thorin, but for many more of our people!"
The dwarves spoke one by one, looking at each other with unwavering resolve.
"Looks like you've figured it out!" A sigh rang out behind the dwarves.
"who?"
"Those hiding their heads and tails, come out!"
Hearing the sound behind them, the dwarves immediately picked up their weapons and turned to face them.
However, behind them was just a mountain wall.
"Our commander was once... a man who single-handedly wiped out an army of 50,000. You have no chance against him." Just as the dwarves were looking at the cliff face in confusion, a human face suddenly appeared on it. Then, a mercenary from the Sky-Bombing Gang walked out of the cliff face and shook his head.
"Fifty thousand." Upon hearing this, the dwarves' eyes widened in disbelief.
“I have no reason to lie to you,” the mercenary said. “Because that’s what we saw with our own eyes, and that’s why we follow our leader.”
“I remember you, your name is Dura, right? What brings you here?” Balin asked. He had seen this man in the mercenary group before, though only a few times, and knew his name.
“I’ve been here all along. My mission is to keep an eye on him, to prevent him from going to Lonely Mountain, and to prevent him from leaving this place. But now, I’m taking him to Lonely Mountain,” Dura said, pointing at Baggins. “My advice to you is not to seek your own deaths. It’s just my personal advice to you.”
“You won’t let Baggins leave, so you really won’t let us go. Your leader has never had good intentions from the beginning,” Kili said angrily, grabbing his weapon and charging towards Dula.
